Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Cousin-Chapter 563 She Got Burned_1
Ji Yunhuan smiled helplessly. "Don’t tease him. It’s not easy for him to climb up."
"Who’s letting him stick to you all the time?"
"Weren’t you the one who told him to stick to me?" Just now, to make her happy, he handed their son over to her. "But it’s been too long. In this world, he’s probably the only one who dares to stick to my wife like that."
"..."
She thought he was jealous of their son. Turns out, he was jealous for herself.
With her son keeping her company, Ji Yunhuan slept well at night. But her sister-in-law didn’t sleep at all. Before contacting her second brother, her heart couldn’t settle.
Or rather, even after contacting her second brother, her heart might not settle because she wasn’t sure what kind of answer she would get from him.
The next morning, when her sister-in-law got up, she saw Luo Shan in the courtyard, accompanied by the servants. Now pregnant with a Qi Family child, the servants naturally treated her very carefully.
Seeing this scene, her sister-in-law felt even more desolate. With no child of her own, she never enjoyed such treatment. Clearly a mistress without status, yet here she was, acting like the legitimate wife.
She went downstairs, and the servant saw her. "Second Young Madam."
Her sister-in-law’s gaze fell on Luo Shan, who uneasily avoided her eyes. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Her sister-in-law walked up to Luo Shan, raising her chin with a hand. "Why are you hiding when you see me?"
Luo Shan bit her lip. "I just like him. I didn’t mean to steal your place. Don’t worry, once I give birth to this child, I will leave."
"Steal?" Her sister-in-law disdainfully looked at this woman. "Do you think you can steal my place?"
"I didn’t think that," Luo Shan said.
Her sister-in-law’s gaze fell to Luo Shan’s belly. Knowing it carried her second brother’s child, anger nearly overwhelmed her.
"Shi Xuan." The voice of the Qi mother sounded nearby. Her sister-in-law instinctively let go of Luo Shan. Qi mother came over and told the servants, "Take Miss Luo to rest."
Luo Shan was quickly taken away by the servants.
Qi mother’s gaze fell on her sister-in-law. "If this child truly is your second brother’s, let her give birth. After all, you’ve been wanting a child, haven’t you?"
Sadness immediately appeared on her sister-in-law’s face. "This child is not his."
"We won’t know until he comes back."
"Even if it’s his, I won’t let this child be born," her sister-in-law said angrily.
"Even if she gives birth, it won’t change anything. By then, you’ll have another child along with your second brother. Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted? How many conflicts have you had with Yunhuan for Yangyang?"
"But Jingyu is mine. He’s my man and my husband. Do I have to watch another woman give birth to his child?" Her sister-in-law looked at her mother in disbelief. "How could you make such a decision?"
"Isn’t this what you wanted?" Qi mother was really fed up recently, thinking this child came at a perfect time.
"Mom." Her sister-in-law looked helplessly at Qi mother. "Are you helping Qi Cheng bully me?"
"I’m just doing it for your good. Should I just watch you and Qi Cheng fight over Yangyang’s issues all the time? Do you know how much you’ve changed because of Yangyang? Since you want a child, let Luo Shan give birth."
"I don’t want another child. Why is mom doing this to me when it’s clearly Ji Yunhuan’s fault!"
"I don’t want to say more to you." After all, her sister-in-law had been with her second brother for many years, and Qi mother didn’t want to be too harsh.
Her sister-in-law watched Qi mother walk away, her eyes full of sadness. Because she didn’t have a child, her opinions seemed weak and powerless.
Luo Shan had returned upstairs and was on the phone.
"Did she believe it?"
Luo Shan smiled. "It seems so."
If she didn’t, her sister-in-law wouldn’t hate her this much.
"Good, then." Qi Cheng hung up the phone, walked to the window, stretched his arms, and felt much better.
Her sister-in-law had ruined his mood for days.
He sat down at the desk. When he opened the drawer, he accidentally found the photos of Bai Liyan and Ji Yunhuan sent by his sister-in-law. Although she constantly tried to create discord, he couldn’t believe Bai Liyan had no feelings for Ji Yunhuan.
Ji Yunhuan was downstairs, watching Yangyang. It had been days since they brought Yangyang back, yet his attitude hadn’t improved at all. She looked at him helplessly. "Yangyang, the weather is nice today. How about I take you outside to play?"
She didn’t want to keep him at home. Seeing him like this made her heart ache.
Yangyang didn’t reply.
Ji Yunhuan reached out, trying to hold him. She didn’t want this to go on any longer and hoped to have a good conversation with her son.
When Yangyang felt her touch, he struggled furiously, kicking and flailing without making a sound.
"You’re this disobedient?" Ji Yunhuan placed him in front of her and looked at him helplessly.
Being stared at made Yangyang extremely uncomfortable. He turned to grab a water cup from the table. "Do you want water? I’ll get it for you," Ji Yunhuan said, reaching for the cup of tea she made. The water was still hot. She planned to pour it into another cup for him. But as soon as she picked it up, Yangyang pushed her hand away, spilling the hot water on her.
Ji Yunhuan withdrew her hand in pain. Bai Liyan, who had just come in from outside, saw this and quickly walked over. "Are you okay?"
The water was scorching hot, and her hand turned red. Ignoring her burn, Ji Yunhuan looked at Yangyang’s face, only to find he had no reaction.
Bai Liyan fetched some water and put her hand in the basin. Seeing her attention still on Yangyang despite her burn, Bai Liyan felt helpless. "Why are you staring at him? You’re the one who got hurt."
Looking at her reddened hand, Ji Yunhuan felt a burning pain. Bai Liyan seemed more anxious than she was, carefully treating her wound while listening to her say, "What’s this pain?"
What truly hurt her was Yangyang’s attitude.
Although it wasn’t intentional, her burn didn’t elicit any reaction from him. It seemed like he didn’t care at all.
In the past, Yangyang would feel guilty whenever she was upset. But now... he didn’t focus on her at all.
Qi Cheng came downstairs and saw Bai Liyan carefully applying burn ointment to Ji Yunhuan’s hand. His eyes darkened.
Seeing Bai Liyan holding her hand, an inexplicable discomfort surged in Qi Cheng’s chest, making him feel suffocated again.
Despite Bai Liyan being a doctor and always caring for Ji Yunhuan, his concern at that moment was an eyesore for Qi Cheng.
