Chapter 192: Stubborn parrot

"You are high and mighty to everyone else, but to me, you are still that frail child I met. The same child who saved my life." Ashton spoke slowly and smiled at the end.

Cyrus, who was still rubbing his cheek, let out a deep sigh. "I will be fine. I promise." He told the demon, who scoffed.

"Rhaziel mind linked me again."

"Tell that brute to go to hell!" Cyrus snapped.

"Literally?"

"Yes." Cyrus growled and chewed his lower lip. "We have a lot to do." He added with a deep sigh.

"And are you going to include your arrogant parrot in them?" Ashton inquired, teasingly.

"She was declared queen by the mages, and they wish to rebuild their kingdom." Cyrus provided information in a straightforward manner.

Ashton’s eyes widened. "Isn’t she already queen? Fuck! Rebuilding a kingdom can take centuries."

"At the very least, it will keep her occupied for a while." Cyrus muttered.

"Your birthday is approaching even faster, Cyrus," Ashton said quietly, closing his eyes.

"Please don’t remind me." Cyrus hissed and turned to see Reagan walking into the room with a disturbed expression.

"Another attack in Videnia." Cyrus’ eyes widened in rage as he immediately reported. "Not there!" He yelled.

"Calm down! Remember that the barrier there is impenetrable and only you can enter?" Ashton reminded.

Cyrus relaxed and narrowed his eyes at Reagan, who was telling him to calm down without saying anything.

"Send out the warriors to protect." With a deep sigh, he ordered Reagan.

Reagan gave a nod. "Yes, your Majesty." Then he turned and walked out of the room.

"When will you tell him?" Ashton asked Cyrus as they fixed their gaze on Reagan’s direction.

"He will figure it out for himself. After all, She wasn’t my bride." Cyrus stated unbotheredly.

"You are the arrogant one." Ashton scoffed, crossing his arms across his chest.

"Hmm." Cyrus let out a growl.

...

Sage sat in the dining room, eating her breakfast slowly. It almost appeared to be a feast for dozens of people, but she had already finished half of the different delicious meals.

As she ate, her mind wandered to Cyrus. She didn’t understand why all three of his souls were just one soul to her. She almost felt dumb, but something inside her told her she shouldn’t be feeling that way and that she was correct.

Kion, Valerie, the treacherous four... All of those people were happy and strong people, but what happened had broken their spirits.

They declared her queen of the mages just like that? And even though she had earned the title, she was still self-conscious.

"I know I can do it." She muttered and inserted a spoonful of food into her mouth.

Cyrus had gone with Ashton, leaving her alone to eat breakfast. She was relieved that they had bathed together, but she was beginning to feel lonely.

She was startled to hear a deep growl from a familiar cute creature. Snowflake entered the dining room and dashed to her chair. Sage smiled, pushed her chair back, and carried the nine-tailed fox in her arms, placing him on her laps.

"How do you feel, Snow?" She asked, staring lovingly at the fox, who had curled himself up into a ball and closed his eyes.

"Hello, your Majesty," Arthur said cheerfully as he entered the dining room.

Sage smiled and corrected, "Sage."

"Hello, Sage." Arthur chuckled.

"Where is Freya?" Sage inquired, intrigued.

"She was sent on a mission, my queen." Arthur responded, and she nodded.

"Did you see the mages?" Sage asked slowly.

Arthur’s smile vanished, and he appeared to be recalling something somewhat dramatic. "They are safe, but something happened last night..."

"Did you come here to gossip?" Cyrus, who appeared out of nowhere behind Sage’s chair, cut off Arthur’s words, and Arthur immediately bowed his head.

"I apologize, your Majesty,"

"I asked him a question, Cyrus," Sage groaned, not startled by his presence.

"Go." Sage frowned as Cyrus told Arthur in a commanding tone.

"Stay." She told Arthur in a commanding tone, and he immediately came to a halt.

"You will live if you go."

"Please stay and tell me what happened last night because it appears that my dear husband has not yet told me."

Cyrus grabbed Sage’s chair, making her gasp, and then turned it to face him. "Are you being stubborn?" Cyrus asked with a deep hiss, his hands on the armrests, her encased between his arms.

Sage frowned as she chewed her lower lip. "What are you concealing?" She seethed.

"Nothing, but it is significant." Cyrus responded directly.

"Seriously?!" Sage yelled angrily, turning her gaze to Arthur, who was still standing there with his head bowed.

"Ignore him and tell me!"

"No need to rush, Arrogant parrot." Cyrus mumbled and cast a menacing look at Arthur, who couldn’t believe his current situation. He was now involved with the bickering couple.

"There is every reason to be in a hurry! You are concealing things!" Sage screamed. Cyrus was not going to change, and she couldn’t even read his mind, which meant that whatever happened was not about her, but about someone else.

"Miss Katherine unexpectedly appeared on the mountain with Prince River, intending to enter the portal!" Arthur revealed.

"What?!" Sage exclaimed in surprise, and Cyrus moved away from her with a long groan, then vanished from sight to resist the urge to kill Arthur.

"It turned out that she was being controlled because she became mindless and even hurt her fellow mage in her desire to enter the portal." More information was revealed by Arthur.

"Was she stopped?" Sage inquired eagerly.

"Fortunately, Ashton intervened." Sage sighed and placed her hand on her chest as Arthur responded.

"Wait!!" Her eyes widened as she yelled. "Does this imply that she is here in the mansion?" She asked.

"Yes, she is." Sage immediately stood up with Snowflake in her arms after Arthur replied.

She dashed out of the dining room hurriedly. She needed to find Katherine! there was a lot she wanted to know. Cyrus suddenly materialized in front of her, wearing a cold emotionless expression, blue slit eyes glistening darkly causing her to gasp in shock then frown.

"Where is my stubborn parrot heading to?"
