Chapter 1429: Chapter 1042: Why Are You Making Me Watch This! (2)

"Sword Maiden, did you explain things clearly to them?" Ash suddenly said.

"Explain what?"

"Explain that you aren’t playing with my feelings." Ash said earnestly, "I just explained our dating process to them, and they unanimously agreed you were a heartless player toying with my emotions. Just look at how serious their expressions were, as if I was about to leap into the fire pit."

Sonia looked incredulously at her roommates, "You actually badmouthed me in front of him!?"

Lois and Ingrid immediately pointed at Adelle, and Adelle opened her mouth, stubbornly saying, "You also complained to him about how difficult we are!"

"Well, you are difficult to get along with!"

"Well, Ash is crazy about you!" Adelle shouted, "He just got angry because Iris badmouthed you and gave her a good telling-off!"

"Really?" Sonia looked at Ash doubtfully, "I have a feeling you tried to flirt with other girls while I wasn’t around..."

"Stereotype, definitely a stereotype!" Ash said righteously, "Who would have a crush on me just because I bullied a girl?"

Lois’s gaze was evasive, Ingrid stared at her toes, and Adelle’s mouth twitched constantly.

"But I didn’t act just because she badmouthed Sword Maiden," Ash said, "I wanted to conceal my identity in Jiale City... It was you all defending your friend’s honor that prompted me to act. Even if you were defending someone other than Sword Maiden, I wouldn’t just stand by."

"I’m glad I got to meet you all before Sword Maiden," he smiled slightly, "This way I know you are not just Sword Maiden’s trusted roommates, but friends I’m happy to date."

Adelle didn’t even need to look back to feel the suppressed emotions from the two behind her, realizing for the first time how complex an adult’s world really is. Sonia gave Ash a hard flick on the forehead, "You said you don’t flirt with girls? Where did you learn these smooth lines?"

"This is how I normally talk with Igula and Harvey!"

Sonia was shocked, "So they are female!?"

After laughing and teasing around, Ash opened the room door, and Sonia turned back to look at her roommates, eyes turning red despite herself, "Goodbye."

Though Ash was right outside, the worrying emotions prevailed and Adelle couldn’t resist advising Sonia once again. It wasn’t about Sonia obeying Dazzling Star; entrusting her fate to Supreme Star was unwise. Rather, they asked if Sonia had truly made up her mind.

From the descriptions on the suspect list, it was clear Sonia was just an accessory and Ash was the real target of Supreme Star’s intense hatred.

While they revised their impressions of Ash, his history still indicated he wasn’t the kind to settle down quietly with Sonia; he lived like a lightning bolt in the night, poised to either pierce the sky or be consumed by darkness. Even Sonia couldn’t deny this.

With Sonia’s abilities, even if wanted by Supreme Star, she could still live freely on her own. She had countless choices; did she really have to choose Ash Heath?

"He was never just a backup option."

Sonia nibbled on her milk tea straw, casually replied, but the listeners understood that this Village Girl had made the kind of decision that any noble young lady fantasizes about.

"Goodbye." Lois waved, sniffing softly, "We’ll miss you."

Recalling the message he read at the Gate of Hell, Ash said softly, "The days of not meeting will be counted by years."

Adelle couldn’t hold back anymore, wiping her eyes and starting to cry quietly.

Sonia thumped Ash’s shoulder, saying, "That’s not true; you need to accompany me to Jiale City more often. Maybe we’ll even buy a house here later—if we don’t live here, I still want a villa in Jiale City. It’s my childhood dream!"

"Why not a big villa?"

"Because big villas seem haunted..."

Ash couldn’t help but burst into laughter, Sonia puffing her cheeks and pouting, "It’s normal for a young girl to be afraid of ghosts!"

"Anyway, I’ll come back often, but..." Sonia blinked, "My student life should be over."

As the atmosphere seemed to turn sentimental again, Ash said, "Goodbye, Adelle, next time it’s your turn to treat us."

"Goodbye, Lois, next time I want to buy one of your chamber’s War Dress."

"Goodbye, Ingrid, I’m looking forward to your next swordsmanship demonstration."

Ash beckoned Sonia to leave, Sword Maiden finally waving to her roommates before quickly catching up to the Cult Leader in front, muttering, "How come you’re better at saying goodbye than me; it’s like you’re the one bidding farewell."

"Consider this for yourself... why haven’t you finished drinking?"

"It’ll be a long time before I get another, so I’m savoring it."

As they disappeared into the stairwell, Lois closed the dorm room door, the three silently exchanged glances, strangely feeling a sense of melancholy. Adelle wiped her tears, sighed, "I feel like I just finished watching a high-rated good drama, this drama’s name is... ’Sword Maiden Manual’?"

"The second part is already in the works." Lois said softly, "But we can’t watch it up close anymore."

Ingrid silently opened the balcony door, the other two immediately followed her out. They watched Ash and Sonia walk side by side out of the girls’ dormitory building, Ash looking at the Light Screen as he walked, seemingly still reading ’Stored Week’s Fault Blade.’ Sonia cradled her milk tea, sipping it slowly.

Suddenly, Sonia poked Ash, gesturing for him to take a sip of the milk tea. Ash kept his gaze on the Light Screen and leaned forward, but Sonia pulled the milk tea back, refusing to let his lips touch the straw. Ash leaned in more, almost tripping, looking up to see Sonia running off, a wicked grin on her face. He was both amused and annoyed, chasing and catching Sonia for a kiss, only then did Sword Maiden let him have a sip of the milk tea.

"What did I do wrong to deserve seeing this!" Adelle clutched her head, her body writhing like a worm, "No matter how much I cry or suffer in life, I won’t feel sad, but seeing them flaunt like this hurts my heart as if sliced by a knife! I want a sweet love too; plain will do if there’s no sweet option!"

Lois looked at her speechlessly, "Don’t you have a fiancé?"

Adelle paused, touching her head, "Oh yeah." Then she turned back to the dorm to contact her boyfriend, muttering as she walked, "Lesson learned, lesson learned. I’ll try this on tonight’s date, but will drinking two milk teas a day make me fat..."

Only two remained on the balcony; even after Sonia and Ash disappeared from view, they continued to feel the cold wind.

"Tonight, Adelle has a date," Ingrid suddenly said, "Do you want to go to the Secret Garden for a drink?"

Lois hesitated, then smiled, "Alright."
