Mage Legend-Chapter 846 - 62: Steps_2
He finally smiled and said, "Friends, does this promise satisfy you?"
Everyone remained silent, each with their own calculations in mind. Everyone hoped someone else would speak up to demand more from the Mage. However, after weighing the pros and cons, no one spoke.
As a result, in this final battle against the Snake-men, the Mage's name was not prominently featured. He merely became an "advantageous supplement" to the entire plan. The efforts of the Mage Association were not sung widely by the bards like the deeds of other heroes. People only knew that the Mage stood on the side of justice, not as an accomplice of evil.
The generals laid a giant trap, using almost a quarter of Haisas's territory as bait, preparing to entrap and destroy the Snake-men's army. Wislin privately discussed with Lynch that there were too many vulnerabilities in this "spectacular" multi-racial combat plan, some of which were even fatal.
"The generals of Haisas and Ian think too simplistically; they haven't considered the differences between the various races in actual combat!" Wislin, alongside his fiancée Anna, dressed in civilian clothing, appeared at the residence of Lynch, the All-Knowing Tower. Unless the knight intended to express his complaints officially, with a large group of guards and spread his grievances quickly, visiting as a friend was the only option.
"This battle plan can be considered a political victory, but militarily, it could potentially fail." Wislin continued, "It's not that we can't ultimately defeat the Snake-men, but the losses from the war might exceed anyone's expectations!"
Anna gently patted Wislin's chest, calming him down slowly. Then she said to Lynch, "Wislin is still too easily agitated. Do you have any smart and calm students in your Mage Association? He really needs a good counselor." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"I'll keep an eye out," Lynch smiled and said, "Ten years ago, when we adventured together, you had this temperament. Now, even the hot-tempered Elf Anna has learned to be gentle, yet you remain unchanged."
"This has always been my temperament," Anna retorted. But now she was simply immersed in happiness, not truly taking issue with anything Wislin did.
"Lynch, let's get back on track. I'm curious, why didn't you point out the vulnerabilities in that meeting?" Wislin sighed and said, "Even if everyone couldn't see them, you wouldn't be fooled!"
"Oh, I actually noticed them. In fact, every commander present, except those who are exceedingly foolish, saw the flaws in the plan," Lynch said. "Some people thought they could use this plan to weaken other nations, which is selfishness at work."
"I signaled the Elf Clan not to make a fuss. However, Dwarf Morgan genuinely didn't see it; he just wanted a battle," Lynch laughed lightly, which gradually eased Wislin's mind.
"So, you must have a corresponding solution?" The knight helped his fiancée sit down first, then sat beside the Mage and said, "Why am I always the last to know?"
"Because I believe you are the least likely to make mistakes," Lynch thought for a moment and said, "Actually, you came here today not to remind me of the risks of failure, but to find out what solutions I have, especially since your 'why am I always the last to know' already exposed your thoughts."
Wislin widened his eyes, glanced at Lynch, and then turned to ask Anna, "Is it that obvious?"
Anna covered her belly, giggled, and nodded vigorously.
"Then let me satisfy your curiosity," Lynch said. "If the Snake-men army wants to find and use these armies, then their scouts are the most important. Due to my influence, the Great Serpent can no longer perceive the entire world; its only eyes are its aerial cavalry."
Lynch's palm gently swept through the air, and a magical representation of the entire Anriel Continent appeared before the three of them. The Mage pointed to a few locations on the map and said, "The Mage Association has already dispatched personnel—most of them are squads that cooperated in the last raid—deployed at these locations, using various Illusion Techniques and disguises to deceive the Great Serpent's eyes."
