Chapter 69: Chapter 69

Arya pov

Staring at Maya’s friends being so jealous of me and Maya’s sudden closeness. I had a new idea: I would make her friends hate her. After all, I knew they would know at least 90% of all her secrets.

I smiled weirdly and then suddenly looked at the time in a hurry.

"I will be back later in the evening to come see you." I began making her a bit confused and her friends happy as I was leaving.

"I need to go and check Aria’s misery," I said to her as I made sure to sound as evil as possible...She nodded and returned to sit on her bed, but just as I was about to step out the door, she stopped me.

"I am still very sick and recovering, do not ever say you saw me like this, is that understood?" Maya said to me. I smiled and nodded.

"You don’t even need to tell me; I know what to do after all; you are someone I now care about, so I would keep that secret tight. Do not worry yourself", I said to her before rushing out.

I soon stopped a taxi and directed it to the hospital Jaxon had told me Aria was, but on my way there, there was another traffic.

I asked the driver to take another route, but he said this was the only route and that, these few days, traffic had been going on and on in this road. Due to an accident and the weather from last night, I decided to be calm.

After all, no matter what, I was still going to get there, it’s like when I got there, she would suddenly heal, or Jaxon would not be there with her.

After some minutes and almost close to an hour, the driver soon got to the hospital. I paid him and rushed to the hospital, but on entering inside, I saw how hectic it was.

Just then, I saw the nurse at the reception desk and rushed towards her. She stared at me awkwardly as I tried to catch my breath with the flowers in my hand. All ruffled up due to how fast I was running.

"I am here to see one of my friends named Margeret," I said to the nurse as she went through her book and then stared at me awkwardly.

"Why is it that after Aria had passed through everything that is when you guys her fake friends decided to come and check on her." The nurse said to me, and that made me confused. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Does that mean that I’m not the only one who came to check on Aria, or is it that everyone who abandoned her up until now will not come to check on her?

"I am here to check on her because she is my friend, and you cannot just tell me what to do or stop me from doing what I think I am meant to do," I said to her rudely.

"You all are just fake friends; I hate you". She muttered so I wouldn’t hear her which made me even more curious to know if, truly, Aria was abandoned by her friends.

"She is in room 301, newly admitted into that room, "she said, which confused me as I turned around and walked towards the elevator.

What does she mean by room 301? Did something unexpected happen to Aria?

Aria pov

As I gradually adjusted to my surroundings, my memory of what happened remained hazy.

However, I vividly remembered the feelings of despair and fear that consumed me. As I turned my head, I noticed Jaxon sitting beside me busily paying all his attention to his phone.

Without giving away my consciousness, I remarked that he appeared slightly irked as soon as it started ringing. "I asked you to leave me alone," He stated firmly, adding that He had no intention of running away. He queried why the mysterious person didn’t place a tracker on him if they didn’t trust him. He angrily shouted into the phone, but I couldn’t make out the other person’s response.

I continued to observe him as he terminated the call with a great deal of aggression and began typing once again.

As I watch, Jaxon continues with his careful and aggressive typing. I decided to make my presence known so I didn’t seem to be intentionally eavesdropping on his conversation.

"Jaxon ". I muttered so silently, but he heard me and stood up immediately, dropping his phone on the chair as he rushed towards me.

"You are finally awake! It took you long enough," he said to me, but I tried to smile but couldn’t smile. I tried to move my hand but couldn’t even move it. I couldn’t even lift my head to see what was wrong with me.

Jaxon sat beside me on the bed with a sad expression.

"Why can’t I move?" I said silently to Jaxon. He stared at me from head to toe and held my hand.

"Why didn’t you tell me I should not have left you then?"He said to me, which confused me. I had not done anything to myself. He noticed I was staring at him, a bit confused, and looked confused.

"Did you mean that you don’t know how you got to this situation," he asked out of curiosity and I tried to recall what happened. I did not know how I got into this situation. I was asleep; that was all I was. I remember a person walking in, and I thought it was Jaxon.

"We had an argument." I began as I slowly recalled everything.

"You left and I felt sad that I was losing you and walked to the window only to see you happily chatting with someone on the phone and felt even more angry with myself for always getting angry at you, you drove off without even looking back and I felt more like a shut down as I rush to my bed and cried but then I felt a sharp needle pierce my skin and I slept off." I said to him as his eyes widen like he was shocked.
