Chapter 109: Helpless Aurora

In the main hall, Cyrus, Ashton and General Samuel were seated wearing serious expressions.

Ashton seemed to be thinking deep with his fingers playing on the table. Suddenly, his eyes went bright and he exclaimed, "Ah Ha!"

Cyrus and General Samuel turned their attention to him to him. "What is the matter?" General Samuel asked curiously.

"You know, we can just lure Prince River to Anitca, throw him in the dungeon, and use him as bait to lure in the Firerian dragons." Ashton advised excitedly, slammed the table, and stood up. "Let’s do it!"

Cyrus gave him a murderous look. "Absurd." He growled angrily.

General Samuel chuckled and shook his head. "You are saying that because you dislike him."

Ashton Tsked. "I despise beings, not dislike them." He then sulked and sat down.

"Then kill him when you see him. You have already sent Arthur to find the water mage, which means River will arrive soon." Cyrus stated dully.

Ashton scoffed. "I want his sexy sister to come to Antica." He smirked and clicked his tongue.

Cyrus sighed and rolled his eyes. "You are free to invite as many females as you want or go to a brothel; I did not chain you to a wall or anything." Cyrus scoffed and rose to his feet.

"Please direct Mirabella to my room." Ashton sighed lazily.

"Direct her yourself." Cyrus growled and narrowed his eyes as he saw Snowflake enter the main hall, looking bored.

When Ashton and General Samuel turned their attention to the nine-tailed fox, Ashton burst out laughing.

"It is not a good idea to send Venus and Ares to guard." He stated.

"Have they never been there before?" Cyrus inquired, stepped away from the chair, and approached the nine-tailed fox, scooping him into his arms.

"Not during the time of those repulsive creatures?" Ashton laughed.

"I believe we should concentrate our efforts on luring them away from Antica." General Samuel proposed. "Our fire breath would do perfectly good since they are like living corpses,"

"You are so serious with this plus, there are two elders remaining, Inkadon and Jestia. They are probably in the portal planning their attacks on how to get Cyrus’ parrot." Ashton said groaning. "This is tough as they want the fire core which you are obsessed with." He added teasing Cyrus who was now having a staring contest with his nine tailed fox.

"Alright," Cyrus whispered and dropped the nine tailed fox on the ground. "Samuel, go check on the warriors and be sure to recruit as many and Snow, bite Ashton," Cyrus said dully and walked out of the main hall.

"Wait, what?!" Ashton exclaimed with shock and looked at the nine tailed who almost looked like he was smirking evilly.

The nine tailed fox leaped at him and Cyrus who was now at the hallway smirked as he head Ashton’s scream.

"Cyrus!"

He was climbing the stairs leading to the abandoned east wing with his hands in his pockets. As he walked into the gloomy, depressing hall, he immediately closed his eyes.

As he continued walking, memory-like whispers began to echo around him. His hands were clenched in his pockets, and the tips of his flowing white long hair were turning black.

Cyrus took a deep breath and opened his eyes, pausing his steps.

"Why is this happening?" He growled as his eyes flashed silver and then black, like those of a demon.

Cyrus growled and continued walking until he came to another set of stairs leading up to the castle’s east tower. As he began walking up the stairs, the stairs were completely covered in ice, and strong blocks of ice could be seen on the sides of the walls. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, biting his lower lip, as it appeared there had been a fight at the path of the stairs before.

He soon arrived in front of an ice-covered door and pushed it open into a completely empty room with only one window and sun rays coming from it as the only light source.

Cyrus shut the door behind him and took a deep breath, relaxing his back against the frozen door.

"Mother!" He called through his teeth, his eyes blazed with blue slits before switching to their silver reptile form.

"Cyrus, fighting it will injure your soul; if you continue to fight it, your normal state will be destroyed." Aurora’s voice echoed around the room.

Cyrus sighed and knelt. "I.." His voice shook, and he lowered his head. "I did not go back to the room last night, I felt so alone out in the forest; I can not believe it because it seems like I can not live without her anymore." He growled through his teeth.

"Just one night and you already feel like this?" Aurora asked, shocked.

"I do not want to kill her; I want to protect her." Cyrus muttered something.

"I do not know what to do and say, son," Aurora sighed deeply. "I really want to hug you, my son," she sobbed.

"I do not want your pity." Cyrus groaned coldly and fell flat on the ground. "Mother!" Cyrus summoned exhaustion.

"Cyrus!" Aurora called, clearly in pain. "If you fight it, your normal state will be destroyed! Please." She begged.

Cyrus exhaled deeply and closed his eyes. "You must be weak, return. I just wanted to hear your voice." He muttered.

"Alrig..ht," Aurora’s voice shook.

A transparent figure of a woman who looked exactly like Aurora’s ice sculpture was seeing the sun rays that reflected from the window and into the room looked at Cyrus with pain and exhaustion. She closed her eyes and extended her arms towards Cyrus before disappearing into thin air.

Cyrus’ hair was gradually turning black in the meantime. He let out a deep growl, as if fighting, and his hair instantly glowed, returning to its shining white form.

Cyrus sighed and opened his eyes, which were ice blue.

His lips trembled and he smiled, revealing his dimples. "Interesting," he muttered.
