Chapter 847: Army of Hunters

The time flowed differently in the Martial Arts World, and the Afterlife—the time moved faster in the Martial Arts World.

And therefore.

It had already been a week since Kiernan disappeared from the Martial Arts World and had gone off to the Afterlife.

"Cough~ Cough~!"

Currently in the hospital.

Coughing sickly, Ellie struggled to keep her eyes open, and she looked really unwell, and the doctors were constantly taking care of her.

Standing outside the room, looking through the window, Aoi watched with tears in her eyes as her daughter suffered.

"...Where the hell is he?"

Bella bit her lips as she tried contacting Kiernan only to fail, as if he had completely disappeared.

"He is definitely somewhere trying to find a cure for this. He wouldn’t just disappear without a good reason. I am sure he’ll be back soon."

Karma said with a serious look on his face.

"Her daughter has been constantly asking for her father. And all we could tell her was that she can’t meet him right now. She feels abandoned.

"It is incredibly irresponsible of Kiernan to just leave without saying a word!"

Bella said angrily.

She was definitely going to discipline her son for this, as he was just gone for ten whole years—the entire early life of Ellie—and he was again gone.

"Don’t be angry at him... He’ll be back..." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Aoi said with a weak voice.

Her grandfather, Arakawa Raizen, had also come after hearing about his granddaughter’s sudden sickness.

They had brought knowledge of many different religions here—to try to find a way to cure her—as well as many of the world’s best doctors.

Yet, even still, they hadn’t been capable of doing anything. They hadn’t even been able to reduce her fever.

The time was ticking...

...

World Seas, near the border of the Dead World, thousands of the navy ships had taken their positions there.

Ever since Metsudo came here, they put all of the navy’s army might to guard the Dead World so that nobody else would be able to slip out unnoticed.

"...Hmm?"

"...Where the hell did this fog come from? It’s so thick... I can’t see fricking anything..."

"...The fog is also cold. Why is it so goddamn cold? It looks like it is coming from the Dead World as well!"

The navy soldiers talked among themselves.

It confused everybody on the ships—from ordinary navy soldier to cabin boy to cook to the captain—they didn’t like whenever something unnatural happened in these seas.

It always meant bad news.

At that moment.

"Huh? I see someone!"

"...What the hell? Is that person walking on the sea? What in the world is going on? That person is definitely walking on the surface of the water!"

They saw a person walk out of the fog. As if she were as light as a feather. She, for some reason, didn’t fall into the sea.

One of the newly appointed Navy Admirals used a spyglass and zoomed in towards the person—his breath abruptly stopped.

The person was gorgeous.

With silvery hair, a gown that perfectly accentuated her figure, and radiant skin that seemed to glow in the sun.

"What a beautiful person... She must be some kind of anomaly created by the ocean. This can be dangerous. She might be a monster."

The Navy Admiral said with a levelheaded look.

He didn’t lose his reasoning like other young navy soldiers would but instead stayed calm and came to a rational conclusion.

Somebody might’ve acted like she might be needing help as she was all alone, but it was obvious she wasn’t normal.

Normal people wouldn’t be able to walk on water!

The navy ships pointed their massive searchlight out towards the figure—highlighting her in all of her glory—and some of the young navy soldiers were smitten at the sight of her.

"Halt right there, young lady. State your name and what your business is here. Where did you come from?"

The Navy Admiral asked.

They had found out that Dead World’s citizens had red skin. She didn’t. However, they didn’t rule out the possibility that she was that place’s citizen.

There were people—just like Metsudo—who carried different kinds of skin colors.

"..."

Mercedes looked over to them.

And then she smiled.

It looked gorgeous to some. Confusing to others. And scary to the selected few that had a bad feeling about this.

She spread her arms wide—almost like she was a bird spreading her wings—and she then started dissolving.

Her body turned into bullets—round black bullets from Earth—and they then started flying through the air.

"PREPARE FOR IMPACT!"

The Navy Admiral shouted with a frightened look, and he used his Martial Ability—the Wall of Heroics—that was one big wall of the hardest rock found in the world.

The more heroic deeds he achieved, the stronger the wall would be, and he had done many heroic deeds.

Yet, in front of these bullets, there was nothing his wall was capable of doing, as they shredded right through.

"?!?!"

The Navy Admiral’s eyes stayed wide open as one of the bullets pierced through his forehead.

The rest of the bullets shred through the ships. Through the soldiers. And riddled everyone with bloody holes.

And in just a second, the mighty army of the navy got completely destroyed without them being capable of doing anything.

The bullets kept flying. But then they stopped. And they formed back into the gorgeous-looking woman.

