Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 245: ATTACK (2)
Enveloping herself with a large ring of fire, Sage didn’t flinch as she incinerated the swarm of Statkus mages charging towards her like a plague. Though her energy was dwindling and her core was fragile, she drew strength from Ioas’ flame and the promise of his help.
With Cyrus counting on her, she steeled herself for victory, refusing to falter.
She carved a path through the army, directing her flames at the mages, her eyes narrowed intently on the ice god standing before the portal.
"Why isn’t he moving?" Her eyes hardened, and she surged forward with renewed speed, her breathing heavy and labored as her flames increased, reducing nearly half of the Statkus mages to ashes.
Just as she was closing in, Lianna appeared suddenly in front of her, striking her head with her staff.
Sage cried out in pain, her steps halted. However, her flames only grew stronger, forcing Lianna to retreat quickly, maintaining a safe distance between them.
"You are finally here. Do you think you can defeat me?" Lianna taunted, her deathly eyes gleaming with confidence.
Sage gritted her teeth, wiping away the blood trickling down her forehead. "You really think I am in the mood for this?"
She glared at Lianna, her fingers stained with her own blood. "I do not have time for your games."
"I know that you have returned the mages true home back to its form. You did good. But do you think you will live to enjoy your efforts? You will die miserably! Just like your mother did!" Lianna screamed piercingly.
"Enough!" Sage snapped having enough of Lianna’s words. To be honest, there was no difference between her former self and her current identity as a Statkus mage. Typical Lianna. Who had no regrets! Who felt proud for every evil she had done!
"Go to hell!" Hissing with annoyance, she summoned twelve fiery whips, their flames crackling with strength.
"Let’s end this. Die Sage! It is your time! Accept it!" Lianna sneered, assuming a battle stance. But before she could even move, Sage’s flames struck, decapitating her and reducing her body to ashes in an instant.
Sage stood, holding her breath, her eyes fixed on the spot where Lianna had just been. Then, releasing her breath, she faced the trio of powerful Statkus mages. Jestia, Inkadon, and Jorad. Their staffs aglow with intense energy.
A faint twinge of pity stirred within her for Lianna, not for her demise, but for the swift and merciful end she had met.
Her eyes narrowed as the mages began to taunt her.
"Your fire core is weak. What did you do?!" Inkadon sneered.
"You are useless!" Jorad snarled, his anger evident.
Sage’s chest heaved with a heavy sigh. "I don’t have time for this,"
"You seem impatient, Sage. Why don’t we escort you to the portal, and you can join our ranks? You will be more powerful than ever. I assure you." Jestia proposed but she wasn’t interested.
"I appreciate the kind gesture. But no." With a mocking scoff, her fire whips flashed and she struck, decapitating Jestia and Inkadon with a lucky blow. Their heads spun off, their bodies disintegrating with a loud screech. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Jorad’s face contorted in rage. "How dare you?! You are ruining everything!"
Sage smirked, her eyes gleaming with defiance. "I think what really infuriates you, Jorad, is that the mages have reclaimed their homes. And too bad for you, you won’t be joining us."
Her taunt pushed Jorad over the edge, and as he charged towards her with his staff, she unleashed her flames with full fury, engulfing him in a blaze of fire.
His screams were short-lived, his body disintegrating into nothingness.
"Now," Sage fixed her gaze on the ice god, now mere steps away. "Let’s see if you can evade me!"
She hurled herself forward, her flames propelling her with incredible speed. In an instant, she stood before the ice god, her eyes blazing fiercely.
The ice god’s smile grew wider as he cocked his head, his voice dripping with amusement. "Queen Sage Dragos, what do you intend to do?"
"You look like you have been expecting me, so I am confident that you are aware of what I intend to do." Sage responded with complete displeasure on her face.
"In a few minutes, your husband will be here to kill you. I am here to ensure that happens." He spoke with excitement in his eyes.
Sage swallowed tightly. "I am here to destroy this portal before that time arrives, which means I must kill a god."
The ice god smirked. "Alistair was right. You are an ideal bride for Cyrus. It is too bad that everything will end poorly for you."
Sage frowned, her gaze shifting to the enormous portal. There were strange whispers coming from it, and the negative energy made her nervous.
"It will be impossible to destroy the portal with your weak core." The ice god growled and blasted a bright ice blue glow at her, which she quickly dodged with a gasp.
"Yes! I will destroy that portal, including you, if you stand in my way!" She yelled at him, her flame bursting violently from her body.
Her eyes turned a fiery red, dancing like powerful flames similar to those around her body.
The ice god took a step towards her, his face darkening, but just as he was about to take another step, Anghel appeared behind him and grabbed his arm. "Hello there, Aiden."
Aiden’s eyes widened with rage. "Brother?!"
Anghel grabbed and blasted him. A blast that launched him far away from the portal.
"What are you doing here?!" Sage had to ask. She was taken aback by his sudden appearance. Still, she was grateful. "Thank you.."
Anghel smiled. "Go ahead, destroy the portal already." And he fled to his brother, determined to keep him from approaching the portal.
"Easier said than done." She stared at the portal and took a deep breath before walking through it, emerging in a space of darkness and terrified screams.
