On the streets of the stronghold, a brustish man with leather amour and a curved sword barked, as his men ran out from within an administrative building with several bags filled wit gold.

It seemed like they were robbing the place.

"Be fast with it, we can’t be here when the city guards clash with Crimson Fang Legion" the brustish man hurried his fellow gang members up his eyes were filled with worry.

"Neigh!!!"

However, they were already too late, At this moment there was a unit of city guards riding towards their location at full speed.

They had noticed something was wrong from the very beginning, but rules of engagement dictated that they couldn’t Mobilze the entire city guard until they received word from the great mages. Unknown to them, those very mages were the ones attacked first by Leon and his team.

"Shit" the brutish man upon seeing the city guard charge at them couldn’t help but curse with annoyance. This was bad, they outnumbered them by a lot.

Fortunately, their own reinforcements appeared in the nic of time too—a unit of heavy armed men in crimson red amour flashed through the opposite side of the street heading straight for the city guard.

In no time they clashed as a bloody battle broke out on the street.

This was not special though, as through the stronghold, similar scenes were occurring all over. The stronghold was not only being attacked, it was being pillaged.

"Sigh" Leon who sat atop the waypoint tower in the middle of the stronghold smiled with a sense of accomplishment .

His 5,000 man army had completely consumed this strong hold taking not only its land but also its treasures.

Meanwhile, their so called protectors where being either pummeled into the ground or were already lifeless corpses due to Leon’s friends.

It was just a matter of time before the city guards caved and the entire thing was his to pillage.

"Hey boss" a young man in crimson amour appeared behind Leon and bowed with one knee on the ground.

"What is it?" Leon threw his head back and looked playfully staring at the young man.

This was his first companion in Finor world, back when they were prisoners in the Dalriss family camp,This kid was his most trusted aid, and even now there was no difference.

He was still as loyal as ever

"We received a message from the clans main army" Gunta walked forward and handed over a letter with the blood serpent clans insignia on it.

Leon had taken Gunta from under the nose of the defense units of the blood serpent clan and made him the leader of his faceless night legion. They were in charge of his recon and quick assassinations missions.

All throughout the clearing of the riverbanks, Leon had used him and his men. Gunta was extremely effective, having survived in Duan city along side Leon. There was nothing he didn’t know about the shadowy tactics of the faceless mercenary company. The only other persons more suited for this roll was Ember and Arian.

"Oh?" Leon collected the letter and smiled looking at the clan’s insignia with an unbothered expression.

At the same time, Liana appeared behind Gunta causing him to sweat profusely. This lady didnt want to let him be, He had a faceless mask on, but Liana knew it was him.

Even after she had caught him a couple months ago, she wouldn’t let him be, constantly chasing him around the army. It had become a running joke even that Liana was his mother.

Naturally, she was not. But no one believed him.

Of course, he also knew why this was. Liana felt guilty for taking the life of Guntas father, so she didn’t want harm to come to him, but here he was, the leader of a sucidial force killing people in the shadows.

How was this any safer?

"I see" Leon asked like he couldn’t here the lecturing match happening behind him between Liana and Gunta as he focused purely on the letter in hand.

At this point of the war, the alliance had successfully laid seige to several celestial palace Allegists and wiped their names off the face of the earth. This was fairly easy though, because the people from celestial palace were very quick to abandon dukedoms, strongholds and any power that wasn’t beneficial economically.

Now, they were facing true opposition for their first time though, as they had finally reached truly valuable powers around the territory.

Unlike the alliance though, Leon had been for the most of it, focusing on pillaging strongholds and small settlements to enrich himself. Him and his force like many others were leeching off the war.

"Sigh, he really thinks he can control me huh?" Leon smirked bitterly. Kangs message sounded more like a command than a request. It seemed like he was forgetting Leon’s special status in the blood serpent clan.

"Whatever, I was craving some action anyway" tucking away the letter Leon turned to stronghold in flames. A smile broke out on his face.

Leon planned to accumulate enough money from these campaigns to fund his trip to the myriad inheritances of the emperors given to him by Altor.

These places were guarded by powers that one could not fully understand. But with money they would surely succumb, and as for those who refuse, he would find another way to get through them.

But for now, the treasures were his number one priority, and where better to accumulate treasures than the royal captal of a kingdom under seige?
