Marvel's master of cosmic magic-Chapter 785
Roselle stood on the grass outside the mausoleum, studying Rowan Mercer and Klein Moretti.
"So... you both know the truth now?"
They nodded.
"You know this is Earth. That there was never any other world. That we didn’t transmigrate. And that there’s no way back."
They nodded again.
Bernadette stared at the three of them, completely lost.
"Transmigrate? Earth? No way back? What are you talking about?"
Roselle sighed.
"I didn’t want to burden you with this before, but there’s no reason to hide it anymore."
He began explaining.
He spoke of a time before the First Epoch.
Of a world filled with machines, electricity, and science.
Of waking up in this age believing he had crossed into another universe.
Of clinging to the hope that one day he could return home.
"Everything changed after I reached the moon," Roselle said quietly. "When I saw the planet from space... I realized this is Earth. The same Earth. Just unimaginably far in the future."
Bernadette felt her throat tighten.
"I sensed danger when I stepped onto the moon," Roselle continued. "But I never imagined I was being contaminated."
He gave a bitter smile.
"I only realized something was wrong after others started reacting strangely to me. That’s when I began searching for a way out."
He turned to Rowan.
"I switched pathways and aimed for the Black Emperor. My plan was to use death and resurrection to purge the contamination."
He shook his head.
"The being that infected me isn’t a normal god. It’s an outer god, stronger than true gods. Even if I resurrected, I’d just be corrupted again."
"So I stopped. I hid here. And waited."
Rowan nodded.
"The one who contaminated you is called the Mother of Corruption."
He briefly summarized what he knew.
Roselle’s eyes widened.
"So that explains everything... I must have been tainted the moment I discovered this island. That led to my connection with Gate. And Gate lured me to the moon."
He exhaled.
"He’s probably in worse shape than I am."
"I’ve contacted Gate," Rowan said. "He’s nearly lost all sanity."
Roselle looked at them seriously.
"Thank you. Truly. You didn’t have to come. But you did."
Klein shrugged.
"Thank Rowan. I’m basically a spectator."
Rowan smiled.
"We’re from the same place. And Bernadette paid me too."
"I know about the wishing lamp," Roselle said. "It’s valuable. But it doesn’t equal the risk you took."
Then he grew thoughtful.
"I heard you’re collecting the Blasphemy Cards. I can give you all the knowledge for every pathway. All twenty-two."
He looked at Rowan.
"What pathway are you on?"
"Seer," Rowan replied. "I’m preparing for Sequence Four."
Roselle froze.
Bernadette froze.
"...What?"
"Brother," Roselle said slowly, "don’t tell me you’re only Sequence Five right now."
Bernadette stared at Rowan as if he’d just insulted reality itself.
A Sequence Five who had repelled an outer god.
A Sequence Five who erased god-level corruption.
That made no sense.
At all.
Rowan released his concealment.
The aura of a genuine Sequence Five spread outward.
"I really am Sequence Five," he said calmly. "I just have some... external advantages. You can call them cheat abilities."
Roselle burst out laughing.
"I spent years hoping I’d awaken a cheat ability after reincarnating. Never happened."
He sighed dramatically.
"Life is unfair."
But his eyes were bright.
Rowan’s existence meant hope.
Not just for him.
But for the entire world.
