As a result, the entire Carthaginian nobility was shaken by the news that Rome, a powerful city-state in the centre of Italia(which was why Carthage chose to ally with them), had, in such a short period, beaten by the Theonian army to such a state that they were rendered unable to fight, even to the point of barely surviving…
