Marvel: The Ultimate Superman-Chapter 220 - 219. Deadpool Crashes the Party
Chapter 220: 219. Deadpool Crashes the Party
----
Nolan stood alone amidst the wreckage.
Cracks splintered through the grounds of the X-Mansion, smoke curling from the scorched earth. Mutant elite warriors, seasoned X-Men, lay scattered and groaning across the battlefield.
"Too weak," Nolan muttered, eyes flicking to Emma Frost. "After all these years, and you still haven’t broken the Earth-tier mental threshold. Charles really is carrying this team."
Despite her youthful appearance, Emma was older than even Xavier. Her mutation had kept her appearance frozen in time but not her progress, it seemed.
"Wasted potential," Nolan added. "Two X-Genes, and you still don’t understand the magnitude of what you are. You’re just another underused resource."
With a grunt, he hurled Colossus and Juggernaut like twin wrecking balls at Magneto.
Steel tore upward from the earth in response to Erik’s signature.
Clang!
The two bodies slammed into hastily formed steel barricades, shields crafted from surrounding debris. Erik’s control was precise, instinctual.
But it wasn’t enough.
Nolan punched through the barrier with a single blow.
He stepped through smoke and shrapnel toward the last defenders.
"Enough!" Storm roared.
She unleashed a hurricane lightning forked through black clouds, and a cyclone screamed through the battlefield. Dust whipped into a stormfront, tearing chunks of earth free.
But Nolan walked forward, unbothered. Lightning crackled over his skin and fizzled out.
He was the storm’s anchor.
Unmoving.
Unbreakable.
His armored boots thudded across the ground like a war drum, each step pounding into the hearts of those who still stood.
"You think you can control my suit?" he said calmly, turning to Erik. "Rapid internal demagnetization. Plus, I control electromagnetism myself. You’re not a threat, Magneto. You’re a relic."
The ground surged again. A violet teleportation portal opened behind Nolan but was instantly canceled by a ring of golden light. The two gateways collapsed in on each other.
"Clever. But clumsy," Nolan said, turning to Blink. "You use your power like a child playing with scissors."
Blink froze just long enough for a mental disruption wave to ripple from Nolan’s palm. A pale flash hit her, and she went rigid, stepping dazedly toward him.
"Damn you!" Erik’s voice cracked with rage as thousands of metal shards screamed toward Nolan in a deathstorm.
Nolan didn’t move.
They simply bounced off his suit shards scattering like confetti at a parade.
He turned to Emma Frost. "You’re coming with me."
A golden energy tether snapped out and bound her mid-air. Her body shifted to diamond form instantly, but even that couldn’t stop the binding.
Charles reacted.
His mind lashed out like a tidal wave a full-force psychic strike that could have shattered most sorcerers.
Nolan staggered slightly.
"Impressive," he admitted, rubbing his temple. "Still the strongest of them all."
"I won’t let you take her," Xavier growled.
"I’m not killing her," Nolan said. "I’m taking her for research. I need to understand how two active X-Genes coexist in one body."
Charles faltered.
That... was curiosity?
"You’ve grown," he muttered, realizing just how strong Nolan’s mental defenses had become. Even in Charles’s prime, few could have resisted that strike.
Then came the others.
One by one, new figures appeared across the lawn Sunspot, Domino, Cannonball, and...
Deadpool.
Nolan raised an eyebrow.
Well then.
The entire mutant cinematic universe was turning up.
X-Men. X-Force. New Mutants. A genetic buffet.
Students whispered from the shadows.
"Who is that guy?!"
"He took down the entire X-Men team like it was nothing..."
"I think he’s with Oscorp! Isn’t he that ’Superman’ guy?"
"He made the healing spray... He saved my dad when I lost control of my powers!"
The legend of Nolan was already in their minds. And now, seeing him here, untouchable, cemented it.
Then a voice cut through the moment.
"Hey! Hey! Big guy!"
Deadpool.
Wade Wilson sauntered out of the crowd, katanas sheathed, mask slightly tilted, red and black suit stained with taco grease. "Can we not go all Mortal Kombat Fatality right now?"
Nolan turned slowly.
Deadpool grinned beneath his mask. "Look, I get it. You’re powerful. I mean, really powerful. Like ’Thanos on CrossFit’ is powerful."
Wade pointed toward Colossus. "You chucked my favorite metal man like a lawn dart. Rude."
He squinted at Nolan.
"Wait a sec... Do I know you? You’re like, off-brand Superman meets Lex Luthor meets Doomguy with better skincare."
Nolan just stared.
Deadpool walked a little closer. "Have you ever met Spider-Man? Big fan. We go way back. Also, do you know a guy named Clark? My cousin says you two might have beef."
Nolan finally cracked a grin. "You mean your cousin... Slade? Deathstroke?"
Deadpool froze.
That wasn’t supposed to be a real connection.
"...You know Slade?"
"I do," Nolan said simply. "Mercenary. Uses swords. Steel mask. Drinks black coffee."
Deadpool blinked under the mask. "Oh my God. You’re real. YOU’RE ACTUALLY REAL."
He turned to the Readers. "GUYS. We’re in a crossover event!"
