Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 84: I thought you didn’t want it
DAMNIT!
Not only did she miss Leo as he had already left for work but she was also late for work. She must still have to go to work but she wants to still do something for Leo at least, out of the list.
{4. Bake something for him}
She collected her phone and dialed Claire’s number.
"Hey Claire, I’m going to be turning in late today. Can you inform your mom?" Olivia pleaded.
{Sure but why?}
"Urgh, I don’t feel too good," Olivia lied, she didn’t mean to lie but she didn’t know how she was going to explain that she’ll be late all because she wants to bake something for Leo.
{Oh, really. How do you feel? Why don’t you just take the day off?}
"No, I’m sure I’ll be okay soon, nothing serious but it’s making me lazy, so I will be coming late," Olivia continued.
{Oh I understand}
Olivia hung up.
She knows what to do! She will bake a cake for him.
But they barely got to know each other better before getting married, she doesn’t know much about him. His favorite flavor or food, if he likes cake.
She freshened up and got dressed. She hurried to the kitchen where she met the cook there.
"Good morning Mrs Kayla," Olivia greeted.
"Good morning, Madam Olivia," she replied and Olivia laughed.
"I’ve told you, Olivia would do. Does my husband likes cakes?" Olivia asked.
"Yes, he does. Chocolate cakes to be precise," Mrs Kayla answered.
"Can we bake one together? So that it will be faster," Olivia smiled at the woman.
...
"Hey Leo," Zane walked into Leo’s office, a box in his hands.
"This just arrived for you," he added.
Leo looked up from his work, "What is it? From who?"
"You take a look," Zane grinned, already knowing what it is and who it’s from.
Leo collected the package from him, "So you didn’t check it before bringing it in here, what if it’s a bomb?"
Zane laughed, "I did but I just want you to check for yourself. I don’t want to spoil the fun,"
Leo opened the box, it was a well baked chocolate cake. It looked so appealing and its aroma just waft across his nose and office. He picked up a card attached to the box.
’I heard you like chocolate cake, baked it myself...Well I did get some little help because I was running late for work. I hope you enjoy it~OLIVIA’.
He gulped, he didn’t expect this. The cake was already sliced in fractions but was still arranged in whole.
"Wow that’s a nice looking cake," Zane acknowledged hoping to get a taste.
"Throw it away," Leo told coldly.
"What?"
"Isn’t it too early for cake?" Leo added.
"But you can always eat it later, I can tell she really put a lot of effort into it," Zane replied.
That was the thing, why would she? Ever since they got married, he has been nothing but cold towards her. What if she poisoned it to get back at him? No, she can’t possibly do that.
"You have it then," Leo offered and Zane grabbed the box immediately. He took a hungry bite from one of the slice.
"Urgh...This is so good," Zane groaned in bliss and Leo just eyed him.
Leo soon stood up and grabbed the box of cake from him, "Go to your office now, you already have one slice,"
"What? I thought you didn’t want it," Zane whined, he was already anticipating so much of how he was going to finish the rest of the cake.
Leo sat back on his chair after succeeding in shooing Zane away. His eyes glanced at the cake in the box. He picked up a slice and had a small bite.
Man! It did taste heavenly.
Meanwhile, at the bookstore Olivia was attending to a customer.
"Yes, there’s a total of eight works in the series," Olivia told.
"Okay, I’ll get all," replied excitedly, the customer who was a woman.
"Okay," Olivia responded and went ahead to get the books.
"Wow, that was nice to watch," Claire started once the customer was gone.
"You are really good with people," she added.
"You think so?" Olivia asked.
"Yes, I’m sure your hubby will forgive you soon," Claire replied and Olivia smiled.
"Wow, I haven’t seen you smile like that since you started working here. Have you started the list? What did you start with? How is he reacting to it?" Claire questioned.
"I just baked him a cake, I sent it to his office so I didn’t see his reaction and I kinda hugged him in my sleep," Olivia explained.
"Really? Wow," Claire beamed.
Olivia soon got home from work. After taking her bath and freshening up, she went to the kitchen to make dinner with some little assistance from the cook, she really hopes Leo comes home on time.
When they were done, she decided to go get changed. After, she held a small jotter and started walking down the stairs as she reads from it.
It was the list of the twenty things she wants to do to earn Leo’s forgiveness. "What’s next?" she muttered.
"Initiate a kiss..." she read, she shook her head. She might never do that.
"Sedu-"
"Hey Olivia," Leo’s voice jolted her from her immerse focus on the jotter.
"L-Leo, you are back," she almost stammered.
"Yes," he replied and they stared at each other.
"What would you want?" he asked.
"Huh?" she voiced.
"You gave me a cake, I don’t know why. But now I feel like I owe you something," he continued.
Olivia couldn’t believe how little he was thinking of her, she didn’t bake him the cake just to ask for something in return, well for his forgiveness.
She smiled, at least he received it and probably did eat it.
"Okay. Have dinner with me then?" she decided to use it to make him eat with her.
He was astonished.
"It’s ready, so I’ll see you at the dining table," she added and walked passed him before he could say anything else. One more thing out; {5. Eat with him}
They both sat at the dining table in the dining room and started to eat after Olivia dished out some of the meals she made, for them. She purposely asked the staffs in charge to give them some privacy and let her do everything.
"Well how is it?" she smiled at him.
"It’s okay," It was delicious!
"I made everything myself, I heard these are your favorite. Here have more," she dished out more for him.
’She made it?!’ he thought.
"What is wrong?" she asked as he stands up.
"I’m full," he replied.
"What? But you haven’t eaten much," she responded.
"Stop it Olivia. It’s...really not helping, it’s awkward and making me uncomfortable," he blurted and left.
What? Here she was trying to make this work but he prefers the tension between them. What does he wants and expects from her? To hate him too?
Sigh.
When she finally went upstairs to their room, Leo was already asleep- Or so she thought. She changed into her nightgown and joined him on the bed.
She was so exhausted that she dozed off almost immediately. Only then did Leo turn towards her. His eyes swept through her sleeping face.
He watches as she slowly drew closer to him and soon cuddles him, her head snuggling into his chest. He really doesn’t know how to react to it, he was so stiff on her touch.
She was really so fast asleep that he could tell she wasn’t doing this on purpose but in her subconscious mind. Was he a pillow or cuddle teddy bear to her?
His hand reached out to push her away, but as if it had a mind of its own...It snakes round her petite waist. He leaned down towards her head, her scent wraft over his nose. His mind began to drift off to that night.
The way her body flushed red under him, the way her moans filled the room to his every touch, the way her lips tasted on his.
His eyes went to those arousing and alluring lips. He closed his eyes as he shook the memory off because he could feel his little devil hardening up.
His eyes met round beautiful sequin blue ones when it opened. Their lips were just inches away, he was still holding her waist. He removed his arm and uses it to shield his cheeks as he sat up, turning away from her.
"I’m sorry. G-Go back to sleep," he stood up.
"Where are you going to?" she asked.
"Go back to sleep, Olivia. I’ll be back," he replied and disappeared into the bathroom.
Olivia lied back, she bit her lower lips. Another thing out of her list, she can’t believe she did it without putting much effort.
But most of all, she can’t believe a cold man like him was capable of that.
{6. Make him blush}
