Chapter 607: Chapter 607 Lesson 1

"Just this?" Upon hearing that "Dexter" didn’t even provide his last name, the teacher slightly raised her eyebrows, and Dexter calmly nodded:

"Yes, that’s right."

Although she knew most transfer students had their issues, the teacher hadn’t expected this seemingly normal boy to start causing trouble from his self-introduction.

Taking a deep breath, the teacher sighed:

"So, does anyone have any questions?"

"Me!" A lively-looking girl raised her hand and waved, smiling brightly:

"Which school did Dexter transfer from?"

"Um... Lu’an, Pachila, Prinde, Pishute, Loraleon, Crimean Castle, Chiper, Elore..."

"Cough, cough, cough!" Listening to Dexter listing cities that ranked as the most chaotic on the planet like a menu, the teacher quickly interrupted his speech with a dry laugh:

"It seems like Dexter has been to many countries, do you have any hobbies?"

As soon as she spoke, the teacher almost wanted to slap herself, fearing the student might blurt out something shocking again. However, to her surprise, Dexter simply smiled and replied:

"My hobbies are instruments and painting, and I hope to pursue a career in design."

"Alright, let’s give a round of applause to welcome the new classmate. Um, Dexter, your height is quite good, how about your eyesight?" the teacher scanned the classroom and asked. Feng Xue knew what she meant and naturally responded:

"My eyesight is pretty good, I have no problem sitting in the back."

"That’s good; there’s an empty seat in the second-to-last row, you can sit there for now and we’ll adjust if necessary. Nana Mei, take care of the new student, okay?" the teacher shouted to the girl who was likely to become Dexter’s desk mate. The girl immediately responded.

Dexter looked toward the voice and saw a girl with orange mid-length hair, who appeared energetic.

Once Feng Xue sat down, the official bell rang, and the class teacher knocked on the podium, spreading out the teaching plan:

"Alright, let’s start the class. Dexter, if you have any questions, you can ask after class."

Saying this, the teacher didn’t delay, immediately opening the textbook and starting to write what seemed to be an excerpt from a Budha Ali classical poem on the blackboard, reading it in a melodious tone.

The classroom was quite silent for that moment when suddenly, a paper note was passed over —

[Dexter, did you study in Lu’an before?]

Glancing at the text on the note, Dexter stealthily looked at his desk mate and then picked up his pen, pretending to be taking notes as he wrote underneath:

[Yes, want to see the student ID from Lu’an Experimental Middle School?]

"Really, can I?" The girl known as Nana Mei looked at the note, her eyes immediately lighting up. However, remembering they were still in class, she quickly covered her mouth, straightened up, and checked if the teacher was still writing on the board before heaving a sigh of relief and continuing the note chat:

[I heard that Lu’an was one of the first places to be attacked by the "Heavenly Court"?]

[It seems so, but by then I had already transferred to Elore.] Dexter’s pen swiftly moved across the page. Looking at this somewhat familiar yet very strange city name, Nana Mei took a few seconds to remember that this was likely a coastal city in White Forest Country, immediately asking curiously:

[The White Forest Country one? I’ve heard that people from White Forest Country are all muscular men, is that true?]

"Yes, it’s from White Forest, but saying they are all muscular strongmen is a bit biased. Although the culture in White Forest is about fitness, not everyone just eats chicken breasts and drinks protein shakes. Your statement is like the myth from Budha Ali that every woman there has tattoos..."

Seeing what Dexter wrote, Nana Mei’s face turned red, and she immediately wrote:

"That’s a magic pattern, used to enhance meditation efficiency. It’s removable, and why would you have such an impression?!"

"Who knows?" Dexter left a meaningful reply, and Nana Mei’s expression suddenly became subtle—all understood that she actually knew the reason.

However, just when Nana Mei wanted to change the subject and avoid this embarrassing impression related to certain films and TV shows, the teacher’s voice suddenly rang out:

"Dexter, come read this section!"

Dexter heard this, immediately stood up, and looking at the blackboard, said:

"Heaven and earth intertwined, twilight dyed with fire, Titan peaks, thunder flickering, armies subdued... (Budha Ali ancient language)"

"Very good, Dexter. Your Budha Ali language is quite impressive," the teacher nodded in satisfaction, and then said,

"Now, try to translate what this sentence means."

As these words fell, a multitude of gazes from the class were cast towards him, and what the classmates saw was Dexter’s confident expression.

He brought his fist close to his mouth, coughed twice, and then, chest out and head held high, in a somewhat translation-influenced tone, he said:

"The horizon, dropped with incendiary bombs, resembles the red of an evening glow; the Typhon Type Titan, like mountains in stature, activates its Thunder Type City Breaker Cannon in sweeping mode, and all enemy forces have no choice but to surrender to this powerful firepower... Hmm, the Typhon Type Titan, I recall it was deployed thirty years ago during the White Rose War, was this article written by a war correspondent on the battlefield of the White Rose War?"

As his words fell, time seemed to freeze in the already quiet classroom, until about three seconds later, the room erupted with insane laughter.

"Ahem..."

For the sake of teacher’s dignity, trying to suppress the laughter, the teacher coughed twice more and in a slightly off-tune voice said:

"Well, pfft, ahem, Dexter, this article is a manuscript by a Budha Ali poet from nine hundred years ago. In Budha Ali ancient language, adjectives are placed after nouns, so here, ’Titan’ refers to the Titans in Budha Ali mythology, used to describe the grandeur of the mountains, not using mountains to describe Titans. Similarly, ’twilight dyed with fire’ means the twilight resembles flames, not that flames resemble twilight..."

As the teacher continued, the laughter gradually was suppressed, but seeing the teacher seriously explain, the classmates laughed even harder. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Then, the one who was laughing hardest had their head split open.

Seeing this, the previously composed teacher immediately shut his mouth, hurried back to his desk, and pressed a button. Almost instantly, a voice followed:

"What’s going on?"

"A student in class 2-1 laughed their head open!"

"Understood!"

After a brief conversation, hurried footsteps soon arrived, and the student, whose head had laughed into a hole, was promptly carried out on a stretcher. After everyone else dared not laugh any further, the teacher took a deep breath and said:

"Although we have comprehensive emergency measures in place at school, everyone should not neglect common sense! Got it? Okay, let’s continue with the class."

After speaking, the teacher continued to explain poetry analysis, but Dexter, stunned, stared at the spot where the student had been carried away and said incredulously:

"What’s this? Died laughing? Or mind blown wide open? But there isn’t even a ’convertible’ here?!"
