Chapter 194: The Results

’Very ironic... and at the same time, odd.’ Nathan thought, with a dry chuckle. If anyone heard his thoughts, they would think he was crazy.

"I’m also curious about something." Harry suddenly said, causing Nathan’s brows to raise in confusion.

"How were you able to boost your speed like that. Is it a technique?" Harry asked. It was one thing that still surprised him, his stats were higher than Nathan’s but during the fight, the combat mage’s speed unexpectedly increased drastically, up to the point where it matched his own.

"Ohh, it’s due to a movement technique I learned. By pumping mana into my legs, I can pretty much double my speed." Nathan replied, pausing for a second before continuing: "There are different stages to it, you can think of those stages as gears. I’m currently in the second stage."

"Ohh... movement techniques." Harry mumbled, a weird glint flashing through his eyes. He didn’t know much about combat mages skills and abilities, but he knew just they boosted their power using skills and techniques.

’It sounds like something exclusive to combat mages, but since I’m manaless, I should be able to use it too. Right?’ Harry thought, mentally sending a question to the other voice, but to his disappointment, he got no reply.

’Whatever, I’ll just look into it later.’ He thought, letting out a low sigh.

"You know, I’ve never seen an Elementalist like you before... with such high physical abilities." Nathan said, sitting down on his ground with his sword lying on the ground beside him.

"It might seem weird that I’m giving you advice, especially since I lost that duel, but I would like to spar with you again. I believe that’s the best way for me to grow." Nathan said, his eyes gleaming with delight.

He didn’t know just how powerful Harry really was, but he was willing to find out, even if it would take duelling against him a hundred times.

And through the duels, he was sure he would also grow in strength.

"Sure." Harry replied, his lips curling into a slight smile. "I’ll spar with as many times as you want, but... you’ll also tell me more about that movement technique."

"Huh? Why would you want to learn about that, you’re an Elementalist. It’s basically useless for you." Nathan said, his brows furrowing slightly in confusion.

"Well... I just want to, I’ve always been curious about combat mages. Doesn’t really matter if I can use it... or not." Harry replied, rolling his eyes to the side while scratching his head awkwardly.

’An Elementalist curious about the techniques of combat mages... that’s a first.’ Nathan thought, with a slight smile.

Usually, most Elementalist viewed their techniques with disdain. They felt like it was inferior to their spells, and it wasn’t like they were totally wrong also.

"Fine, whatever you want." Nathan said, finding no reason to refuse Harry’s request.

"Really?!" Harry exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with joy and excitement. Before, he was planning on learning about movement techniques later in the future, but it would certainly be a lot better if he learnt it directly from a combat mage.

"Yeah." Nathan replied nonchalantly, rolling his eyes. He still didn’t understand why Harry was so excited about something he couldn’t learn, and it wasn’t like he would be training him on how to use it.

"Then we could have another spar right away. In fact, I’m feeling pumped right now!" Harry said, still happy about Nathan accepting his offer.

"That’s surprising, especially since you were the one initially against sparring with me." Nathan said, with a slight smirk on his face.

"Aren’t you exhausted?" He couldn’t help but ask.

"No, not at all." Harry replied. Although he used up a massive amount of energy during the spar, it had already fully regenerated.

"Huh?!" Nathan exclaimed in surprise. Even he was already quite exhausted, his mana pool had depleted greatly, especially from the repeated use of his movement technique.

However, his brows suddenly creased as he realised something. ’He just fought me... and isn’t even tired? Did that mean, our spar just now, was only a warm up for him?!’ He thought, his gaze crestfallen in disappointment.

Picking up his sword, he suddenly stood up, instantly challenging Harry to another spar.

"Fine, let’s have another duel!" Nathan said, his eyes shining with determination.

"Yeah, I accept," Harry replied, with a smug smirk on his face.

After that, the two teenagers had another duel, which Nathan eventually lost.

A few days later.

Harry walked down the academy hall, with a slight smile on his face as he stared at the screen in front of him.

A few more of his skills had levelled up again, mostly due to his repeated spars with Nathan.

And with Accelerate reaching level six, the amount of stats that was temporally allocated to his agility had gone all the up from 130, to 150!

The only thing that saddened him was that during all those spars with Nathan, not once did the system bring up a quest like it did with Susan.

If it did, then he could have used that chance to gather skill or stat points, no matter how small.

Perhaps, it was because of how strong he had gotten now, and even people at the third mana core stage were no longer considered overwhelming powerful by the system.

Although he had never gone all-out during his fight with Nathan, only limiting himself to his basic elemental skills, the combat mage still managed to drive him to the edge numerous times with his overwhelming attacks.

While those continuous sword attacks gave him a lot of trouble, it was also thanks to them that his skills was able to level up, and even his fighting ability improved quite a bit.

As he walked, the eyes of student’s passing by lingered on him, but he simply ignored them.

He had gotten used to the attention ever since the last stage of the ranking event.

Out of all the twenty-five finalists, he was like the dark horse among them. The one no one expected to qualify, and still, he qualified for the final stage, shocking both the students and even the instructors.

He even heard that some students had already started a fan club in his name, but he didn’t believe it.

The moment for the most anticipated stage of the ranking competition had arrived. A week had elapsed since the second stage, and now, the final stage awaited.
