Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Collision Between Martial Skills

"Good, good... stand there and watch properly. If these juniors want to fight, let them fight. If you meddle again..." His tone didn’t change, but the weight in his voice made their knees almost buckle. "I won’t be polite next time."

The Immortal Ascension Boundary masters from Purple Fern Valley and the Bai Family all looked at each other with faces filled with shock and frustration. If no one was watching they would have cried tears of frustration and sadness.

"Y-yes!" the two masters answered in unison, not daring to raise their heads.

Meng Wu Ya turned back to the center of the courtyard, as if nothing had happened. He rubbed his beard, looking at Yang Kai with eyes that flickered with a rare trace of satisfaction.

This brat... how many more surprises will you give this old man?

During this brief delay, whether it was Yang Kai’s Star Mark, or Bai Yun Feng’s Heaven Gathering Meteor, both had fully condensed. These two martial skills both had many similarities; while they were extremely lethal, they both requiring a short time to coalesce.

In just a few breaths of time, their respective momentum had reached its peak!

"Yang Kai!" Bai Yun Feng screamed as he glared angrily at him.

"Come!" Yang Kai responded, unafraid.

Deep inside, his Undying Immortal Body pulsed quietly — mending wounds as fast as they came. He had no reason to fear. Pain meant nothing. He would stand again, no matter what.

But Bai Yun Feng was not like him. If he lost this clash, he would be crippled at best — dead at worst. And everyone here would see it.

Like an exploding sun, a flash of light so brilliant burst forth that everyone was forced to shield their eyes, only the Immortal Ascension Boundary masters with their Divine Senses could still clearly observe. Whether it was Yang Kai or Bai Yun Feng, the Yuan Qi in their bodies both became chaotic while their breaths stifled; a violent bang was heard as they both flew out in opposite directions.

Yang Kai tumbled through the air, hit the ground hard, rolled once, and rose again on one knee. His arm hung limp and bloody, bone showing white for a breath before his Undying Immortal Body forced the wound to mend. His chest heaved raggedly, but his eyes stayed sharp and cold, fixed on his opponent like blades drawn but not yet sheathed.

Across from him, Bai Yun Feng smashed into the far wall. The stone behind him cracked like a spiderweb under the blow. His robes were in tatters, hair scattered wildly, eyes wide with disbelief and pain.

But he was alive.

A faint flicker of silver light shimmered on his chest, then cracked apart like glass — a protective artifact, a life-saving treasure from the Bai Family. It had absorbed the worst of Yang Kai’s strike. Without it, he would already be a corpse slumped against the courtyard stones.

Yet even so, Bai Yun Feng’s mouth spilled fresh blood. His limbs twitched uselessly. It was clear to everyone that the artifact had saved his life — but could not save his dignity. The force of the blow had shattered his bones in multiple places, his meridians a tangled mess. Whether he would ever walk the same path of cultivation again was anyone’s guess.

Everyone’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

The battle from start to finish was never an even fight. But the end result was that the one with lower strength had won, thoroughly surprising everyone present.

------

Yang Kai eyes, still locked on Bai Yun Feng’s limp figure slumped against the shattered wall, remained cold and indifferent — but deep in that calm, a flicker of killing intent burned brighter by the second.

He knew better than anyone what would happen if he left it like this. Bai Yun Feng was beaten, humiliated, half-crippled — but he was still the Bai Family’s young master. If he crawled away alive today, that humiliation would turn to hatred. The Bai Family would not forget. Neither would Bai Yun Feng.

Future trouble. A snake that could bite once its fangs grew back.

Yang Kai rose to his feet, every step crunching broken stone underfoot as he moved forward — straight toward Bai Yun Feng. His breathing was calm but his killing intent rolled out like a blade pressed against the necks of everyone watching.

"Young Lord please have mercy!" The two Immortal Ascension Experts from the Bai Family begged desperately in an effort to try and save their Young Master. Having been previously suppressed by Meng Wu Ya, they did not dare to move, but at such an intense risk of losing the family’s young master, they did not hesitate crying out.

While they shouted, they ran towards the two.

Meng Wu Ya did not stop them.

The two Immortal Ascension masters moved like lightning, one instantly appearing in front of Yang Kai while the other grabbed Bai Yun Feng, quickly pulling him back.

Yang Kai scanned the two Bai Family experts, slowly lowering his stance. With these two on guard, it would impossible for him to finish off Bai Yun Feng.

"Young Lord, this humble servant asks you to show mercy, you have proven that your skills are superior to our Young Master. He is defeated!" These Immortal Ascension masters cringed as they pleaded. Though their tone was mixed with dissatisfaction, they dared not show any disrespect.

Yang Kai stared at them and hesitated.

Kill him now, and the Bai Family will chase me to the ends of the world, Yang Kai thought. Leave him alive with nothing? That would be foolish.

A single flicker of thought. His Divine Sense rippled like a breath.

Go.

Under his sleeve, a tiny black speck — so small it could be mistaken for lint — slipped free. Riding the faint swirl of Yuan Qi, it drifted forward unseen. The protectors’ eyes stayed glued to Yang Kai’s face, missing the instant when the speck touched Bai Yun Feng’s forehead and vanished into him like a drop of ink into clear water.

Deep inside Bai Yun Feng’s Sea of Consciousness, the Heaven Devouring Insect settled in — hidden, silent, wrapped in his Divine Sense like a shadow clinging to the dark. Waiting.

Someday, if you come for me again... I’ll know. And when I will it, you’ll wish you’d died here today.

He straightened, voice level. "Take him. I’ve no more time for trash."

The name of the Bai Family was tarnished. The experts of the family no longer had any face to salvage.

The two Immortal Ascension Boundary masters quickly left, dragging Bai Yun Feng along.

Watching the events unfold, the Purple Fern Valley’s people dared not stay.

Dong Qing Han and the Wind and Cloud Dual Guards followed suit. As they departed, Dong Qing Han glanced at Yang Kai, still unable to recover from the shocking result.

Yang Kai didn’t linger, he turned and walked away.
