Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 360: I Don’t Want Him
Chapter 360: I Don’t Want Him
So she was Joe’s real daughter.
After Joe’s so-called "reunion" with Angelica—after forcing his biological daughter to get a divorce just for Angelica—Selina now realized he was actually her father?
And now she finally understood why Kyle had suddenly started being nice to her.
Kyle, who had always looked down on her, who blamed her for Angelica’s supposed suffering, suddenly changed one day—he stopped calling her "Miss Clark" and started calling her warmly by her first name: "Selina."
He had known all along, but he kept up the lie anyway.
Selina felt like there was nothing more revolting in the world. Her chest rose and fell rapidly; dizziness overwhelmed her. Her head throbbed, and nausea surged in waves.
"Miss Clark, are you okay?" Joe noticed something was off.
Selina took a deep breath. "Chairman Morris—"
"Chairman Morris, something’s wrong! You need to check on Miss Angelica!" A man’s voice interrupted as someone rushed over, panic in his tone.
"Miss Angelica said she was feeling pain in her stomach and kept crying, saying she wanted to see you!"
Joe immediately stopped caring about whatever Selina was trying to say. He turned in a hurry. "I’ll go check on Angelica right away!"
After Joe left, the assistant who had spoken furrowed his brows and looked at Selina.
"Miss Clark, Chairman Morris is Miss Angelica’s father. You’ve already stolen her husband—do you have to steal her father too? Have some shame."
Selina slowly closed her eyes.
All those years ago, the Clark Family had already begun scheming against her and her mother.
They caused her mother’s death. They took her inheritance. And even that wasn’t enough—they used her very identity as a stepping stone for their own rise.
Joe. Kyle. The Morris Family.
"Luke was just looking for you." Logan’s voice came from nearby as he approached.
Selina sat curled in a corner, hugging her knees. She looked up, dazed. "Logan."
"I heard what you and Chairman Morris talked about." Logan sat down beside her. "So Joe is your biological father?"
"Probably."
"Do you want to acknowledge him?"
Selina looked lost. "I used to suspect James wasn’t really my father. He treated me so badly that I convinced myself my real dad must be a good man."
Logan stayed quiet, listening.
"But now that I’ve met Joe, I can’t help but think... maybe I was never meant to have parents who actually loved me."
Selina looked like a little hedgehog curled up in the corner, quietly exposing her soft underside when no one was looking—showing that even she could feel fragile.
Logan studied her for a moment. Then he flicked her on the forehead. "It’s Joe’s loss for not having you."
His voice was calm. "Chairman Morris chose the wrong person. Even with Kyle’s hints, he still insisted on believing what he wanted. It’s not love—it’s just guilt."
Grandma Morris had seen through Angelica right away. Kyle had acted oddly for a reason. If Joe had truly cared, he could’ve uncovered the truth long ago.
He wasn’t worth Selina’s pain.
Selina nodded. Her voice was resolute: "I don’t want a father like that."
A short distance away, Aiden leaned against the wall, arms crossed, having heard everything Logan said. He nodded to himself.
Alright. Selina’s husband... didn’t seem half bad.
Around 10 p.m., the guests began settling into the guest rooms arranged by the butler. As Selina approached her room, she suddenly heard a voice behind her.
"Selina, can we talk?"
It was Angelica.
Selina narrowed her eyes and, for the first time, looked at Angelica with true seriousness.
How terrifying does a person have to be to start scheming over ten years ago?
Angelica had pretended to be the Morris daughter for over a decade, just to climb her way to the top.
Selina didn’t care whether Joe was her father or not—but she could not let Angelica claim her mother.
The Clark Family had killed her mom. Angelica had used her to climb the social ladder.
And now she wanted to become Victoria’s daughter?
Not a chance.
"Selina," Angelica suddenly said with a smile, "you guessed right. I’m not pregnant."
Selina raised an eyebrow with interest. "So you’re done pretending?"
Angelica let out a theatrical sigh. "We’re sisters, after all. No need to hide it from you. But so what if you know? You can run downstairs and tell them I’m not pregnant—do you really think anyone will believe you?"
Selina gave her a half-smile. "You’re awfully confident."
Angelica smirked. "It’s not confidence—it’s just facts."
She added with a touch of smugness, "In everyone’s eyes, I’m sweet and innocent. Who would ever think I’d fake a pregnancy? And let’s not forget, I’ve got the entire Morris Family behind me... Oh, speaking of which—"
Her tone suddenly brightened. "What were you talking to my dad about earlier, Selina? Did you finally notice that the name ’Mrs. Morris’ is the same as your dead mom’s?"
Selina’s expression went cold. "Watch your mouth."
Angelica shrugged, as if she were being unfairly scolded. "She’s dead. Am I not even allowed to say that? Calling that cursed woman ’Mom’ is already a huge compromise! That slut Victoria ruined my mother’s whole life, made her a mistress—and now I’m supposed to call her mom? Do you have any idea how disgusting that is for me?"
Selina’s voice turned ice-cold, word by word. "You will pay for this, Angelica."
Angelica burst out laughing. "Pay for it? You won’t even get the chance!"
She suddenly grinned maniacally. "Guess what’s going to happen when they find out I’ve ’lost the baby’ in a bit?"
Lost the baby?
Selina’s heart dropped. Angelica wasn’t pregnant to begin with—
And then, it hit her. Angelica was going to fake a miscarriage.
Without a word, Angelica had already stepped toward the staircase. She let go of the handrail and deliberately leaned backward—her entire body falling down the stairs!
"Ahhh!"
"Angelica!"
The loud scream drew people running from nearby. When they saw Angelica lying in a pool of blood, everyone froze in shock before chaos erupted.
"There’s so much blood!"
"Selina, are you even human?! She’s pregnant!"
"Oh my God, this much blood—she’s definitely lost the baby!"
"Chairman Morris, come quickly—Angelica’s hurt!"
Selina stood frozen, horrified.
This was it. This was Angelica’s plan all along.
By throwing herself down the stairs and claiming a miscarriage, who would still doubt her pregnancy?
"Angelica!" Joe shoved through the crowd and dropped to his knees, panic all over his face. "Angelica, are you okay?"
"My baby... my baby..." Angelica’s face was twisted in pain, eyes glistening with tears. "Dad, if I die, please don’t be sad..."
"Don’t say that! You’re not going to die!" Joe tried to stay calm, but the sight of blood kept tightening around his heart.
He had just found his daughter—he couldn’t lose her now. Victoria would never forgive him.
"Dad..." Angelica gasped weakly, almost as if she were sending a signal. "Don’t blame Selina... it was all my fault..."
Selina.
Joe’s eyes locked on her, his thoughts spinning—his grief turning into anger.
Selina. It was her. It had to be her.
If it weren’t for Selina, he wouldn’t be losing his daughter again.
And with that, Joe’s expression twisted in fury. He suddenly raised his hand—
Smack!
A loud slap landed squarely across Selina’s face.
