Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Cousin-Chapter 566 Jealous Jar, Don’t Be Angry Anymore (2)_1
The only possible explanation was that the second sister-in-law had indeed been drugged that day, and then she blamed Ji Yunhuan for everything.
After Lin Xiang saw Ji Yunhuan, the second sister-in-law became somewhat indifferent, as if Ji Yunhuan’s words reminded her of the past and made her waver.
If the second sister-in-law really softened her heart towards Ji Yunhuan, and they questioned each other later, wouldn’t Ji Yunhuan clear her name?
Lin Xiang hurriedly said, "Second sister-in-law, you weren’t really moved by Ji Yunhuan’s words, were you? You know, when she first came to the Qi Family, she was good to you because she had no support. Now she has Qi Cheng and a child. She doesn’t need you anymore. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have disregarded your wish to have a child."
"I have things to do, I’m going to work." Feeling confused by Lin Xiang’s words, the second sister-in-law was also extremely annoyed.
Coincidentally, Luo Shan was still living at home, and she had no time to deal with Ji Yunhuan and Qi Cheng. Compared to dealing with those two, her situation was more important.
When Ji Yunhuan passed by the study, she found Qi Cheng inside. He had already returned from his trip and still maintained a cold attitude towards her.
Indignantly, Ji Yunhuan recalled the second sister-in-law’s words and knew it was her meddling.
Qi Cheng had always been very concerned about her. After someone said something, he couldn’t help but suspect there was an unclear relationship between her and Bai Liyan.
Especially since she and Bai Liyan had a complicated past.
Even if she explained, Qi Cheng might still harbor doubts in his heart!
Since he didn’t trust her, Ji Yunhuan didn’t want to rush to explain.
She went downstairs to see Yangyang. These past few days, Bai Liyan had been around, and Yangyang was a bit more obedient in his presence than in Ji Yunhuan’s.
Seeing Ji Yunhuan, Bai Liyan asked, "How’s your hand?"
"Just a minor injury." Ji Yunhuan thought she should keep some distance from Bai Liyan.
Though innocence speaks for itself, her man was a jealous one!
Bai Liyan strongly disapproved of her nonchalant attitude. "Even minor injuries can cause trouble if not treated properly."
"It’s really nothing." Ji Yunhuan avoided him and sat down on the sofa.
Soon, Assistant Gao arrived. "Ma’am."
Ji Yunhuan looked at him.
Assistant Gao said, "I investigated. That night, Ms. Lin was with the second madam."
"Lin Xiang?" Ji Yunhuan asked, "Anyone else?"
Assistant Gao shook his head. "No one else."
"Just the two of them?"
"Yes."
"Keep a close eye on Lin Xiang." If it was only the two of them, Lin Xiang was the prime suspect. However, Lin Xiang had a good relationship with the second sister-in-law and no apparent conflicts of interest. She shouldn’t have targeted the second sister-in-law.
The only explanation was that Lin Xiang wanted to frame her?
No wonder Lin Xiang helped so vigorously when the second sister-in-law accused her earlier.
"Find the people who worked at the bar that night and bring them to me." Ji Yunhuan instructed.
Assistant Gao nodded. "Alright, but Mr. Qi called me upstairs. I need to go up first."
"Go ahead!"
During dinner, Ji Yunhuan didn’t call Qi Cheng.
The servant went to call him.
She wanted to see how long Qi Cheng could be manipulated by the second sister-in-law’s jealousy.
When Qi Cheng came downstairs and saw Ji Yunhuan having dinner with Yangyang and Ruirui, Ruirui was being looked after by the servant. The little boy’s mood greatly improved when he saw Ji Yunhuan.
In contrast, Yangyang still didn’t say a word.
Ji Yunhuan looked at him. "What did you talk about with Uncle Bai today? Can you tell me?"
Yangyang focused on his food in silence.
Seeing him treat her so coldly, Ji Yunhuan sighed almost inaudibly.
The entire household’s atmosphere depended on the innocent Ruirui.
"Sir." The servant’s voice sounded behind her, and she sensed a cold presence, making her face darken.
It seemed he wanted to continue this!
Ji Yunhuan ignored Qi Cheng and quickly finished her meal. As soon as Qi Cheng sat down, Ji Yunhuan said, "I’m full."
She stood up and left quickly. Qi Cheng watched her departing figure, subconsciously furrowing his brow. She was angry!
Clearly, she was entangled with Bai Liyan. Now she was angry?
Ji Yunhuan was showering when she heard the door open. She looked up and saw Qi Cheng at the door.
"What are you doing here?"
"Your hand is injured. I wanted to see if you needed help." He suppressed his discontent, not wanting to make things too tense with her.
Ji Yunhuan looked at her hand. The bandage was wet, but she would change it soon. She dismissed him. "You didn’t care yesterday, so I don’t need it today."
"Are you giving me attitude now?"
"Ridiculous. Who gave me attitude last night?" Ji Yunhuan indifferently looked at this jealous man.
Qi Cheng froze. Just as he managed to convince himself to be more tolerant, her indifferent attitude hit him hard.
Ji Yunhuan ignored him, got dressed, and left the room. Ruirui had already been brought up and was racing around in his walker.
"Ruirui, come over here." Ji Yunhuan clapped her hands, and the little boy hurried over.
Seeing how welcomed she was by her son delighted Ji Yunhuan. She gently held his face, kissed his head, and let him play again. Ji Yunhuan asked the servant for the medicine and removed the bandage.
She applied the medicine and rewrapped her hand.
Qi Cheng stood watching her from the bathroom, feeling like an outsider in Ji Yunhuan’s world.
Sometimes he couldn’t help but think that if he hadn’t stubbornly stayed by her side, she wouldn’t spare him a glance.
To her, he was dispensable.
Late at night, Ji Yunhuan couldn’t sleep. Qi Cheng beside her turned over for the umpteenth time, waking her just as she was about to drift off.
He seemed very uneasy.
This was rare for him.
Such an uneasy Qi Cheng looked like a child fearing loss.
Ji Yunhuan found him laughable.
Even now, he doubted her relationship with Bai Liyan.
But, after all, she had done many things to make him misunderstand.
Although she thought she should wait for him to realize his mistake, seeing him so uneasy and knowing she had caused his torment, she finally softened.
Qi Cheng’s mind was in turmoil.
All night, he stared dazedly at Ji Yunhuan’s back. The longer he watched, the stronger the urge to apologize became.
Yet, thinking of how she could still fall asleep during his anger, apologizing would seem weak. He forcibly suppressed his impulse.
