Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 128: Not her fault

"What sort of a stupid question is that?" Axel scoffed.

"It’s not stupid and you had better answer, or are you just using the company as a means to collect more money?" Olivia asked.

"No, the company is really bankrupt again. I’m not doing this for myself, it’s for the company," Axel answered.

"But how did the company become bankrupt again?" Olivia asked further.

"Argh since when did you become this inquisitive? I used all the company’s money to gamble and now my life is in danger because I got some extra money from the loan shark. I really thought I would win, but..." Axel trailed off.

"Well," Olivia began as she stands up. "I can’t help you," she told.

Axel stood up as well, "What do you mean you can’t help me?"

"If I get the Yuls to give you more money, you are still going to use it to gamble. You are a gamble freak! An addict to it, it’s going to be an endless cycle. And I’m not going to be part of it," Olivia declared.

"Come here," Axel grabbed her arm.

"Hey! Let go," she told.

"How dare you speak to me in that manner? How insolent of you! You have been so free, it’s been so long since you received a good beating, your head is so high, so high up in the clouds. You think so highly of yourself, you tramp!

"You are already part of this, this is why you are here, why you exist. You aren’t married to Leonard Yul for any other reason, so you aren’t going to dare to back out-"

"Let her go." Leo’s voice was heard. His hand went to Axel’s on Olivia and he yanked it away from her. He pressed Olivia towards him, on his chest.

"How dare you speak to my wife that way?!" Leo began.

’W-What?’ Olivia thought, her mind was in a mess. Her heart was hammering violently against her rib cage, she thought Axel would do something to hurt her which might also hurt her child.

She never expected Leo to intervene.

"You are her elder brother but you have no right to treat her that way, to talk to her that way. What sort of a sibling are you?!" Leo continued, staring intensly at Axel who stared back but tried to remain as calm and polite as possible because of the money he was expecting.

"I’m sorry, my apologies if it offends you but that’s just how I discipline my sister. Olivia already knows that and she is already used to it," Axel responded.

"My wife doesn’t need any discipline and certainly not from you. Have you forgotten she is pregnant?" Leo questioned.

"Well I-"

"Get out!" Leo cuts him off.

"Get out of my house," he added.

Axel couldn’t understand what’s up anymore, wasn’t this the same man who didn’t want to marry his sister? Why was he acting all superman for her? Or, did he miss something?

"I said GET OUT!" Leo repeated.

"Okay." Axel responded with his hands up.

"I will just come again to see you Olivia," he informed.

"No, come back when the loose nuts in your head has been fixed," Leo told and Axel scoffed before walking out.

Leo turned to Olivia, he let her go and made her to face him, his hands on her shoulders.

"Are you okay?" he inquired and she nodded.

"Excuse me," she said and walked off, rushing up the stairs towards their room.

’What was all that, that Axel was spouting?’ Leo thought. Yes, he had heard it all.

After some while, he decided to go check up on Olivia and also, to talk about it with her.

"Olivia," he called as he knocked on the door.

Olivia who was inside crying, quickly began to wipe off her tears.

"Just a sec," she requested.

"Okay, you may come in now," she told and the door opened. Leonard walked in, just one sight at her, he could still tell that she had been crying.

She was sitting on the bed, he walked towards her and joined her on the bed.

"We need to talk Olivia," he requested.

"Huh? About what?" she asked.

"About... about all that Axel had spouted earlier. Is it all true? You used to mention that you also didn’t want to get married to me, you never wanted to have my child, what did you mean? Please Olivia, for once, tell me the truth, be honest with me," he questioned.

She didn’t respond and after some while, she started crying again. She just couldn’t help it.

She nodded.

"I never wanted to get married to you, I never wanted to get pregnant for you and I never willingly decided to sleep with you because I wanted it from the start," she began.

Then she started telling him everything, from the way her father and Axel had always treated her, to how the company became bankrupt and they decided to use her as an asset to revive the company again.

Then she informed him of what Axel came to request for today, although unknowingly to her, he already knows. He had overheard it.

Leonard couldn’t believe everything he was hearing, if she was truly telling him the truth that means he has missed judged her from the start. This whole thing wasn’t her fault, she never wanted this, she was forced into doing it and her own brother even threatened to kill her.

"What lovely brothers we have huh?" Leonard commented.

He knew Axel was capable of such and Olivia’s parents weren’t even helpful with the issue. This was just...simply unacceptable, she shouldn’t have let herself be used but...her own brother did show a threat to her life.

He stood up, not having anything to say and he just walked out of the room. Olivia lifted her legs upwards and she hugged her knees on the bed.

"What now? What will happen now? What will you do now?" Zane asked Leo after he had narrated everything to him.

"I...I will have to apologize to her, I have been treating her so unfairly. Now, I just feel so..." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"Ashamed to face her," Zane completed his statement for him.

Leo didn’t say anything on that, "And...I will make Axel Shipman pay."

That day, Leo apologized to Olivia.

"I’m so sorry, for everything. How I treated you when you were only trying to make things okay with us, when you are not even fully at fault for what had happened. I’m so sorry for how my siblings had harassed you and how I let them. I’m sorry." he apologized.

What could Olivia do? How possibly can she reject an apology that sincere?

"It’s okay," she smiled at him.

"I’ll make sure my siblings apologize too," he assured.

"No, it’s really okay if they don’t. You can’t really blame them," Olivia responded, the infectious smile still on her beautiful face.

He returned the smile, a genuine smile, it has been so long since she saw it.

"You are a good person Olivia and I was too blind to notice," he told and her smile broadened.

"And that’s why you don’t deserve to be treated the way your brother has been treating you. Would you like to teach him a lesson? Knowing you, you must have forgiven him already for his sins, but he needs to pay for his sins," Leo elaborated.

Olivia then fell into a deep thought.

Leo was right, Axel needs to atone for his sins or he will never change.

But how?

Davian was finally discharged from the hospital today. He could manage to stand and walk but not effectively, unlike before the whole accident.

But as said earlier on, with much therapy, he would be able to walk properly soon.

They got to their house and were welcomed by their staffs.

"Welcome sir Davian," Myne took the lead.

"Thank you. Thank you everyone," Davian smiled warmly at them.

"Hmm," Davian sighed loudly when they got to their room upstairs.

It’s almost a month since his mother was buried and they will be doing her one month remembrance soon, that was why he was sighing.

"Is something wrong, Davian?" Silvia asked.

He smiled at her, "No, not at all."

"Are you sure?" she pressed on, something suddenly seems off about him.

He nodded.

"Okay, if you say so. I will go check out something downstairs," she informed him and he nodded once again.

Meanwhile, it was chaotic at the shipman’s mansion. Olivia, Zane and Leo had stormed in with some police to arrest Axel, who was actually at home.

"I won’t go with you guys. What the f*ck is my offense?" Axel demanded.

"We already told you Mr. Shipman, you are under arrest for harassment, assault and domestic violence of Olivia Yul," answered the head of the police team arresting him.

"What? What crap! Do you even have any evidence?" Axel questioned.

"Yes do you?!" Olivia’s father, Mr. Philip Shipman seconded, their mother was also present.

"Yes, CCTV footage of you harassing Mrs Olivia at her matrimonial home," the police officer responded and Axel gritted his teeth in anger and frustration.

"?!"