"Giggle~"

Mercedes giggled as she effortlessly landed back on the water and danced like a ballerina with the wind whipping her hair in every direction.

Beautiful. Deadly. Scary.

That’s who Mercedes Rosburg was.

...

The Hell, Castle of the Death.

"...They have all died."

The Reaper said.

He didn’t show a reaction. It was just silent disbelief. As he couldn’t believe what had just transpired.

To give a clear report to Death, he went to witness the fight between Kiernan Hunter and the three Head Reapers.

The fight lasted one hour. It started with Head Reapers winning. It then turned even. And then Kiernan destroyed them.

Death stood silently facing the window.

"Hmm... Is that so..."

He said.

It sounded calmer than the Reaper thought it would, and he looked over but couldn’t see Death’s face.

"That’s fine... I’ve actually hired new Reapers just recently. They also have history with Kiernan. I’ve summoned them here.

"They’re waiting outside. Inform them about their task. And then come to report back to me once they’ve finished fighting."

Death said.

’New Reapers? But if the Head Reapers couldn’t do shit... What can they do? Isn’t it about time for you, Death, to do something!’

The Reaper screamed inwardly.

It was, of course, something that he didn’t dare to say aloud as he would die if he did, so he just nodded, and walked out.

Thump! Thump!

The heavy double doors closed. The throne room turned empty. He was now all alone here.

"Ahhh!"

Death grabbed his head with a frightened look, and he was sweating buckets with his face turning extremely pale.

’What the fuck do you mean he killed all those Head Reapers?! They’re the closest thing to a fucking God! This is the end for me...

’He’ll fucking kill me... I need to run... I must... Those fucking morons will buy me some time. I am sure I can escape in time.

’I’ll just escape to one of the twenty realms. Good luck finding me, you moron, I am outta here!’

Death packed his bags, and without anyone noticing, jumped out of the window and started running in a completely different direction from where Kiernan was.

...

Afterlife, Cliffs of the Judgment.

"..."

Kiernan was still sitting on top of the heads of one of the deceased Head Reapers, but then, he felt something.

’They still have someone to send after me? Hmph. Once I am done with these ones, I’ll head out to find Death by myself.

’And I will drag him out of wherever he is hiding!’

He stood up and looked towards the skies.

"...Hahahahaha!"

"...We’ve returneeeeeeeeeed~"

"...Ohohohoho~ Look who we have here~ Remember us?"

Kiernan’s eyes turned cold as he saw who had just arrived and just let out a chuckle.

"I guess your life in the afterlife is rather sweet. Working for Death. I was hoping that he would send you to suffer in the purgatory.

"Well, no matter. With you all here. I’ll send you there by myself."

Kiernan said coldly.

In the skies, the former Black Knights of the Mercedes Rosburg—who he all killed—were donning the robes of the Reapers.

"I was sad since I didn’t think that we could have rematch. How lucky of me. I am also now much stronger than I was back in there. I’ve been blessed by Death."

Metsudo said with a grin.

All 30 Black Knights were here.

"My beautiful Kiernan... I hope I can be again the prison guard of your cell... I am sure we will do a lot of fun things~"

Diwa giggled.

Gaoh, Miseria, Kouketsu, and Twisted all hovered around her.

Itachi, Anathema, Mythologia, and Gu-Ru accompanied Metsudo. They were all True Gods back in the real world.

In here, they were even stronger.

And it wasn’t farfetched to say that all of the Black Knights combined were stronger than the three Head Reapers.

"I killed all of you before. I’ll do it again."

Kiernan crouched, touched a hand to the ground, and at that moment, people appeared all around them.

They all had the same face. Same gray hair. Same gray eyes. And they were all equally strong—the peak True Gods.

And there were hundreds of them!

"Mastered Iron Style... Army of Hunters."

Kiernan whispered.

It was an army of Kiernan’s. The perfect evolved version of Ghost Spring. And they weren’t just afterimages anymore.

They were real.

"...Gulp~"

Metsudo gulped, and he dryly chuckled.

’That bastard went easy on me... Is this the strength that he wanted to hide to use against Mercedes... How terrifying... With this... Maybe he can actually...’

At that moment, the Army of Kiernan’s Hunters attacked the Black Knights, and it was a slaughter as their Iron Style techniques shredded through them.

"Argh... They are all real?!"

"...Ugh..."

"HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!"

Kiernan just watched.

He didn’t move a finger.

The clones of his Hunter Army did everything by themselves. Ripping apart the Black Knights as if they were paper.

It would even make some people feel bad for the Black Knights. It was just bullying. Just like what they did to members of the Martial Order.
