Mated To My Stepbrother-Chapter 76
Aria pov
As Jaxon and I stared into the blank space, wondering what my father wanted from us. Jaxon suddenly turned to me with a realized stare.
"I think I know what exactly your father wants from you. Do you have any assets, or money that your mother signed to your name, which you think has involvement with your father?" Jaxon said to me,
"I don’t think I have any or could recall any of that, but let me think," I said to him then tried to recall any of my conversations with my mother that led to me having any assets. Just then, I recalled the night my mum gave me some documents to sign, and she claimed it was some properties owned by my father and her, which she wanted to leave for me since it would not be right for her to give it out and I was our only child.
Then I turned to Jaxon with realization.
"I think he wants the property in my name."I said to Jaxon, who nodded immediately.
I stared at Jaxon, who was thinking, trying to put one-on-one together to realize if, truly, that was what my father wanted.
Just as Jaxon was about to reply to me, Mary, standing at the window, suddenly screamed as her phone fell from her hand. I stood up in shock.
I guess my body was just in a natural shock because of the things happening to me. Jaxon rushed towards her as the plumber came out from the kitchen and ran towards her while I slowly walked towards the scenario.
Mary’s gaze was still at the window as we ran to check what it was, but I was shocked at what I saw.
It seemed like someone splashed pig blood on the ground in front of the doorway. I covered my mouth in disgust as Mary stepped back in shock. Jaxon stared at me in confusion before turning his attention back to Mary.
"Who did that?" He asked her.
"Mary, Who did that? You have to speak up and stop keeping us in the silence."Jaxon says to Mary, who is still shaken as she stares at the window.
I also noticed that it was not just pig blood on the floor. Even the plumber looked so irritated, and Jaxon could not even stare at it because it would just irritate him to the core.
I stared keenly at the pig blood on the floor only to notice that it was not just big blood but even intestines and different things.
They seem to be alive. It made me scared as I stepped back in shock. Who could have done something distress? Jaxon also noticed that even the scene had scared me and dragged Mary to a sofa close by as he sat her down.
She was not meant to be looking at that scene anymore, or else she would not be able to speak up.
I noticed that if Jaxon continued to plead with Mary, she would not respond to him, so I moved Jaxon away from her as I sat beside her, holding her shoulder tightly in an embrace.
"Look, Mary, you have to tell us what you saw so we can at least know what is happening. Do not forget we are the only ones here. We need to confide in each other; just embrace your fear and tell me what it is You saw that you cannot even speak up." I said to Mary, and just as expected, she listened.
She looked at me with tears as she covered her mouth and shook her head negatively;
" it was just so heart-wrenching". She said to me for the first time that she was finally speaking up I smiled at Jaxon, who smiled back at me.
"I know it is heart-wrenching, but you still have to tell me what exactly happened," I said to her. She nodded before summoning up the courage to speak up.
"I was waiting for you to finish your discussion when I saw a bike drive to the front door of your building. There were two on the bike, and a pig was on their lap and it was alive."
"OK, since you said you saw a living pig, what else happened? Mary, you have to tell us everything, and I think you need to tell us urgently so we know if it is a case that needs to be reported to the police or not". I said to Mary hoping she would listen to me and speak up, I knew Mary was very soft-hearted, and any little incident, she could get to her immediately, so this must have been hard for her to speak up.
"I thought it was a delivery for both of you, or Jaxon wanted it to be a surprise dinner, so I was happy and decided to keep quiet. I did not want to ruin whatever surprise Jaxon had for you, but it wasn’t what I expected." Mary paused again, her hands were still shaking. I placed my hand on hers, holding it in place;
"Please stop being scared. It has already happened, and as you can see, it was a pig, not a human being, so speak up." Jaxon said to her in frustration as I warned him not to do it again.
We were trying to get the words out of her mouth, but he was making her even more scared.
"Do not worry Mary and just speak." I said to her in a reassuring voice as she smiled back at me.
"You don’t have to worry Jaxon, I am going to speak up no matter what...I have to say what I saw." She said to Jaxon before turning her attention back at me.
"He killed the pig right in front of me and poured out the contents of the pig’s tummy in the doorway but it did not end there." Mary paused making me scared.
"He said if I don’t leave your side he will kill me with you."
