Martial Era: Starting With The Strongest Talent-Chapter 159: Spar With Felecia
To be honest, Felecia was excited.
Fighting monsters was routine but fighting prodigies?
That was fun.
The thrill of testing someone who grew at an absurd rate, that was what she lived for.
As she rolled her shoulders, she grinned.
Where did Angel even find him?
At this rate, the kid would surpass her sooner than later.
And that?
She refused to accept.
She stepped forward and lifted her chin.
"Come at me when you’re ready."
Adam nodded once.
Then he vanished from where he stood.
He reappeared in front of her, fist already flying.
Felecia raised her right hand and blocked casually.
BOOM!
The impact was thunderous, but she didn’t move.
"I suggest you take this seriously," she said lightly.
Adam met her eyes.
"Who said I wasn’t?"
"Rapid Charge."
Lightning exploded across his body and his next strike landed instantly.
This time,
Felecia slid back half a step and her palm stung faintly.
A small scorch mark appeared on her skin and her grin widened.
"Now that’s more like it."
Her essence flared, the pressure in the training room spiked and behind her, a Four-Star Heavenly Spirit manifested. It was a towering warrior clad in divine fury and raw force, that caused the air to tremble.
Adam didn’t comment.
He simply adjusted his stance, as felecia drew her fist back.
The spirit mirrored her movement.
"Force Impact."
A massive wave of compressed force tore through the room toward Adam, cracking the floor in its wake, as judgment materialized in his hand, and he swung at the attack.
The force wave split cleanly in half.
But then another followed and another.
Adam carved through each one, closing the distance with precise steps.
Felecia’s eyes sharpened.
As he entered her range, she drove her fist toward his face.
Adam tilted his head and the punch missed by inches.
But the air behind him shattered from the pressure alone.
He countered instantly.
Judgement swept toward her neck.
Clang!
Gauntlets snapped over Felecia’s forearms as she blocked the strike.
Sparks burst at the point of contact.
"Since you’re using a weapon..."
Her spirit tightened its stance.
"It wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t use mine."
The temperature in the room rose and the gauntlets around Felecia’s fists shimmered.
Champion Gold Conduit.
As an expert, that was the highest grade she could wield.
Champion Gold had two categories.
Category One granted +3 star power.
Category Two granted +4.
And Felecia’s was Category Two.
The air around her fists thickened.
Her aura surged.
Adam felt the shift immediately.
Her output just jumped and she didn’t waste the boost.
She attacked.
One punch.
Two.
Three.
Each strike detonated like a compressed cannon blast.
Adam met them head-on.
Judgement clashed against her gauntlets again and again.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Shockwaves rippled across the reinforced floor.
Even with Bone Generation reinforcing his frame, Adam felt his skeleton vibrate from the force.
A punch slipped past his guard.
It slammed into his chest.
Bone constructs erupted instinctively to absorb the impact.
But the force still launched him backward and as he spun midair, his Profound Spirit flared behind him.
"Wind Carnage: Requiem!"
A massive wind blade tore toward her.
"Force Impact!"
Felecia answered instantly.
Her punch collided with the wind blade.
BOOM!
The explosion rocked the entire training room.
Dust rose, tiles cracked and when the smoke cleared...
They stood a few feet apart, their breathing still steady, as the air between them trembled.
Outside, footsteps hurried down the corridor and the door to the training room slid open.
Ivy and Remedy stepped in, drawn by the violent shockwaves.
However Ivy froze, as her eyes widened.
Adam was matching Felecia.
Blow for blow.
She couldn’t reconcile what she was seeing.
That’s Felecia and Adam wasn’t losing.
As for Remedy she didn’t speak.
But one thought flashed across her mind.
He’s already equipped it.
Back in the arena, felecia rolled her shoulders.
Adam adjusted his grip on Judgement.
Neither looked away.
Then, they moved again.
And the room shook once more before they broke apart at the same time.
Dust drifted between them.
"You’re still not going all out."
Felecia snorted.
"You wouldn’t be able to handle me at full power."
Adam smirked.
"Try me."
She held his gaze for a long second.
Then her lips curved.
"Don’t blame me for what happens next."
Adam didn’t answer.
He didn’t need to.
The air changed and felecia’s essence flared.
But this time, her Heavenly Spirit did not manifest.
Instead, the essence rushed inward.
Into her body.
Her physique activated.
"Blessed Purgatory."
A crimson aura exploded from her frame.
Her dirty blonde hair bled into deep blood-red.
Heat rolled off her skin in waves.
The pressure in the room skyrocketed.
Adam felt it clearly.
So this is a physique...
It was his first time seeing one activated in real combat.
A physique, like a special talent or bloodline, was a rare gift.
Only a few martial artists awakened one and they granted massive boosts.
Their were four grades.
Blessed.
Sacred.
Exalted.
Transcendent.
Purgatory was only Blessed, yet the power spike was absurd.
Now she was using her full star power potential.
The floor beneath her feet cracked.
But Adam didn’t retreat, he was impressed but not intimidated.
Judgement spun once in his hand.
Felecia stepped forward...
Then vanished.
As she reappeared in front of him, fist already descending like a falling meteor.
Adam didn’t hold back either.
"Disable."
The word barely left Adam’s lips
And Felecia felt it instantly.
One moment she was moving like a blazing comet.
The next...
It was like a mountain had dropped onto her shoulders.
Her fist still came down, but the speed was wrong.
Adam tilted his head and stepped aside casually and the punch that should have shattered reinforced flooring sliced through empty air.
Felecia’s eyes widened.
She threw another punch and this time Adam caught it easily.
Her gauntlet trembled in his grip.
That shouldn’t have been possible.
Even without her physique, that blow would’ve been dangerous.
Now?
It felt... muted.
"What did you do to me?" she demanded, shock bleeding into her voice.
Adam released her fist and stepped back lightly.
"Just a new trick I learned."
His gaze flickered briefly and her star power glowed in his vision.
Star Power: 39
It had dropped by ten.
Even with Blessed Purgatory active.
