Magus Supremacy-Chapter 360: A Bad and A Familiar Dream!
Chapter 360: A Bad and A Familiar Dream!
Chapter 360
After the little confrontation between Grey and Finral, everybody quietly finished their meal—including Grey—and then they all went to sleep.
Initially, everyone had a room to themselves, but with the new addition to the family, Yami decided to make some improvements. He and Clarice shared a room, Vanessa and Millie were paired in another, Finral had his own, and Grey was given the last available room.
While settling into his bed, Grey was unable to shut his eyes. He kept staring up at the wooden ceiling, his mind racing with several thoughts.
’I wonder how my family in my continent is doing. Do I even have any friends? Wait a second, how did I even end up here—and how did I lose my memory?’ Grey wondered inwardly as his hand reached up to rub his bandaged head.
’I hate this suspense. Since I don’t have any answers to all my questions, I might as well just sleep it off.’ he sighed, and then forced himself to shut his eyes.
After about ten minutes of tossing and turning restlessly, he finally drifted off. His breathing slowed, and sleep embraced him at last.
Unbeknownst to him, the door creaked open a few minutes later, and two familiar figures stepped inside.
The first was Yami, followed closely by Clarice. They both stood at the doorway, watching the sleeping Grey in silence.
"Why didn’t you tell him?" Clarice asked in a hushed tone, a worried expression etched on her face.
"If I did, what difference would it make? He needs time to adjust—to get a hold of himself. I could see the pain he was in earlier... the chilling screams, the tears, the confusion. I’m no healer, but it’s obvious he needs to regain his memories on his own and not have them forced out of him," Yami whispered softly.
He kept his gaze fixed on Grey’s sleeping figure.
"He lost his memories, yes... but he’ll still subconsciously show his true nature through his actions and behavior.
And depending on what we see—whether he turns out to be a friend... or someone I might have to get rid of—we’ll act accordingly. But until then, let’s give the boy time to rest."
Clarice silently nodded as Yami slowly shut the door, and the two quietly returned to their room.
Meanwhile, deep in his slumber, Grey’s sleep was suddenly interrupted by strange and fragmented dreams—visions that made no sense. They came in pieces, like shards of a broken mirror jammed together haphazardly.
At first, he saw a massive clock hanging in an endless void, its hands ticking rhythmically.
Then—click—he snapped his tongue, and the clock froze.
The next moment, the hands began moving backward.
The world around him shifted.
Grey now stood in a ruined city. Destroyed buildings loomed all around. Blood pooled on the ground.
Dead bodies were scattered. His hands were crackling with intense lightning, the power so thick it felt suffocating. The sheer killing intent in the air made it hard to breathe.
Suddenly, the scene shifted again—this time to the sky, where ripples spread like a disrupted pond. Countless shadowy portals tore through the heavens.
And then... chaos.
Houses were razed.
Structures crumbled to dust.
The skies thundered and the world screamed.
Then the vision changed again. It was blurrier than before, but he saw someone standing a few meters ahead. The figure wore a mask... but slowly, they reached for it—removing it.
Grey, in the dream, gasped. He looked horrified.
And then—a long blade tore through his chest.
"Aahhh!" Grey screamed, bolting upright as his eyes snapped wide open. His chest rose and fell rapidly.
Cold sweat drenched his entire body. His breath came in short, ragged gasps, and his mouth was painfully dry. His pupils were dilated and his skin pale.
Bang!
The doors swung wide open and the entire family that had taken him in came rushing into the room with panic and worry written all over their faces.
All except one.
"Great. Another new drama in the early hours of the day," Finral yawned loudly as he casually strolled into the room, rubbing his eyes with an unbothered expression.
Clarice, however, rushed straight to Grey’s side, concern written all over her face. She immediately grabbed his shoulders, gently shaking him until his frantic gaze settled and he finally came back to his senses.
"What happened? Why did you scream like that?" she asked urgently, her heart pounding just as loudly as his had moments ago.
"I... I..." Grey stuttered, eyes darting around until they recognized his surroundings. The familiar walls of the room and the faces around him—the people who had taken him in—gradually helped ground him.
To his left, the small window allowed in a soft, beautiful glow, casting golden light over the bed. It was already morning.
"It’s morning already?" Grey muttered, his voice raspy as he reached up to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.
"Yes," Yami replied from behind, but his voice sounded strained. He clutched his stomach with a twisted expression.
"What’s wrong?" Grey asked, raising a curious brow.
"Need to use the bathroom!" Yami shouted, and then he bolted out of the room at blitzing speed like a man running for his life.
"...Is he always like this?" Grey turned to ask, genuinely baffled.
"Yup. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it... I think," Millie chuckled, clearly amused by her father’s signature morning routine.
Clarice returned her focus to Grey and asked softly, "Do you want to talk about what made you scream like that? Was it a nightmare? Something you remembered?"
Grey paused for a brief moment, but then slowly and gently moved her hands off his shoulders and stood up from the bed.
"I don’t want to talk about it," he said quietly, his tone a little colder now. "Rather, I want to take a bath."
He stood upright with a stretch, his body still recovering from the shock and sweat, while Finral clicked his tongue, hissed, and walked out of the room with a sharp glare in his eyes.
"Are you sure you don’t want to speak about it?" Clarice pressed again, calmly stepping toward him.
"Yeah, I’m good," Grey nodded, brushing her concern aside, then turned his attention to the girls. "Where’s the bathroom? I want to clean up."
"Let me take you there," Vanessa offered, her voice gentle and warm, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
Grey sighed as he walked toward her.
"Fine. Lead the way," he replied simply, and followed Vanessa out of the room, the door closing quietly behind them.
Meanwhile, Millie remained behind, her eyes still fixed on the door long after it closed.
"Mum, what happened to Brother Grey?" Millie asked, turning toward Clarice with a look of pure innocence and concern.
Clarice sighed, brushing her hand through Millie’s purple hair as she stared at the now-closed door.
"I really don’t know, Millie. And honestly... I hope it’s nothing," she said softly. "Maybe it was just a bad dream." freeweɓnovel~cѳm
She paused, then smiled down at her daughter and crouched to her level.
"Now, why don’t you come here and tell me why you attacked your big brother yesterday?" Clarice asked with a mischievous glint in her eye as she gently tugged Millie’s ear, causing her to yelp.
"Ow, ow, Mum! It’s not my fault!" Millie cried out in protest, wiggling away. "I couldn’t just sit and watch Big Brother attack Grey like that! He was being mean and scary and... and since you and Dad weren’t doing anything, I decided to act!"
She crossed her arms in defiance, but tears began to well up in her eyes as she continued, "Besides, why are you punishing only me? What about Vanessa? She joined in too!"
Clarice’s eyes widened slightly. "Hey, calm down, sweetheart," she said gently, letting go of Millie’s ear. "I’m not punishing you. I just wanted to understand why you acted out without telling me first.
You have to learn that even if your intentions are good, you need to talk to an adult before stepping in like that."
"But he was going to hurt Grey..." Millie sniffled.
Clarice smiled and wiped her cheek. "And you were brave for trying to protect someone, I get that. But as punishment, you’ll have to apologize to your brother, okay?"
"Yeah... sure," Millie grumbled, rubbing her sore ear and pouting.
"Good girl. Now come on, let’s get you ready, and then we’ll have breakfast," Clarice said, taking Millie’s hand in hers as they both headed out of the room.
What neither of them knew... was that the secret they were all trying to keep hidden was already beginning to unravel.
And before the day ended... that truth would bring danger—perhaps even death—right to Grey’s doorstep.
