Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 362: You’re Not Allowed to Leave
Chapter 362: You’re Not Allowed to Leave
The room went dead silent as the video ended. Every face in the room twisted with shock and discomfort.
Joe’s eyes widened in disbelief, thinking he must have seen it wrong. He looked anxiously toward Angelica, silently asking for confirmation—why did the footage show her falling on her own? Why hadn’t Selina touched her at all?
Angelica’s breath caught. She never imagined Logan actually had surveillance footage!
She looked more fragile and innocent than ever. "I... I don’t know. I really don’t know... I was panicking at the time, I thought it was Selina..."
"You thought?" Selina let out a cold laugh. "So just because Angelica cries, I’m automatically guilty? I got slapped by Mr. Morris for nothing."
"If Logan hadn’t had evidence, the Morris family was ready to rip out my uterus. And you think a simple ’I don’t know’ erases all that?"
Joe flushed with shame. He realized he’d jumped to conclusions too quickly. His misjudgment had nearly framed an innocent woman. "But Angelica was injured too..."
Grandma Morris wasn’t about to let the opportunity slip away. "Maybe Selina said something that upset Angelica! Angelica, what exactly did she say to you?" freewёbnoνel-com
Angelica’s body trembled, her eyes darting as she deliberately misled everyone. "I... I don’t remember. I just know Selina hates me..."
Grandma Morris pounced on that. "See?! Selina upset her, that’s why Angelica fell!"
The crowd exchanged uneasy glances. That did sound plausible...
"How ridiculous," Luke said dryly. "So let’s solve this little riddle. Listen up, everyone. Angelica seeks out Selina. Angelica stops Selina to talk. Angelica falls down the stairs by herself. Now tell me—whose fault is it?"
Joe’s heart sank with a bad feeling, but before he could interrupt, Luke put on a show of exaggerated realization and answered his own question:
"Oh—right! Of course it’s Selina’s fault!"
The crowd couldn’t help themselves—some actually laughed.
Luke wasn’t wrong. Angelica approached Selina, Angelica fell on her own... and now everyone was blaming Selina?
What exactly did she do wrong?
Was her mistake in not confessing to something she didn’t do, when Angelica tried to frame her? Was it in not yielding to the Morris family’s pressure?
Joe knew, deep down, that Selina likely had nothing to do with what happened today.
But... Angelica lost her baby. Selina was the only one there. How was he supposed to stay calm?
Even if Selina wasn’t at fault, couldn’t she just show a little compassion, just once?
After thinking it over, Joe finally said, "Miss Clark—"
"Dad," Angelica interrupted through tears, "it really wasn’t Selina’s fault. It was me. I’m sorry."
"I don’t feel well... I want to go to the hospital..."
Right. The hospital. That was the priority now!
Selina’s gaze turned ice-cold.
Angelica was never pregnant. The blood wasn’t even hers. If she made it to the hospital now, they’d confirm the ’miscarriage’—and that would prove she had really been pregnant.
That couldn’t happen.
As Joe picked Angelica up to carry her out, Selina stepped forward and blocked his way without hesitation.
"Get out of the way!" Joe roared.
Selina’s face was stone cold. "Mr. Morris, there’s still something that hasn’t been clarified."
"Selina, move. Can’t you see Angelica’s condition? She needs to go to the hospital!"
Angelica moaned dramatically, putting on an act of unbearable pain.
Joe’s rage boiled over. "Somebody get her out of the way!"
Morris family’s bodyguards started to move—but Logan’s men blocked the doorway.
Joe’s face darkened. His voice dropped to a low, dangerous growl.
"Logan, what the hell do you think you’re doing?"
Logan’s tone was calm. "Selina said there’s still one more thing that hasn’t been cleared up."
"Angelica had a miscarriage!" Joe exploded. "You’re all really going to risk a pregnant woman’s life just to satisfy your damn curiosity over some trivial matter?!"
Joe’s anger flared. "Even if Angelica misunderstood Selina earlier, it’s already been explained. Can’t the rest of it wait? Does it really have to be settled at the cost of someone’s life?"
But Logan didn’t budge. Jack and his men had sealed off the entire Reid estate.
Grandpa Reid started realizing something was wrong. "Logan... what are you doing? Tell your men to stand down!"
Since when had Logan made these arrangements? The entire estate was under his watch, and he hadn’t noticed a thing?
Logan’s lips curved slightly, his tone relaxed. "Grandpa, Selina wants the truth, and so do I. Sorry, but until we have it, no one’s leaving."
"Logan!" Grandpa Reid was furious, feeling his authority being challenged.
Amelia jumped in, putting on a show of false concern. "Dad, don’t be angry. Logan, you’ve always been cold-blooded, but that’s the Morris Family’s daughter we’re talking about! Can’t whatever this is wait until after Angelica gets to the hospital?"
Owen saw his chance to stand out. "Big Brother, you’re in the wrong here. Your child is gone, and you won’t even let Angelica see a doctor? How heartless can you be?"
Because this involved internal Reid Family matters, none of the other guests dared to speak up.
But Joe wasn’t so restrained. He gritted his teeth. "Logan, I used to think you were a man of responsibility. Look at you now—siding with Selina, letting her cause chaos. Do you even care if Angelica lives or dies?!"
"She never should’ve saved you back then. You should’ve just died four years ago!"
The room went completely silent.
That was too far. It wasn’t just criticism—it was practically a curse wishing Logan dead.
No one dared say a word. After a long beat, it was Selina who broke the silence.
"Mr. Morris," she said, voice cool. "Not letting you leave doesn’t mean we won’t let Angelica get medical help."
Joe snapped, "Don’t pretend to care now!"
"I’m not pretending," Selina blinked innocently. "Think about it, Mr. Morris. The Reid estate is halfway up a mountain. Even the nearest hospital is over forty minutes away by car. Can Angelica really hold out that long? What if the drive makes things worse? You sure you want to risk it?"
Joe hesitated, brow furrowing.
She had a point...
"Then what do you suggest?"
"Simple!" Selina snapped her fingers. "Isn’t there a doctor here? Even if the family doctor isn’t qualified enough, isn’t the young master of the Foster Family here too?"
The Foster heir...
All eyes turned to Aiden, standing calmly nearby.
Joe looked a bit swayed. "But..."
"Dad." Angelica’s voice cut in, clenched with barely concealed panic. She hadn’t been pregnant in the first place. If a real doctor examined her, the truth would be exposed. She had to leave. That was the only way to protect her lie.
