Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 139: Nightmare
Her heart skipped a beat as the dagger sank deep into his chest and seeing his eyes go dark, her mind went into chaos, her whole world shattered, and she let out a loud scream of shock.
Cyrus let go of her hand and removed the dagger from his chest, trembling as she watched blood soak through his shirt and coat.
Cyrus’ lips grew paler than usual as she panickedly cupped his face.
"Please, please, please! DO NOT DO THIS TO ME, CYRUS!" Sage screamed, and uncontrollable tears streamed from her eyes.
Cyrus closed his eyes and collapsed to the ground, his clothes soaked in blood.
Sage screamed and knelt, rubbing his cheeks. "Get up! Cyrus, please get up!"
Sage had no idea what was going on. How could he confess and force her to stab him through the heart?! She was struggling to breathe as she attempted to rouse Cyrus.
Was he really leaving her?
She wished she could wake up from her nightmare and be in his arms.
"Please let this be a nightmare," she muttered, burying her face in his chest, blood immediately staining her face.
"I love you, Cyrus, so do not leave me!" She screamed, clutching his blood-soaked chest. "Why are you torturing me like this?!" She yelled.
All she wanted was for him to open his eyes!
Her heart clenched, and she slowly raised her head, her teary eyes fixed on his.
She didn’t want to believe it when she saw him lying there, knowing he was dead and not asleep. She stared at him, waiting for him to open his eyes, and she wanted to do it even if it meant she would be there for a long time.
"Sage!" Katherine called out and arrived on the scene, shocked to see the ice dragon dead, soaked in his own blood.
When Katherine realized Sage was waiting for him to wake up, she clenched her fist and grabbed Sage’s arm. "Stop it! He is no longer alive." She yelled, yanking Sage away from Cyrus.
"No! Let me go!" Sage yelled at Katherine, who yanked her up onto her feet.
Stefan also arrived at the scene, stunned.
Cyrus was dead and Sage appeared depressed.
She succeeded in pushing Katherine away and ran back to Cyrus, knelt on the ground, and shook him vigorously. "Cyrus! Please wake up!" Sage cried out to her deceased husband.
Stefan felt weak seeing Sage in that situation. She was clearly in pain and in denial about what had happened.
He rushed to her, wrapped his arms around her body, and pulled her away from Cyrus while she screamed and struggled against him.
"Let me go!" Sage screamed as she struggled, her gaze fixed on Cyrus, who remained motionless.
She was moving away from him! Was he going to vanish from her sight forever?!
Sage panicked, and her entire body, from head to toe, was engulfed in flames. "Please let me go!" She screamed angrily.
Stefan’s eyes welled up with tears as he felt her burn through his skin, but he didn’t let go. He turned away so she wouldn’t see Cyrus knowing how much she hurt.
Sage felt her heart hurt as Cyrus flashed through her mind, his cute dimpled smile, and she immediately felt weak and helpless, which caused the fire covering her body to vanish.
"Let go of me!" Sage struggled, but her dear brother was too powerful at the time. "Stefan, please! He promised me he would not make me cry! He told me that he will do anything to avoid making me cry!" Sage cried her heart out, refusing to give up her fight against him.
"Watch out, Stefan!" Ashton yelled behind Stefan, but he couldn’t avoid the attack and was stabbed in the back by a statkus mage. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
While Arthur appeared and cut off the mages head with his sword, he closed his eyes in pain and gripped the struggling and crying Sage tightly.
"Are you okay?" Arthur asked Stefan and was surprised to see Sage crying and struggling from Stefan’s tight grip on her.
"W..what?" Arthur gasped in confusion as he followed Sage’s gaze to find Cyrus dead and drenched in his own blood. "NO! His majesty!" In shock, he yelled.
He wanted to run to Cyrus but was quickly surrounded by statkus mages.
Meanwhile, Stefan was feeling weak from the effects of Sumera, the statkus mages’ poison, and the effects were beginning earlier than expected.
He let go of Sage, who ran back to Cyrus without looking back at her brother.
Smiling weakly, he fell to the ground, unconscious.
Katherine was preventing statkus mages from approaching her and Cyrus.
Sage got down on her knees, grabbed Cyrus’ shoulders, and shook him hard before crashing her lips against his.
Something seemed off to Ashton, who was fighting the flying statkus mages in the sky. There was no sign of Cyrus in sight, and he became uneasy as a thought entered his mind.
Flying beneath the ground, he eventually found Cyrus dead, soaked in his own blood and being kissed by his wife, whose face was stained with blood and wet with tears.
He landed alongside Katherine to fight the mages, then yanked Sage away from Cyrus, clutching her tightly. "Are you insane?! You are harresing a dead dragon!" He then let her go, his wings vanished, and he went one knee, his fingers on Cyrus’ brow.
Sage stood in the middle of the battleground, as if her soul had left her body. Her mind was blank as she tried not to believe Cyrus was dead.
The wind blew around her, pushing her clothes and tears down her cheeks.
"You told me not to leave you, but you want to leave me." In pain, she mumbled and smiled. "Absurd."
"Well, well, well," A raspy voice chanted behind her, and she felt a hand land on her shoulders, then up to her neck, revealing her glowing lava veins.
"Pain makes one extremely weak, but your fire core is mine." The raspy voice spoke with ease and made Sage turn to face her.
It was Jestia, the third statkus mage elder mage.
She was even more hideous than Inkadon and was relieved that Sage wasn’t fighting back.
"Perfect timing." She cackled and clutched Sage’s neck tightly.
