Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 250: Shall we?
Snowflake, Ares, Venus, and Stefan materialized in the Videnia garden, surrounded by the eerie silence of the ice statues. Their gazes swept across the frozen figures, taking in the familiar faces of Katherine, Mirabella, and the Treacherous Four who were also present.
Mirabella ran towards Stefan, concern etched on her face, but his attention was fixated on Ashton’s statue, his expression torn between a smile and a sigh.
"Stefan, are you okay?" Mirabella asked, worriedly.
Stefan’s eyes shifted to hers, his nod slow and mechanical. "Yes."
Mirabella couldn’t help but sigh. How could he lie so well when he had dark circles around his eyes and he looked so pale.
"There’s nothing that can be done. This is eternal ice." He said as he approached Ashton’s statue, his eyes fixed on the frozen form.
Mirabella couldn’t believe her ears. "No! No, I can’t lose Isabella like this!"
Katherine shook her head upon hearing Stefan’s voice. "It can’t be." her hand on River’s frozen chest.
Stefan’s gaze shifted to Roselle, who was weeping uncontrollably at Florin’s statue, before his eyes returned to the lifeless body of Freya and the ice gods.
A lot had happened. But he knew that his sister, and Cyrus would find a way to overcome this, to survive against all odds.
Snowflake rushed over to him. "Hmm?" He asked and lifted the nine-tailed fox into his arms.
In an instant, they vanished and reappeared in front of a grand mansion within Videnia. The demon panthers led the way, and Stefan followed, his curiosity caught.
But nothing could have prepared him for the sight that awaited him inside. Before him stood a magnificent statue of Aurora Dragos, its beauty leaving him breathless.
"Wow..." He stared in awe.
Suddenly, he coughed and spat out blood, his eyes glowing with an eerie green light.
And then, he sensed a presence behind him. He turned to see the ice god, Alan, staring at him with great displeasure. "A dragon with a black heart."
The demon panthers positioned themselves on either side of the statue, their eyes fixed on the ice god, their presence a clear warning to protect the statue at all costs.
Stefan looked at the ice god, Alan, who was now glaring at the panthers, his expression twisted in anger. "You pests are back again!" The ice god growled.
His mind raced back to the earlier events, when he and his brother Andrew had attempted to break the statue and claim Aurora’s soul. But their actions had been met with fierce resistance from the demon panthers, who had appeared out of nowhere and killed Andrew.
They then disappeared, bringing with them a dragon with a dark heart.
"Get lost! Or I will destroy you faster than your heart can!" Alan sneered at Stefan.
Stefan sighed and set snowflake to his feet. "Unfortunately for you, I cannot die now. I need to own what I want, but he is currently on ice."
Alan looked at the lord, puzzled. "What?"
Stefan sighed and cracked his fists. "Would you like me to hold him off? I do not possess the ability to kill a god." He said to Snowflake, who was just staring at him.
The lord sighed heavily. "Fine." Then he launched at the ice god, punching him in the head, and the impact sent him through the mansion’s hard wall.
Stefan pursed his lips and walked slowly towards the large hole. He was beginning to lose himself again, but it was best when fighting a god.
...
Cyrus and Sage stood amidst the field of dragon statues, their eyes locked on the frozen forms.
"Are you feeling better?" Sage asked, her voice gentle.
Cyrus nodded, a soft smile spreading across his face. "Yes." He paused, his gaze thoughtful.
"Why didn’t you use Ioas flare all this time?" Sage’s curiosity was evident.
Cyrus’s eyes crinkled at the corners as he replied, "I didn’t know it was a fire core." His hand extended, and Aleara’s snowflake materialized above his palm. "Which means with this, they’re supposed to go hand in hand."
"Just like us?" Sage’s smile mirrored his, and Ioas flare burst to life above her palm.
Their eyes met, and Cyrus’s voice was filled with wonder. "Just like us."
Sage laughed, shaking her head. Cyrus had been carrying a fire core all along, but he had no idea? Did no one know? How is that even possible?
It was difficult to dismiss that information, but she had to.
"Do you truly believe that the ice dragons will return? I will not be the last anymore." Cyrus asked, his eyes gleaming with hope and anticipation.
Sage grinned. "When I arrived here, I could hear their battle cries of determination. Cyrus, I am certain that they are still alive in there."
Cyrus nodded slowly. He looked up at the angry snow clouds to Sage’s mesmerizing emerald eyes, his heart skipping a beat as she smiled. He couldn’t resist returning that smile, his heart swelling with warmth.
Gracefully, he extended his hand towards her, inviting her to join him. Sage’s response was immediate, her arm stretching out to meet his.
"Shall we?" he asked, his voice low and husky.
"We shall," she replied, her eyes sparkling.
As their hands touched, the Ioas flare and Aleara’s snowflake seemed to come to life, drawn to each other like magnets.
They danced and twirled, swirling together in a mesmerizing display of light and color. The mixture of fire and ice rose higher and higher, until it exploded in a brilliant flash of light that illuminated the entire sky.
The blast was so intense that it seemed to shake the very foundations of the world.
In an instant, the dark snow clouds transformed into rain clouds, and a refreshing downpour began, washing away the winter cold and bringing new life to the parched snow earth.
The thunderclap that followed was like a drumbeat, announcing the arrival of a new era of peace, harmony and seasons.
Cyrus held Sage close. They both smiled at each other, staring at each other with warmth and pride.
They leaned their faces to each other. But just as their lips were about to touch, thunderous roars of thousands of ice dragons, rising into the sky, cut them off, their confusion and joy clear.
The couple’s eyes met, and without a word, they vanished, reappearing in front of Aurora’s mansion.
The scene before them was chaotic.
Stefan was locked in combat with an ice god, and the mansion pulsed with a fierce, bright glow.
