Mech: Shattering of the Galaxy-Chapter 90 - Target: Purple Jade Star! (Third update presented)
Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Target: Purple Jade Star! (Third update presented)
Editor: Noodletown Translations
Mu Fan ran in a certain direction for a full forty minutes and finally saw the edge of the city. The metal tag on his chest, initially scorching hot, was now slightly warm, seemingly constantly pointing towards the direction of the Shura Mecha.
He touched the “Fan” character branded on his chest. Now, he no longer had to worry about finding his mecha. He had to contact Black as soon as possible. Otherwise, it would be a real problem figuring out how to take this mecha away when he left.
A full hour later, Mu Fan finally returned to the entrance of the Fowen Manor and discovered that, surprisingly, it was the most intact building on Jiahe Avenue. Now, there were many people in military attire participating in the rescue efforts at the entrance.
When Mu Fan got closer, he overheard two people clearing debris while whispering.
“Did you hear? That kid Marcus actually didn’t die!”
...
“Who? Who is Marcus?”
“You don’t know? It’s the mecha that took down fourteen Reapers. In the end, wasn’t it blown apart by the Star Thief’s Thunder Slash?”
“I know about that event, a Warrior-class mecha! I’ve never seen a real one before. Can someone actually survive after a direct hit?”
“Exactly, even the Major led the Fourth Guard in salute. It is even said that the government wants to award him the Federation Flamingo Medal!”
“Flamingo! That’s the highest-ranking medal among soldiers! I haven’t heard of anyone on Loga Star having one!”
“Right! And you know what’s impressive? During the rescue, the government team found the remains of that RX-16, with an escape pod nearby. The top of the escape pod was completely gone! But that Marcus kid is unbelievably lucky. He didn’t die and was found comatose inside.”
“Wow!” The companion exclaimed over Marcus’s luck, “Marcus is going to hit it big now!”
“Ah, don’t envy him. He played with his life to achieve that. I wouldn’t be able to take down fourteen Reapers, probably not even one.”
“Let’s just move these rocks carefully, so we don’t crush our feet.”…
Hearing their conversation, Mu Fan suddenly remembered. Wasn’t Marcus the original mechanical master whom he knocked out and threw into the escape pod? Had it not been for their dialogue, he might have forgotten. Fortunately, he didn’t die. Feeling a wave of guilt, Mu Fan scratched his head.
In the city, surrounded by a group of senior military officers expressing concern for his well-being, Marcus wore a bewildered expression, looking around before suddenly sneezing and continuing to be at a loss. What on earth was happening? Why did it feel like the entire world had changed after he blacked out and woke up?
Suddenly, someone noticed Mu Fan awkwardly standing and scratching his head in the street. A soldier came over and pointed not far away, saying, “Are you okay? There’s a refugee shelter over there where you can rest for a while.”
Mu Fan’s current ragged clothes made him look worse than a refugee. There wasn’t a single intact piece of fabric on him.
He quickly thanked the soldier and said, “I’m here to find someone, a friend of mine is inside,” pointing to the 4th Manor behind the soldier.
The soldier quickly stepped aside. The 4th Manor was the most intact place on this street. A mere thought could guess the terrifying power of the Fowen Consortium, which everyone previously underestimated.
Mu Fan followed the path from last night into the manor and hadn’t walked far when he faintly heard laughter.
How could Gaoling Sen not be happy? Surviving near-death was an unbelievable fortune, and being able to stand securely on this land again was the most beautiful thing.
Wayne was busy dealing with other matters, apparently contacting people to search for that Mu Fan kid.
Servants busily passed by, all detouring around the man laughing unrestrainedly on the lawn, for he was a distinguished guest from afar, whom even the family head dared not neglect.
Beside him stood a gentle and quiet girl, looking helplessly at her father with her back to the door.
“Where is Harry?”
Gaoling Sen, still immersed in his exuberance, said off-handedly, “I don’t know, probably went with Wayne to find someone.”
Then his voice suddenly stopped as he turned slowly, seeing Mu Fan standing there in tattered clothes, looking at him expectantly with wide eyes!
“Mu Fan!”

“Mu Fan?” Shelly turned promptly upon hearing her father’s exclamation.
The person Wayne and his son were searching for was right in front of them! Thank goodness, they were all still alive! Though Shelly saw the ragged clothes and various injuries all over Mu Fan, seeing him standing there safe and sound, there was nothing better than surviving well!
Shelly’s smile blossomed, her eyes curving into crescents.
Suddenly seeing the girl in front of him smile brightly, Mu Fan somewhat apologized, ignoring Gaoling Sen utterly, as he spoke, “I’m so glad you’re alright. By the way, could you tell me where Harry is?”
Seeing the kid glance at him once and then focus entirely on his precious daughter, Gaoling Sen felt a surge of fury, but remembering his status, he refrained from arguing with a youth, letting out a cold huff, standing displeased with his arms crossed.
“Cousin Harry went searching for you! He said he couldn’t reach you at all. Wait a moment, I’ll call him,” Shelly took out her Sky Communication device, and soon connected to the plump voice.
“What is it?” The plump man inquired with anxiety, not having time for idle chatter now.
“Mu Fan is here,” Shelly handed the elegant, milky-white Sky Communication to Mu Fan, disregarding Gaoling Sen’s unpleasant expression.
“It’s me, Mu Fan!” said a familiar voice, causing the plump man to choke back tears momentarily.
Listening to his excited voice, a warmth surged within Mu Fan’s heart; he had a true friend on this planet.
“Mu Fan! Where did you go? Why have we been unable to reach you?” The plump man’s voice trembled, a barrage of questions causing Shelly’s eyes to shine brightly as she watched him.
“I happened to encounter the Star Thieves detonating bombs. I don’t know where it went after the melee with them. I was knocked unconscious by the mecha’s appearance. After waking up, I thought of finding you.” Mu Fan’s words were half-truths, making it difficult for others to question them. He had to hide the fact that he piloted the RX-16 and the subsequent Shura Mecha.
If there was anyone who truly knew Mu Fan, it had to be the plump man. He believed only half of Mu Fan’s story, suspecting there were things he couldn’t say through Sky Communication, prompting him immediately to say, “Alright, Mu Fan, quickly come to the VIP hall. My father wants to thank you for some good news!”
“What good news?”
“The Federation examination!” Finally, it arrived! As the plump man uttered those four words, Mu Fan’s hand clenched instantly, his previous efforts not in vain, leading up to today!
To leave Loga Star and experience the long-desired life! Mu Fan’s eyes were filled with yearning.
“Alright, I’ll find you!”
Mu Fan returned the Sky Communication to Shelly, nodding in gratitude before dashing into the hall.
Shelly watched Mu Fan’s retreating figure with envy; this must be what genuine friendship was.
No one noticed that after Mu Fan hung up the Sky Communication, a hidden camera flashed briefly before fixating on the spot where his figure disappeared.
“Mu Fan, it’s wonderful you’re not dead, sob, you didn’t know this master nearly self-destructed, huh?” Having finally tracked Mu Fan’s presence, Black had its first joyful outburst in the network.
Self-dissolution terminated.
These few hours felt like half a century to it.
