Chapter 134: Chapter 134: A Wave of Fancy Moves

Yamazaki didn’t want to waste another word and launched his attack before even stepping onto the field.

Seeing this, Su Longtu drew his longsword, ready for a decisive battle.

However, just at that moment, An Dongye came running again.

Her speed was incredible, far faster than Yamazaki’s rush toward the soccer field. An Dongye intercepted him just as his foot touched the grass.

PFFT!

She used the same move again, plunging her pig-slaughtering knife into Yamazaki’s heart before turning tail and running.

"Stop!"

Kuroki Suzu, who had just returned to the stands, spotted An Dongye but was too late to stop her. Seeing the assassin stab someone and flee yet again, she gave chase at full speed. However, Kuroki Suzu lost sight of her after leaving the soccer field.

"Damn it!" Kuroki Suzu roared in fury.

Ye Xiu, watching everything from the shadows, almost laughed out loud. This play from An Dongye is simply outrageous!

Meanwhile, Zhu Xiaowen and the others on the soccer field were completely dumbfounded. They couldn’t comprehend how a proper arena match had devolved into this.

The remaining four Eighth Grade Grandmasters from Sang Jing were livid, their faces ashen as a ferocious killing aura erupted from them.

"Aoki, you’re up!" Kuroki Suzu commanded upon her return.

"Yes!"

The Eighth Grade Grandmaster known as Aoki descended unhurriedly from the stands and walked toward the soccer field.

Meanwhile, Kuroki Suzu walked to the edge of the field. This time, she positioned herself right beside the arena, ready to personally kill that shameless woman if she dared to show her face again.

Finally, Aoki stepped onto the soccer field. He slowly drew his katana and pointed it at Su Longtu. "Are you ready?"

"I don’t feel like I need to," Su Longtu replied, his expression strained.

"You’re courting death!" Enraged by Su Longtu’s words, Aoki charged with his katana.

Just at that moment, the figure everyone was waiting for appeared again.

Seeing this, Kuroki Suzu decisively drew her own katana, ready to cleave An Dongye in two the moment she charged over. But just as An Dongye came within three meters of Kuroki Suzu, she suddenly executed a dazzling drift and bolted toward the spectator stands.

The move caught Kuroki Suzu completely off guard. By the time she realized what An Dongye was doing, the assassin had already stormed into the stands.

An Dongye rushed up to a female Eighth Grade Grandmaster. Instead of her usual stab to the heart, she changed her move and slit the woman’s throat. She then casually stabbed another Eighth Grade Grandmaster nearby.

Then, her work done, she made her escape.

"Aaargh, I’ll kill you!"

Seeing An Dongye kill two more people, Kuroki Suzu lost all reason in her fury and roared as she chased after her. However, once she was outside the soccer field, she lost track of An Dongye again.

Standing at the entrance of the soccer field, Kuroki Suzu was speechless. Her composure had completely shattered.

She had come to Jin Ye City with one Great Grandmaster, eight Eighth Grade Grandmasters, and forty Sixth and Seventh Grade masters to help Dragon Hollyhock deal with Ye Xiu. Yet, she hadn’t even laid eyes on him. The Great Grandmaster, Ito Meiya, was missing. Only two of the eight Eighth Grade Grandmasters remained. Of the forty lower-grade masters, four had been sniped and two were crippled.

Xuanse is too dangerous! Kuroki Suzu felt an overwhelming urge to flee back to Sang Jing with her remaining people.

What a talent! Ye Xiu mused, watching An Dongye disappear into the distance. He truly admired her but couldn’t fathom her motives.

He knew An Dongye wouldn’t be back after this escape. That was precisely what puzzled him. Kuroki Suzu and two Eighth Grade Grandmasters from Sang Jing were still on the soccer field. Why not kill them all before leaving? Even if she couldn’t beat Kuroki Suzu, with her astonishing speed, taking out the two Eighth Grade Grandmasters should have been no problem.

Ye Xiu wanted to follow An Dongye to see what she was really up to, but he was afraid that if he left, Kuroki Suzu would vent her anger on Zhu Xiaowen and the others.

"Are we still fighting or not?" Zhu Xiaowen asked, looking at the returning Kuroki Suzu while trying hard to suppress a laugh.

"Maybe we should," Su Longtu said. "I’ve already been through three opponents without making a single move." He disliked the feeling of winning by default; it brought no sense of accomplishment.

"You... you..." Kuroki Suzu’s face flashed red and white like a strobe light at their mocking words and attitudes. Barely suppressing the urge to strangle them both, she asked, "Zhu Xiaowen, I hear you and Ye Xiu are on good terms?"

"Of course! Brother Ye is my idol," Zhu Xiaowen said proudly.

"Good. Very good," Kuroki Suzu said, her expression twisting into a sinister smile.

"Good what?" Zhu Xiaowen asked.

"Do you know why I came to Jin Ye City?" Kuroki Suzu countered with a question of her own.

Zhu Xiaowen froze for a second, then her expression changed drastically. "You came for Brother Ye?"

"Correct!" Kuroki Suzu nodded. "By capturing you, Ye Xiu will be forced to surrender. Of course, so many of my Sang Jing compatriots have died in Jin Ye City, and I must avenge them. So, apart from you, every other Xuanse person here must die."

She planned to capture Zhu Xiaowen, deal with Ye Xiu, and then leave Jin Ye City immediately. She didn’t want to stay here a second longer.

The faces of Zhu Xiaowen, Su Longtu, and the ten other Eighth Grade Grandmasters turned grim, as did those of the people from Jin Ye City’s Ancient Martial Circle in the stands.

"It won’t be that easy to kill us," Su Longtu declared, brandishing his sword as he stepped in front of Zhu Xiaowen.

The other ten Eighth Grade masters also formed a protective circle around Zhu Xiaowen. Everyone from the Jin Ye City Ancient Martial Circle ran down from the stands to stand behind her.

The only two remaining Sang Jing Eighth Grade Grandmasters positioned themselves behind Kuroki Suzu.

"You may have numbers, but you’re just a disorganized mob. Slaughtering you will be as easy as butchering pigs and dogs," Kuroki Suzu snarled, tightening her grip on her katana.

"Master Su, you and I will hold them off. The rest of you, escort Miss Zhu to safety," Song Penghui, the Sect Leader of the Vajra Sect, said in a deep voice.

"Alright!" Su Longtu stepped forward. He knew that staying meant certain death, but if his sacrifice could save Zhu Xiaowen and the others, it would be a death well worth it.

"Miss Zhu, let’s go!" one of the nine Eighth Grade Grandmasters urged while protecting her.

Zhu Xiaowen didn’t want to leave, but she knew her presence would be no help. Worse, if she fell into Kuroki Suzu’s hands, it would put Ye Xiu at a great disadvantage.

"None of you are getting away," Kuroki Suzu scoffed, charging with her katana toward the layers of people protecting Zhu Xiaowen.

"Your opponent is me!"

Sect Leader Song Penghui blocked Kuroki Suzu, surprisingly meeting her katana with a punch. Song Penghui was known as the foremost practitioner of body hardening techniques in the Xuanse Ancient Martial Circle. To date, no one aside from Ye Xiu had ever breached his defense. Even a Great Grandmaster would have to deplete his martial prowess completely before being able to kill him.

Song Penghui was confident he could hold Kuroki Suzu down, even at the cost of his own life.

However, Song Penghui didn’t know that Kuroki Suzu was no Great Grandmaster. She was a War God.
