Male Lead's Canon Fodder Wife-Chapter 1293: Accusation
In this era, many women suffered after childbirth, bearing children for their husbands yet receiving little care in return. If they gave birth to a daughter instead of a son, they were often treated harshly and denied proper time to recover.
Judging by this young woman’s condition, she had likely given birth to a daughter. Even though she was still in the hospital, no one was taking care of her, and she barely had anything to eat.
How could she produce enough milk for her baby if she wasn’t properly nourished?
Mother Lu shook her head. No matter how much she sympathized with others, there was only so much she could do to help.
While the Lu family was busy at the hospital, the villagers of Xie Village were equally busy—gossiping. No one knew who started it, but by the time the sun had risen three poles high, word had already spread that Wang Muxiao was in labor.
At that moment, Liu Hua was in her yard washing clothes while her son played nearby, watching ants. One of her neighbors leaned against the fence and called out, "Liu Hua, what are you up to?"
Lifting her head, Liu Hua saw that it was the Zhu family’s daughter-in-law. They had never gotten along well, so she wondered what the woman wanted this time.
"Can’t you see? I’m washing clothes," she replied while rolling her eyes.
Seeing Liu Hua’s arrogance, the woman sneered and said, "Liu Hua ah, did you hear? Your good friend is in labor this morning."
Liu Hua remained calm. Her friend had already mentioned having contractions yesterday, and as experienced mothers, they both knew she would give birth within a day or two.
"Thanks to you, now I know," she replied indifferently.
The woman frowned at her lack of reaction and asked, "Aren’t you worried about your friend? I heard she was screaming like a pig when she was taken to the hospital. Looks like she won’t have a smooth labor this time."
Liu Hua stared at the woman and said angrily, "Fei Zhu, if you only know how to snort like a pig, you might as well shut up. No one will think you are mute if you don’t talk!"
Her words hit a sore spot. The woman’s name, Fei Zhu, sounded like "fat pig," and because of her large figure, the village children often made fun of her.
Hearing Liu Hua’s insult, Fei Zhu was enraged. She spatted and said, "Liu Hua, what are you so proud of? You don’t even know that your husband has another woman in town!"
The moment she heard her words, Liu Hua immediately flung the wet clothes in her hands back into the basin, splashing water everywhere.
She stood up, placed a hand on her hip, and pointed a finger at Fei Zhu’s nose and shouted, "Fei Zhu, you had better apologize and take back your words! How dare you slander my husband?!"
Seeing her reaction, Fei Zhu smirked and added with a glee, "What a fool! My husband saw your man giving a young woman a whole lot of meat in town. If she wasn’t his mistress, why would he be so generous?"
Liu Hua frowned at her words. Her husband had told her about a family in town that bought meat from him once a week.
The meat was given to the pig farm workers by Li Lingyun once every week. Since their family couldn’t finish all of it, they had been selling the excess on the black market.
It seemed someone had seen her husband making the transaction. She would have to inform her husband—they needed to stop selling meat for now and find another way.
Seeing Liu Hua fall silent, Fei Zhu assumed she was panicking. Her goal was to sow discord. She hated seeing Liu Hua being pampered by her husband.
With Liu Hua’s fiery personality, Fei Zhu was sure she would confront her husband, leading to a big fight.
Having achieved her goal, Fei Zhu laughed mockingly and said, "Liu Hua, I suggest you change your attitude, or your husband will divorce you soon."

With that, she turned and sashayed away, still chuckling.
Watching her back, Liu Hua spat at her back and said, "Crazy woman."
After Fei Zhu had left, Xiao Xi walked over and tugged at his mother’s sleeve.
Feeling the pull, Liu Hua looked down and saw her son gazing up at her. She squatted down, patted his back, and asked gently, "Xixi, what’s wrong?"
Xiao Xi was still young, but ever since befriending Dong Huang, he had learned a lot.
He had heard that that auntie mentioned that his father had another woman. Though he didn’t fully understand why that was bad, he knew it would make his mother sad.
So when he saw that auntie laughing at his mother, he grew anxious. He didn’t know how to express himself, but after thinking for a moment, he reached out and hugged his mother’s neck tightly.
"Xixi loves Mother," he said softly.
Liu Hua was both amused and touched by his concern. Even without words, she could feel how worried he was for her.
She hugged him back, lifted him into her arms, and planted a loud kiss on his chubby cheek before saying, "Mother’s good Xixi is so smart! Mother loves Xixi too!"
Xiao Xi held her face in his tiny hands and said seriously, "Mother, no cry."
"Okay, no crying," Liu Hua replied with a smile.
As the mother and son comforted each other, Xiao Li returned home and happened to see the scene. He walked over and said, "Wife, I’m back."
Hearing his father’s voice, Xiao Xi turned around, pouted, and said, "Bad Father."
Then, he buried his head against his mother’s shoulder, refusing to look at him.
Xiao Li was taken aback by his son’s sudden accusation. He looked at his wife and asked, "Wife, what’s wrong with Xixi?"
Liu Hua smiled and said, "He is in a bad mood because of Fei Zhu’s nonsense."
Xiao Li frowned and asked, "What did that woman say this time?"
