Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 332: A Head That Only Adds to Height
Chapter 332: A Head That Only Adds to Height
The fact that Rowan and Logan were the same height and build—and that Rowan always appeared when Logan was absent, and vice versa—hit Selina like a jolt of lightning.
A terrifying thought surged through her mind.
No way. No. It couldn’t be...
It shouldn’t be possible. Why would Logan, a man who practically ruled over City A with an iron fist, go to such lengths to take on a second identity as Rowan just to invest in a fashion competition?
Back on stage, after Angelica finished speaking, silence fell for a few tense seconds.
Everyone had expected Rowan to agree with Angelica’s defense of Star—but instead...
"Miss Angelica, Mr. Rigel," Rowan said coolly, voice flat and unimpressed, "you say you’re students of Star. But when you were lying—did it not occur to you..."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"...that Star might be here in person?"
A stunned silence blanketed the room.
Wait, what? Star is here? Rigel and Angelica were lying?
Selina blinked. Now this is getting fun.
She tilted her head slightly, sarcasm dancing in her voice.
"Maybe you two have lied so much, you actually believe yourselves."
Angelica’s breath caught. A wave of terror washed over her.
Star is here? That was impossible! She had asked around—Star was definitely not supposed to attend this year!
Then who was it?
No... no, it couldn’t be Selina!
Rowan rose from his seat at the judges’ table and stepped onto the stage.
Angelica’s mind scrambled for a way out. There had to be something—some way to spin this. If that person wasn’t Selina, she could still salvage this.
She could offer money. A house. Jewels. Career opportunities.
Surely something would matter to Star!
Meanwhile, Angelica’s relative, one of the Morris family’s clingy social climbers, leaned over to Joe, trying to butter him up.
"Joe, that Selina girl is outrageous! Look at her, making up such nonsense. Angelica is clearly Star’s student! You can’t let her get away with this!"
Joe turned to look at Selina. For some reason, she looked oddly familiar in that moment.
His silence emboldened the Morris woman further. She saw this as her golden chance to cozy up to the real Morris heir—Angelica. If she could win favor here, what riches might come later?
"Utter nonsense!" she shrieked. "Angelica would never lie! Selina, what, are you trying to say you’re Star? What gives you the right to even mention her name!"
Angelica stiffened, panic creeping into her voice.
"Selina, Auntie is right. I can help you clear your name on the plagiarism thing, but don’t pretend to be Star. You can’t possibly be her, there’s no way—"
She didn’t finish.
Because just then, Rowan stepped forward.
The crowd instinctively parted to let him through as he walked slowly toward Selina.
Ignoring Angelica’s panic. Ignoring the aunt’s screeching. Ignoring the stunned faces.
Rowan stopped in front of Selina with a soft, amused smile and gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face.
"Little junior sister" he said with unmistakable fondness, "had your fun yet?"
The crowd exploded.
Little junior sister—?! Everyone knew Rowan had only one "little junior sister."
Star.
There was no way Rowan would throw Star under the bus just to flatter a woman—so there was only one explanation.
Selina was Star.
At that very moment, Reid Group released a statement confirming their upcoming collaboration with Star to launch two luxury gowns. On the official contract, Star signed her real name: Selina Clark.
Between Rowan and Logan’s mutual validation, there was no longer any doubt.
Selina was Star.
...
Angelica staggered backward, her face contorted with disbelief and rage.
No. No way!
Selina couldn’t be Star. That untouchable legend, the one everyone in the industry admired and envied... how could that person be Selina?
No!
Clark Family had tried so hard to ruin her. They cut her off, abandoned her, left her to rot with nothing.
So why... why did Selina keep surviving?
Why did she keep rising, again and again, shining brighter each time?
Now she was Star?
Angelica’s mind went blank—until a horrifying realization dawned on her, and her face turned ghostly white.
"Angelica," Selina said sweetly, blinking innocently. "I’m just a little curious—when exactly did you and Rigel become my disciples? Because I don’t recall that at all."
Angelica’s face turned ghostly pale in an instant.
The crowd was still reeling from the explosive revelation that Selina was Star. But at Selina’s casual question, everyone suddenly looked up.
Right—if Selina was Star, and she clearly never took Angelica as a student, then all these years of Angelica and Rigel claiming to be Star’s protégés had been a complete lie?
"Damn," someone muttered from the audience. "Angelica really tried to clout-chase a legend."
"Right? She and Selina are enemies, but now she’s claiming to be her student? What a joke. First she plagiarizes, then plays the victim, and on top of that, she dares to throw the real designer under the bus."
"And Rigel—if he were really Star’s student, wouldn’t he recognize her face? The two of them trashed Star while milking her name for clout. Disgusting."
"Angelica’s a backstabbing fraud. She should be banned from the industry!"
Angelica was trembling from head to toe, her mind completely blank. She looked like she was about to faint.
"No, that’s not true... You’re framing me—Selina, you set me up..."
Joe stepped forward, unable to watch anymore. "Miss Selina, I know Angelica has wronged you, but surely you can let it go for the sake of the years you spent as sisters..."
Selina raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me, Chairman Morris, with a brain like that, how are you still running Morris Group? Is the company doing okay? Not bankrupt yet?"
Luke nearly choked. "Is your brain just for height, sitting up there like a hood ornament? Try rerouting a little blood to your head. She’s been plagiarized and slandered, and you’re still going on about ’sisterly love’? Seriously?"
A laugh burst out somewhere in the crowd.
Joe’s face turned beet red. He knew Angelica had done wrong, but surely Victoria’s daughter couldn’t be this ruthless. There had to be more to the story. And since Selina wasn’t even listening to Angelica’s explanation, he felt compelled to step in as a father.
Kyle stood there, lost. He knew Selina was his real sister, yet he just couldn’t stand the way she was acting—so sharp, so unforgiving. Angelica was crying, couldn’t Selina see that?
In Kyle’s mind, everyone had taken Selina’s side. But since they were both his sisters, he needed to be "fair." So with a conflicted expression, he looked at Selina with what he thought was tender concern.
"Selina," he began, "I know you’re doing this because the Morris Family has always treated Angelica well, and you feel resentful... but being so aggressive about it won’t make us respect you more."
Selina: "...?"
Did Kyle have a screw loose? Since when did she need Morris Family’s approval? What did their love for Angelica have to do with her? Why did he sound like he thought she was jealous or something?
Luke looked like he was about to throw up from the secondhand embarrassment and was just opening his mouth to deliver a snarky comment when Rowan suddenly let out a soft chuckle.
Still masked, Rowan’s voice was casual but cutting. "She’s jealous of Angelica because the Morris Family treats her well? Mr. Morris, you’re flattering yourselves. The Morris Family isn’t even worth my little junior sister’s attention."
At the words "my little junior sister," Selina’s heart skipped a beat.
