Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 175: Soulbond
Thousands of years ago, there were two opposites who were attracted to each other, just like Cyrus and Sage. Their love was so insane that one of them nearly gave the other the sun to declare his undying love.
Ioas, the most powerful fire mage ever known, was known as an unstoppable force of raging fire, and Aleara, the most powerful ice dragon ever known, was cold as ice with only one goal in mind: to make her empire powerful.
Before they vanished, they left behind the main source of their powers, which were inextricably linked. Every generation of ice dragons chose a specific ice dragon from the royal family to be the keeper of the Ioas flare and the Aleara snowflake, but even when the fire mages existed, the Ioas flare never accepted them whenever they tried to take it, and the same went for every ice dragon that wanted to possess the Aleara snowflake, but the Ioas flare accepted Sage the moment she opened the scroll and the Aleara snowflake was revealed.
The glow from the Aleara snowflake’s back in the mansion where Aurora ice statue was located, vanished along with the snowflake and generated directly on Sage combining with Cyrus’ strength. As soon as it connected with the Ioas flare in Sage, the Aleara snowflake went into Cyrus and dwelled in him permanently just like the Ioas flare in Sage. This happened right when he was trying to break the restriction of the control the statkus mages had over Sage.
Both forces automatically sparked the desire for mating in Sage and Cyrus after recognizing their intense feelings for one another.
Ioas and Aleara had such a strong bond that they could feel each other’s pain; if one died, the other died; if one was in danger, the other could feel it. It was absolutely magnificent.
"Soulbond." Cyrus sighed and looked down at Sage, who lay motionless in his arms. Her calm, beautiful face warmed his heart, and her steady breathing made him relieved that she was fine and alive.
Cyrus scoffed in disbelief as he realized what had happened and wondered why Lucian was so upset.
He rolled his eyes at the dead man who was frowning. "What is the big deal about it?" He queried.
"Three souls who disagree with each other will endanger you both. It will be the end of the ice dragons because you seem to have forgotten that you are the last ice dragon, and if the Ioas flare dies with Sage, if another fire mage emerges, he or she will be extremely weak." Lucian issued in a warning tone.
"We can take care of ourselves, Lucian," Cyrus said, his voice full of disdain and hatred mentioning the mage’s former king’s name.
"She should not meet her mother." With a sigh, Lucian said. His face was beginning to show signs of guilt. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"You exiled her mother without hesitation, remember?" With a deep growl, Cyrus inquired.
"It is my greatest regret." Lucian exhaled a heavy sigh of regret.
"It ought to be." Cyrus grumbled, and he and Sage were instantly enveloped in a bright sapphire glow, but before Cyrus vanished, he noticed something in the dead mage’s dead hollow eyes. Something akin to a message.
Cyrus felt an excruciating pain in his heart and squeezed his face in agony, his eyes closed.
"Sage!" A familiar voice called, eliciting nothing but rage in Cyrus.
In his dark state, he reappeared on top of the mountain behind the portal that led to the land of the sea of blood, and when he opened his eyes, he saw River holding an unconscious Katherine in his arms, Ashton smirking deviously, Arthur had pinned struggling Darren to the ground who kept calling out to Sage, and the remaining present were the mages that he had teleported out of the land of the sea of blood.
"Snow." Cyrus called calmly, and the nine-tailed fox appeared in front of him, murderously glaring at him.
Cyrus smirked and moved his gaze to the portal. When he closed his eyes, a brilliant sapphire glow appeared in front of him and continued to do so until it began to spark as though it were rotating with lightning. Instantaneously, his eyes shot open, glowing brilliantly. The force blasted the portal, which exploded blasting back a powerful force strong enough to blast everyone on the mountain off the mountain.
His eyes further closed as Cyrus’ wings burst out and took on a bright glow. The force that was about to blast them from the mountain was blocked by a glow that reappeared in front of him and stretched out like a glass wall, but they could still feel it. Strong magic of death colliding with even stronger magic emanating from a dragon.
The sight left all of the mages, including Darren, speechless, while River, Ashton, and Arthur simply appeared impressed, and Snowflake appeared to be very bored.
As soon as Cyrus’ blue slit eyes fluttered open, the glowing wall and the glow on his potent wings vanished, along with the portal and the magic that had been evoking death.
His lips quirked, and he turned to look at Sage, wondering what Sage would have done if she had been witness to the power of his magic.
"What exactly happened in there?" Cyrus turned to face the crowd after Ashton asked the first question.
Ashton appeared in front of Cyrus, suspiciously looking at Sage and then at Cyrus’ face. "Does your demonic state manifest?" He inquired, hoping Cyrus would decline.
"Yes. He manifests just like my normal state and switches when he wants." Cyrus responded casually.
"That is because you are trapped in your dark state, moron. Being in your dark state makes it easier for him to emerge, but you have never thought about that, have you?!" Cyrus remained unfazed despite Ashton’s snarl.
"I did." Cyrus hissed, his demon eyes flashed, and Ashton rolled his eyes.
"Your aura is odd, and it feels similar to hers." He abruptly said, his eyes darting from Cyrus to Sage in a suspicious manner, and when he realized what was going on, he froze and his eyes widened.
"Please tell me it is not what I think it is, Cyrus Dragos."
"It is exactly what you think it is, Ashton Petrov."
Ashton swallowed hard, trying to make sense of what was going on, and then exclaimed in a whisper that only the dragons and halfling present could hear clearly.
"Soulbond!"
