Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 157: I do not know understand why
Sage quickly fell into a deep slumber as she felt at ease in the blanket and next to Cyrus.
Cyrus was drawn to her innocent sleeping expression, as well as her steady breathing and heartbeat. His gaze was drawn to her bare forehead, which was obscured by strands of her hair.
Noticing a small blood stain on her hair, he pushed her hair away from her forehead to reveal a small fresh injury caused by a fall of the head.
Cyrus placed his thumb on the injury, intending to press it hard, but instead sighed deeply and allowed the injury to heal before gently caressing her forehead, revealing her lava-like veins.
He went to Leimpia immediately after leaving her in the room that day, telling her to find him.
It took her a week, but he couldn’t help but be impressed that she had made the effort to meet him here. She revealed to him that she was truly in love with him, and seeing her in a deep slumber revealed that she hadn’t been sleeping well since he left the castle.
He took his fingers off her brow and sat down, digging his fingers into his hair.
"Am I worried, or do I just want her fire core?" He asked with a stern voice and a straight face, then returned his gaze to Sage, who was now smiling in her sleep.
"She must be having a pleasant dream." He got out of bed and said.
He approached the shelf, removed a book, smirked, and threw it at Sage, who was immediately surrounded by fire, and a powerful force blasted the book back to him before it could make contact with her.
He caught the book and chewed his lower lip as he watched the fire around her vanish.
"This is a good thing. If this continues, she will be even more powerful than Ioas was." He said this before putting the book back on the shelf.
He put on his coat and walked over to the bed, placing his hand on her brow. His blue slit eyes glowed darkly, and her lava like veins became visible once more.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Cyrus sighed in displeasure. Sage’s eyes flew open, widening, as she saw Cyrus close to her and his hands on her forehead.
"What are you doing?" Her brow furrowed.
"Touching you." He said it curtly.
She grabbed his wrist with both hands and pushed his hand away, frowning as she said, "Do not touch me while I sleep."
Cyrus’ lips twitched as he remembered saying that to her, and his words seemed to have hurt and provoked her.
She was adorable.
Cyrus growled as he heard the door slamming again. "When did you start acting like a gentleman?"
River entered with a deep frown as the door opened.
Cyrus took a step forward and looked him in the eyes. "What brings you here?" He inquired.
"You slaughtered five thousand warriors! Are you crazy?!" River screamed at him.
Sage’s eyes almost bulged from their sockets. "Five thousand warriors?" She exclaimed in hushed tones.
That was a large number.
"I do not understand why their lives are important when they were allies with Samuel, who was a spy for your uncle Esteban." Cyrus was unconcerned.
River took a deep breath. "Of course, they were all against you..."
"But you are enraged because I am doing all of this in my dark state, which you despise." Cyrus finished his sentence with a soft chuckle.
"Here," River said, pulling a letter from his coat pocket and handing it to Cyrus. "Esteban sent it to me, but I know you need it more than I do." He added as he looked at Sage, who gave him a faint smile.
"When you are angry, you tend to look more like Ophelia." Cyrus stated as he examined the letter.
"She is, after all, my twin," River muttered as he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Cyrus hummed and turned to face Sage, who was now standing in front of him with her hands crossed across her chest. She pouted her lips and deep lines were visible on her brow.
"What?" Cyrus enquired.
"Five thousand?" She asked and grabbed his wrist, looking down at his palm before dropping it. "I do not understand why you are friends with someone who is related to someone who wants to kill you." She scuffed her words and turned away.
"I do not understand why you are married to someone who wants to kill you." Cyrus stated bluntly.
Sage returned to him, a sly smile on her lips, and said, "I do not understand why you are in love with the one you want to kill."
"I do not understand why you are in love with someone who wants to kill you." Cyrus hissed and chewed the inside of his lower lip.
"I do not understand why you are worried about the person you want to kill!" Sage yelled at him.
"I do not understand why we are doing this." Cyrus laughed.
"You can not deny that you do not care about me; you want me to grow stronger."
"Only because the more powerful you become, the more useful your life force will be."
"Heed to my words Cyrus Dragos, You will not kill me," She gave a firm growl.
"Says who?" Cyrus inquired casually.
"Says me, and you will have to deal with it whether you like it or not." She said sternly and he grabbed her arm, pulled her close to him, and wrapped his arms around her as she turned away.
"You are insane. No one dares to speak to me like you do, not in my current state." He hissed and pressed his face against hers.
Sage gave him a blank stare and rested her hands on his shoulders. "I doubt you recall what I said, Cyrus Dragos." Her lips twitched as she whispered.
Cyrus hummed and said, "Do not touch me while I sleep."
Sage’s eyes widened slightly.
"But you aren’t asleep now are you?" Cyrus asked and smirked deviously.
