Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 177: Katherine’s control 1
River gently placed Katherine on the couch closest to the fireplace in the mansion’s large sitting room. He had his gaze fixed on her, as if she would vanish if he looked away.
"You stay still." River heard Cyrus say before he showered them both with a brilliant sapphire glow.

Cyrus, River, Ashton, and Reagan were staring at the burnt trees that surrounded them in a remote area outside the city of Leimpia. It appeared that a fight had occurred there a few hours before they arrived.
River narrowed his eyes at Cyrus, who had been silent, not hiding his dislike for him in his dark state.
"I can not believe we missed it." Reagan complained.
"Oh, stop talking." Ashton snarled at the shadow dragon, whose eyes instantly transformed into pure black reptile form, and glared murderously at the demon, who grinned deviously.
"Enough!" Cyrus suddenly thundered, and all eyes were drawn to him because his tone was strangely tinged with frustration and pain.
River’s eyes widened as Cyrus began to glow brightly, but what shocked him the most was the way Cyrus screamed with such intensity.
"Cyrus!" He panicked and wanted to rush to him, but Ashton appeared in front of him, pushing him back with his chest.
"Don’t." The demon said to him and tilted his head to the side, allowing River to see Cyrus, who was now gasping for air as the glow on him faded.
"His normal state!" River exclaimed in surprise, and he couldn’t believe he had missed the sight of that white hair.
Ashton’s brow furrowed in surprise, and Reagan appeared stunned.
"What?!" In disbelief, Ashton asked, turning to look at Cyrus, who placed his hand on his chest and looked around at his companions, his eyes pure black in their demon form.
Recognizing his demonic state, Ashton dug his fingers into his hair and exclaimed, "Fuck no!"
"What exactly is going on?" River’s eyes are wide with confusion.
"Could it be that his soul has simply been shattered?" Reagan asked slowly, his mind attempting to comprehend what was going on.
"Hmm." Ashton clenched his teeth. "Snow is most likely ill. He has been moody recently, ever since Cyrus destroyed his normal state." He went on to say.
Cyrus’ eyes abruptly returned to their ice blue form and vanished from the sight without waiting for any of them to react.
"What a moron!" Ashton yelled, his wings burst open, and he flew away.
River sighed deeply and turned to face Reagan, who was now faintly smiling.
"Can you explain what you mean by shattered soul?" River inquired, perplexed.
"Cyrus did not go to hell... his normal state soul is similar to queen Aurora’s soul now, except he won’t be able to switch back to his normal state once Snow recovers." River’s face darkened as Reagan explained.
"If you want, you can keep looking." Reagan chuckled as River spoke with a low growl.
"You are not usually as grumpy as you have been since you arrived here." He stated.
"Thank you for noticing." River grumbled, transformed into a dragon, and flew back to the city. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
He began to feel strange while flying above the city. An extremely familiar energy was coming from beneath.. a familiar energy that always made him feel at ease.
River reverted to his human form in the air and landed on a high tower roof, his golden eyes scanning the ground below. The houses, the people walking from one location to another, socializing, buying and selling... His gaze was drawn to a location where carriages were gathered. Carriages that had traveled to Leimpia from other towns, cities, and villages in Antica.
The carriage that piqued his interest the most made his heart skip a beat. It was a royal carriage from the castle, and it gave him that familiar feeling. Mages were very good at making their partners’ magical senses strong once they had claimed each other.
River smirked as soon as he saw a royal guard open the carriage door and assist Katherine out.
"She is here to see me."
River was relieved because he had correctly predicted it. Their most recent conversation proved it.
He just wanted to run up to her and take her in his arms, but he was stopped when he noticed her crystal blue eyes glimmering darkly. She abruptly shifted her gaze to the mountains. The sight was blurry, but the way she looked at it gave him the impression that something was wrong. It was as if she was being controlled at the time.
River leapt from the tower, landing on his feet in front of a stall, and the women in the area screamed at the strange man who had just landed from above.
River dashed up to Katherine and stood directly in front of her, blocking her view of the mountain.
He noticed her eyes glimmer brightly and she blinked as if she had snapped out of being controlled, and her eyes almost popped out of her sockets as she saw River standing in front of her, almost as if it was a dream.
"Aside from coming to meet me, what brings you here?" River inquired immediately, his face solemn.
Katherine, who hadn’t expected him to ask that question, sighed deeply, as if she had been caught stealing. "Leimpia sounds eerily similar to me. I believe I was here before I lost my memories." He nodded slowly as she spoke slowly.
"We have been here before." Katherine took a step towards him as he unexpectedly said.
"Did I, in some way, put the mages somewhere here?" River narrowed his eyes at her as she inquired.
"Are you all right?" He inquired, noticing her sudden pallor.
"I have been feeling a little sick since I got here." Katherine responded with a small chuckle.
River didn’t believe it was a common illness. The statkus mages were present in Leimpia, and the presence of the portal to the sea of blood on the mountain she was staring at earlier indicated that they were attempting to control her once more.
"First, let me treat you before we go to the mountain." He said this with a small smile before taking her hands in his and pulling her away from the carriages.
