Chapter 33: Escape 2

"Yes, to my kingdom and you are not going to stop me." Sage replied sternly.

Arthur’s smile widened. One could be easily rendered wary because of how creepy the smile was but Sage was not moved, she was ready to kill him if he pushed her to.

"I have no choice but to stop you my queen." Arthur spoke cheerfully.

"Nothing but a lapdog of Cyrus Dragos." Sage growled and set the nine tailed fox down on the snow covered ground. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Arthur shook his head. "Not a lapdog but a loyal follower, my queen" He defended politely and drew out his sword from it’s sheathe.

"Loyal follower, pathetic!" Sage scoffed in disbelief and yanked her hands from her coat, launching a hail of raging fire at him.

Arthur avoided her attack and charged, aiming to knock her out with the handle of the sword, but Sage appeared behind him, leaving him speechless as she tore his coat to his shirt and back skin with a fire whip.

He let out a grunt of pain and fell on his knees.

"I hate been underestimated!" Sage yelled angrily, whipping his back once again.

Arthur screamed in pain, feeling extreme burn on his back, and the injury Sage had caused was deep and scorching hot, almost like a hot knife piercing into a cut out meat.

"There she is!" Sage heard a man yell from afar and frowned seeing guards from the castle running towards her like they were coming to fight a battle.

It was obvious that Cyrus had found out she had ran away.

"Snowflake come!" She called the nine tailed fox, who sat casually, his white furry nine tails swaying.

He ran towards Sage, who immediately carried him into her arms and dashed out the gate without looking back.

The more she ran, the more the coat made her feel uneasy, and it was useless because the cold was getting strangely colder, almost abnormally cold.

Soon after entering the forest, she heard roars, indicating that the majority of the guards had transformed into dragons.

She knew that in order to leave Antica faster, she needed to fly, and she only had legs that would not get her very far and would lead her to get caught.

"Why am I not born with wings?" She groaned in frustration.

"The queen is here!" She heard a voice announce and was able to avoid a blow that could have sent her flying or worse, killing her.

"Big mistake." Sage dropped that nine tailed fox and removed her coat.

The fire whips appeared in both of her hands, and she whipped the guard’s arm off harshly. She scowled bitterly before he could scream and whipped off his head.

Her eyes turned a fiery red as the raging fire around the whip intensified. The roars quickly increased, and more guards appeared in the forest, looking as if they were about to kill her.

Sage expertly separated each of their heads from their bodies with her fire whip.

Snowflake was seated, watching the fight as if it were an action play, but his boredom was palpable. His nine tails were spread out and swaying, and his blue slit eyes glowed with silver.

Sage was gasping for air as her quick movements stiffened. The cold was getting worse, and the dragon guards she was fighting were reacting to it as well. She was on the verge of passing out from exhaustion, especially with the mark of lust.

She killed all of the approaching guards before running back to Snowflake, carrying him and her coat, and fleeing.

Her mind was in chaos thinking of too many ideas to escape her dilemma. She did not want Cyrus to catch her, her escape would be in vain.

Suddenly, a huge black dragon lowered above the trees and breathed fire at Sage, who quickly outstretched her arm to protect herself with a fire shield, sending the dragon’s fire to spread at her sides without touching her.

The dragon was stunned when he saw the nine tailed fox on Sage’s arm glaring at him murderously.

Sage coughed, held her breath, and stood firm on her

"Take me to my kingdom right now!" She told the dragon with a commanding tone.

The hesitant dragon focused his gaze on the nine tailed fox whose eyes blazed with silver.

"Are you deaf?!" Sage shouted.

She was in a hurry because she could see dragons in the sky and guards approaching from behind her.

"Oh my goodness! Did he order them to take me back to the castle or did he order them to kill me?" She asked herself groaning in frustration. "Why?!"

The dragon suddenly lowered even more signalling Sage to hop on. She used her strength to jump onto the dragon’s back, which an average human couldn’t do.

Sage lay exhausted on the dragon’s back, holding Snowflake and her coat.

"Credia..." She spoke softly as the dragon lifted his wings and flew away into the sky.

Sage closed her eyes, breathing in the cold air, and what she saw was none other than Cyrus Dragos, smiling brightly and displaying his adorable dimples.

Sage’s eyes flew open in surprise and met a fierce pair of blue slit eyes.

"I.. what was that?!" She asked, surprised, and sat down before putting on the coat and hood. "Why did I see him?" She asked stunned and shivered due to the cold.

She inhaled deeply, wrapping the coat around her and Snowflake.

The wind blew around her, and the clouds brushed by like dust. She should have been amazed to be in the sky, but she was terrified and anxious.

She was terrified of Cyrus and concerned about the state of her kingdom because she did not want to go to a kingdom that had already been destroyed; she wanted to arrive and see everything as it should be.

Her father, her aunt Lia, Darren, the people and her fellow mages safe with smiles on their faces.

"Father.. your daughter is coming."
