Chapter 836: My Turn

Chapter 836

BOOOOM—!

It was too late to even move talk more of dodging as Thalos collided with the fifty lightning projectiles heading Orion’s way earlier.

A cacophony of an explosion rocked the whole area they stood as some of the projectiles dug through his body while some just bounced off lightly like it was nothing.

Twisting his body sharply, the gargoyle landed on the ground smoothly with a stream of pinkish blood dropping down his body.

Before he managed to settle himself, Orion was already directly before him with a sweeping kick aimed at his jaw.

With uncanny speed, Thalos lifted his hands before his face in time to absorb the impact of the kick which caused a wide chasm to appear beneath his feet.

A blast of wind shot out with crushing force pushing debris aside from the land of the kick.

The gargoyle grinned at Orion who remained expressionless.

"You need to hit harder than this, Orion."

Using the gargoyle’s guard as a foot hall, Orion vaulted backwards just in time for twenty lightning arrows to descend upon where he stood a moment ago rupturing the terrain in an instant.

Dust and debris were kicked up instantly as Orion landed five metres away from the gargoyle.

Bang—!

Like a bat out of hell, Thalos shot forward from where he stood a while ago.

Holding his hand in the air, his great sword shot into his grip just in time as he appeared before Orion in the blink of an eye.

The sword was swung diagonally at the man who calmly tilted his head to the side letting the whole weapon streak past him.

With the speed of light, Thalos immediately flipped the weapon then grabbed it by the guard with the tip pointed downwards then in a shocking show of speed, he thrust the great sword sideways.

Orion was caught off guard by that.

He quickly lifted an arm coated in ki to to deflect the strike to the side.

A clanging sound was heard as the sword caused a surface level scratch on the man’s arm.

Crackle—! 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

’Too fast....’

A lightning infused punch from Fenrir slammed into Orion’s back with the force of a mountain charged with electricity.

Thalos leaped back.

Orion lurched forward with arcs of pain ravaging through his body as he gnashed his teeth in immense pain.

Thalos moved again; crossing the distance and appearing before the man in a jiffy, his sword swept from below towards his jaw.

Orion dug his toes into the ground with all his might then leaned his whole body backwards letting the great sword rush past him.

A simultaneous kick from Thalos sent Orion’s body flying away with blistering speed.

Not letting up, the gargoyle darted forward. His speed incredibly fast as it even looked like he was practically flying through the air like an arrow let loose from a bow.

One of his hands was stretched backwards holding his great sword while the other cut through the air with precise efficiency.

Appearing before Orion’s body, his great sword descended with astonishing speed.

With a grit of his teeth, the man swiftly clenched his hands in the air as if gripping something and then with a pull of his hands, he twisted his whole form sharply to the side.

Thalos’ sword smashed into the ground with obliterating force. Debris shot into the air clouding his view followed by a shockwave that blasted for metres on.

".... From the north to the south; from the heavens and the earth, I call upon the breath of the gods..." Fenrir chanted silently as he pulled out a parchment.

It lit up and then with a hurl of his hand, he shouted,

"Wind gale!"

A powerful gale of wind roared out smashing Orion right into the ground with devastating force causing a five metres wide chasm to appear in an instant.

Spit dribbled down his mouth for a moment as the man stared at the skies in confusion.

’Ah... magic circles and parchment. Now I know why I hated Fenrir. With adequate prep time, he is always a menace.’

Before the whole tournament, Fenrir had actually visited Grey and in the process, he got the Supreme Magus to help him create some magic parchments which would require the specific wordings and mana input to activate.

Pouring almost all his affinities; fire, wind and even earth.

Grey got Fenrir quite the number of magic parchments.

It didn’t matter whether he was a one element mage or not; these parchments would put him slightly below the level of multi-elementalist.

Of course, these parchments were limited in quantity due to the fact that they drained the creator of tremendous amounts of mana.

With how little time they had, Grey was unable to create much.

Hence Fenrir had to alternate between his own normal magic and these parchments.

Panting slightly as he stared into the chasm where Orion’s body lay, lightning crackled around his hands as he was ready to dash forward.

Before he could even think of taking a step forward, Orion moved blisteringly fast.

How he did this, it was unsure as he crossed the distance within a heartbeat. Visual ki wrapped around his hands in a crushing wave rapidly approaching Fenrir’s head like a spinning drill of water.

It was obvious. This was a killing blow.

But before it landed, Fenrir felt the back of his cloak grabbed and he was roughly yanked backwards only to see Thalos in his position.

Sword lifted up to absorb the impact of the strike.

BAM—!

BOOOOM—!

The ground splintered under Thalos’ feet as dust and debris billowed into the air with intensity.

Yet, the gargoyle ground his teeth and remained grounded in his position through sheer will and determination.

"My turn." Thalos grinned.

Then with the speed of lightning, he pushed Orion’s fist from his sword causing the man to tumble backwards for a bit.

The gargoyle’s foot cut through the air and immediately landed on his chest with the force of a bullet train.

"Ack...."

Saliva mixed with blood spirtzed through the air as Orion’s body shattered the sound barrier and went flying into the distance.
