Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 270: Aftermath
In a day, all of BloodRock City was united under one banner. In a week, the entire city was militarized under the iron-clad rule of the Blood Serpent Clan.
It all happened in the blink of an eye, as if it had been in the works all this time. They even managed to set up a city-wide formation with the help of Black Wing. It shocked everyone in the surrounding area.
BloodRock City was no longer a no man’s land; it was now the sole property of the Blood Serpent Clan.
"What do you mean by that? There’s no way we’re going to let them go scot-free like that!!" Atop a magnificent mountain far away from BloodRock City, a man in golden robes barked with blazing fury in his eyes.
The old fool Nephron had come into their clan and caused so much chaos, not just once but twice. He had even taken his hand this time. Were they really going to let him go because he entered the transcendence stage?
"I understand how you feel, Brother Drothan, but this is much deeper than it seems. I promise you, there is no one who wants him dead as much as I do... but we have to compromise," Ziaman consoled, trying his best to calm Drothan down while holding down his own anger.
If his research was correct, then Nephron had been one of the defining factors that led to the death of his beloved wife and the former First Sovereign. There was nothing he wanted more than to punish Nephron for his crimes.
Unfortunately, this was impossible right now. The situation was much deeper than he had initially thought.
"Hmm, growing senile, I see," Thane muttered to the side, throwing wood into the fire. Drothan wasn’t the only one who had been harmed during the whole event.
Kang had brutally murdered Cious’ body, causing him to go through the traumatic experience of dying. He wanted to cut a path into BloodRock City right now and make Kang feel the exact same agony of death, too.
But he clearly couldn’t do it alone. After all, Nephron, who was at Quasi-Level 5, was already capable of taking Drothan’s arm. One could only imagine what he was capable of now...
"Don’t you have somewhere to be, Thane?" Ziaman asked, annoyance flashing in his eyes as he stared down at Thane, who was already in battle armor. He clearly just wanted to fight.
"My decision is final. If any of you want to attack BloodRock City, you’ll do it without the Golden Griffin Clan’s men and as your own entity." Ziaman was tired of convincing them. He said his piece and turned around to head to the secret library, where he sighed deeply.
The entire place was littered with pieces of paper and thread connecting dots all over the place.
"It is for the best."
As he stared at the pictures of Nephron over the years, a voice resounded from the shadows.
"I know," Ziaman nodded, feeling a mix of relief and pain. They had been pawns all this time.
---
"It’s a Blood Official."
"Shhh, don’t let them see you, they are bad news."
"Hey!! Who said that?!"
Back in BloodRock City, there was a sense of calm and an energetic atmosphere in the air.
It had been three months since the supreme leader of the Blood Serpent Clan entered Level 5 and conquered BloodRock City. During this time, the city had prepared itself for the eventual attack of the Golden Griffin Clan and their allies.
The city formation was running, a militarized system of governance had been established, and power had been split accordingly. They were ready for any attack.
Unfortunately, the attack never came, and the higher-ups of the Blood Serpent Clan spoke nothing of it. Instead, they focused on integrating the blood clans into a system of classes and statuses to smoothly run the city without causing riots.
The city had changed. It was now led by City Lord Nephron and the Blood Serpent ministers, and beneath them, the blood clans. But even with that, the city was still essentially being controlled by the exact same people.
"Hm?" A wrinkled old man in a luxurious red uniform looked over his shoulder, his eyes straying to a group of youngsters pointing at him from a distance.
"Ahh, that’s right, I still have these on," the wrinkled old man muttered before steering his horse into the back alleys of the street. When he emerged, his clothes had changed into a dirty, ragged white robe that completely covered his body from the neck down.
As a member of the Blood Serpent Clan, they were given special status compared to the rest of the inhabitants of BloodRock City, so they had certain standards to uphold. He, in particular, didn’t like these standards as they were a bit too flashy, especially when he was going about his shady business. It was best if he looked like a proper commoner.
"Neigh."
After exiting the alleyway, he proceeded down the street until he reached a small, open-aired tavern with several people drinking tea under the canopy.
There, he dismounted his horse and tied it to a horse rack not too far away before entering the tavern.
"Is this seat taken?" the old wrinkled man inquired as he appeared before a tall man with blue hair and eyes that shone with a bright luster.
"No," the tall man said, shooing off the server before him.
"Thank you," the wrinkled old man said before taking his seat opposite the tall man with blue hair, a look of calm on his face.
"So... how’s business been, Brother Franklin?" After a few seconds of sitting and staring at each other, the wrinkled old man spoke straightforwardly.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.
"Hard, Brother Badur, extremely hard," the tall man smiled bitterly while taking a sip of the tea in front of him.
These two were naturally Leon in disguise and Franklin from the Celestial Merchant Group.
"I see... then tell me why my product can be found in every black marketplace in the city?" Leon asked sarcastically.
The moment the Blood Serpent Clan took over the city, there had been an upheaval in the business world, causing a lot of shuffling.
This did not affect the Celestial Merchant Company at all, though. They were just that powerful and influential.
