Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 74: Right Now, I Just Want... to Kiss You (Part 2)
It’s really Ethan Sterling who bought her own house!
Seraphina Thorne felt both joy and touched in her heart.
She took a step forward and wrapped her arms around Ethan Sterling’s neck.
"I love it... This is the best gift I’ve ever received. Thank you, Ethan."
Growing up in this place, there were too many memories and attachments, Seraphina only regretted that she didn’t have the ability to keep this home.
"There you go again, didn’t I tell you not to be so formal with your husband?"
Ethan laughed, holding her back gently and patting softly.
"By the way, as the owner here, should you show me around a bit?"
Seraphina sniffed and wiped her eyes.
She raised her face again, her eyes still red, but her lips lifted into a smile.
"Come on, let me show you around!"
Reaching out to hold Ethan’s hand, Seraphina smiled, pulling him up the stairs, introducing the rooms one by one.
The parents’ bedroom, her brother’s study...
Finally, she led Ethan to her own bedroom door, gently pushing it open.
"This is my room, I’ve lived here since I was little."
Ethan walked in and looked around, his gaze falling on the desk.
"What’s that?"
Seraphina followed his gaze and saw the large cardboard box sitting on the desk.
Seraphina walked over, looking around.
Strange, she didn’t remember having such a box?
Could it be something gathered when the court cleaned up before?
Feeling puzzled, Seraphina reached out and flipped open the lid.
A familiar sweet aroma rushed out, and in the box, there was a large chocolate birthday cake.
On the cake, beautifully handwritten words read "Happy Birthday."
The cake had two numerical candles on it—
22!
A birthday?
22?
Seraphina froze for a moment, suddenly realizing it was her birthday today.
With so many things happening recently, she almost forgot that today she turned 22.
Assuming Ethan had specially prepared this, Seraphina turned her face to look at Ethan behind her.
"How did you know today is my birthday?"
"Silly girl, the birthdate is on the marriage certificate."
Ethan took out the already prepared wine and cups, placing them on the table.
Standing behind her, he reached out from the sides of her body.
One hand on the table, the other hand took out a lighter and lit the numerical candles on the birthday cake.
"Mrs. Sterling, make a wish!"
Seraphina recalled the figure she saw on the balcony earlier and finally understood.
The person she saw on the balcony earlier was Ethan.
To give her this surprise, he had been quietly preparing everything for her.
No wonder he insisted that the documents must be delivered to Nathan Foster today.
Filled with emotion, she turned her face to look at the man beside her, putting her hands together in front of her chest and making a serious wish.
She opened her eyes and blew out the candles with force.
Taking the glass filled with wine, Ethan gently clinked his glass with hers.
"May Mrs. Sterling find sweetness after bitterness from today on, and have everything go smoothly and as desired!"
Seraphina didn’t thank him, lifting the glass to her lips and taking a big gulp.
"Hey!" Ethan worriedly supported her arm, "Drink slowly, you’ll get drunk."
"Don’t worry about me!" Seraphina pushed away his hand, "Today is my birthday, I’m in charge!"
"Alright, you’re the boss." Ethan finished his wine, showing her his empty glass. "What’s next... what does Mrs. Sterling want to do?"
"Eat cake!"
Seraphina put down the glass and grabbed the cake knife.
Cutting a piece of the cake, she held it with both hands and offered it to him.
Ethan reached out to take it, using a spoon to scoop the chocolate on top and feeding it to her.
Seraphina didn’t hesitate, opening her mouth to accept the chocolate, her hand resting on his shoulder.
"Hubby, today..."
"I said..." Ethan raised his finger, wiping away the chocolate from her lip corner, "No thanking me!"
"Who said I was going to say thank you?" Seraphina raised her face, her gaze earnest, "Hubby, how about we stay here tonight?"
For all these years, every birthday was spent at home with her family.
This time, she didn’t want it to be any different.
"Today, it’s your birthday, you’re the boss." Ethan chuckled, "Whatever you say goes!"
She kissed him on the cheek, took the wine bottle, and refilled the glass.
"Let’s have another drink!"
"You might get drunk if you drink more."
"Let me get drunk!"
Grabbing the glass, she took another big gulp.
Tonight, she wanted to drink herself into oblivion.
"Seraphina!" Ethan worriedly grabbed her hand, "Drink slower, or your stomach might feel uncomfortable!"
Holding the glass, Seraphina tilted her head, gazing at his face.
"Hubby, why are you so good to me?"
"You’re my wife, who else would I be good to?"
"But..." Seraphina frowned, "We didn’t get married out of love?"
"Who said you have to fall in love first to get married?" Ethan laughed, "We can fall in love after marriage."
Seraphina paused, then burst into laughter.
"Nonsense, who falls in love after getting married?"
Noticing she was somewhat tipsy, Ethan reached out and took her glass.
"Alright, no more drinking."
"Let me have one more sip?" Seraphina tugged at his clothes, acting coy, "Just a little sip, please?"
"Why insist on drinking?"
"I want... to get drunk."
Ethan chuckled, "Why insist on getting drunk?"
"Because..." Seraphina reached out, circling his neck, "Tonight, I want to be a little bolder."
He had done so much for her, and the only way she could repay him was in this way.
She knew she was shy, uncomfortable with romantic matters.
Intentionally getting herself drunk, she was hoping to have the courage tonight to be a bit more proactive.
Placing the glass aside, Ethan supported her waist, smoothing her long hair that fell to the side, his fingers gently brushing her face.
"Mrs. Sterling, do you like me?"
Seraphina gazed into his face, slowly uttering two words.
"I do!"
"How much do you like me?" Ethan asked.
Seraphina tilted her head, seriously pondering.
"I don’t know."
"Well... do you want to fall in love with me?"
Seraphina shook her head lightly.
"No, I don’t."
"Why not?"
"I don’t want to fall in love again; heartbreak is too painful."
Seraphina was clearly drunk, unknowingly revealing her most genuine thoughts.
Ethan felt a pang of sadness, refraining from questioning further, gently inquiring.
"What should we do now?
Seraphina raised her hand, pushing Ethan onto the bed to sit, then straddled his legs, her hands on his shoulders.
"Right now, I just want... to kiss you!"
She reached out, encircling his neck and leaning down to kiss him proactively.
Tonight, Seraphina was exceptionally enthusiastic and proactive.
Her taste of chocolate and wine, sweetly enticing with a hint of fiery passion.
Ethan couldn’t resist any longer, he reached around, gripping her waist, turning his body to press her onto the bed.
