Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 78 : The Scarlet Confrontation
Chapter 78 - 78 : The Scarlet Confrontation
In the early morning, the station hall in Westview Town was a bit cold. A few weary travelers lay sprawled across the benches in the waiting area, drowsily anticipating the arrival of the next train.
The flight attendants sitting nearby, previously preoccupied with their phones, suddenly straightened up when the sound of an approaching train filled the station.
In a dimly lit corner, flickering crimson light momentarily illuminated the space as two figures carrying suitcases materialized from thin air.
"Finn, I used this magic for the first time, and it worked!"
Wanda's voice was laced with excitement as she scanned her surroundings, a bright smile tugging at the corners of her lips. Her small, snow-white canine teeth peeked through as she beamed at Finn.
"That's why I said witches have extraordinary abilities," Finn replied, patting her head. He picked up the suitcase, his voice dropping to a calm, steady tone. "The bus will be here soon. Let's go."
"Mhm."
Wanda checked the time—only a few minutes before they could board. She clenched her fists, determination flashing in her eyes. She had to get away from her, had to stay far from that impostor. And when the time came, Stephen would send her back where she belonged.
But just as she reached for Finn's hand, her entire body froze.
A familiar, chilling voice echoed behind them.
"Finn, where are you going with her?"
The moment those words reached her ears, Wanda felt her eyelashes tremble slightly. Her usually sharp and confident gaze filled with shock as she instinctively clung to Finn's arm.
She took a slow, measured breath before turning around.
And there she was.
Standing in the dim station lights, bathed in an eerie crimson glow, was herself.
The Wanda she had met earlier that day at the manor.
But this time, she wasn't wearing her dark, ominous robes. Instead, she was dressed casually—jeans, boots, a fitted jacket that accentuated her figure.
It made her look more... human.
But Wanda wasn't fooled.
Her counterpart's cold, calculating stare sent a chill down her spine.
"Hello," the other Wanda greeted with a smile. Yet her voice was void of warmth, her piercing gaze enough to make anyone uneasy.
This Wanda wasn't like her.
She had suffered more.
And it showed.
She was as cold as frost, her presence suffocating like a snowstorm. Unlike Wanda, whose magic still retained traces of innocence and raw emotion, this Wanda had been through hell—and she carried that hell with her.
"Who wants to see you..." Wanda muttered under her breath, pressing herself closer to Finn. Her fingers tightened around his sleeve, her grip tense.
Finn exhaled quietly. He had expected this.
He knew another Wanda would come.
What surprised him, however, was that she hadn't attacked them yet.
He had already prepared himself for a fight. He wasn't sure how powerful this Wanda was, but if she was anything like the Wanda who had torn through reality looking for her children, then she was dangerously close to being a god.
This wasn't someone he could simply dismiss.
And yet, she hadn't made a move.
Why?
What was holding her back?
Finn took a half-step forward, carefully placing himself between his Wanda and the imposter. His voice was low, but steady.
"What do you want?"
"You already know," the other Wanda said coolly. "You don't belong to her. You belong to me."
Finn sighed. "You're wrong. I'm not your Finn."
"Aren't you?"
The other Wanda tilted her head slightly, her crimson irises glowing faintly in the dim light.
"You didn't seem to think that when you were holding me at the manor."
The Wanda beside Finn stiffened.
"Finn, you were holding her?"
Her voice turned sharp with disbelief. Her eyes narrowed as her mind immediately conjured up an image—Finn embracing this other Wanda, maybe even gazing at her the way he gazed at her.
Just the thought made her stomach churn.
She felt an overwhelming urge to bite him.
"Witch, she's manipulating you."
Finn flicked her forehead lightly, forcing her out of her thoughts.
Her lips twitched in annoyance.
What made it worse was the sheer contrast between them.
Her own Wanda was fiery, emotional, expressive—like a feral kitten, always baring her teeth.
But this Wanda?
She was controlled. Poised. Calculated.
If this were a battle of wits, his Wanda would be eaten alive.
Experiences really did shape people.
And in this case, it had created a monster.
"Finn, move away from her," the other Wanda ordered, her voice now laced with something darker.
It wasn't a request.
It was a threat.
"Please understand something," Wanda snapped back, her fingers curling as crimson energy crackled at her fingertips. "He is mine!"
The witch stepped in front of Finn, her aura flaring.
Her long hair lifted slightly from the raw magic gathering around her, her usually warm brown eyes now glowing a deep, haunting red.
The other Wanda remained unfazed.
"Is he?"
She took a single step forward.
"Can you really protect him?"
The words struck a nerve.
Wanda faltered, her expression wavering for a split second.
Because she knew what the other Wanda was referring to.
Finn's death.
In another universe.
Maybe in every universe.
Her fingers twitched.
Finn had told her that no two universes were identical. That just because something happened elsewhere didn't mean it would happen here.
But the probability...
The thought alone sent a sharp, unbearable ache through her chest.
"You can't protect him," the other Wanda whispered. "I couldn't either. That's why you should let him go."
"No!"
Wanda's magic surged violently, distorting the air around her.
The station trembled.
The other Wanda watched in silence, then exhaled softly.
"Finn, you owe me something."
Finn stiffened.
"You promised me a kiss at the manor."
The witch beside him choked.
"You what—"
"There's no one here now," the other Wanda continued, ignoring her counterpart's outrage. "Can you give it to me?"
Finn barely had time to react before he felt a sharp pinch at his waist.
He winced.
The witch's eyes were burning with fury.
He was so screwed.

"Absolutely not!" he answered quickly.
The pinching stopped.
The other Wanda tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable.
"If she wasn't here, would you?"
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Wanda growled.
Finn immediately grabbed her hand, pulling her back.
The other Wanda's gaze softened.
Her voice, for the first time, carried an unmistakable sadness.
"You're my Finn," she murmured. "Because you will never betray her."
For a moment, silence settled between them.
Then she exhaled.
"I'll take you home soon, Finn."
Before he could react, her body dissolved into a crimson mist, vanishing into the night.
The only proof of her presence was the few scattered leaves at their feet.
Wanda stared blankly at the ground.
"She just... left."
She hugged Finn tightly.
She could feel how much the other Wanda loved him.
Because it was the same way she did.
"No one can take me from you," Finn murmured, squeezing her gently.
He picked up one of the withered leaves. The moment he touched it, it crumbled to dust, a faint scent of decay lingering in the air.
"She's powerful," he muttered.
More powerful than he had expected.
But then why was she holding back?
An unsettling thought crept into his mind.
And for the first time, Finn found himself genuinely worried.
