After half a month of arduous journey, the people from the two major factions finally arrived at the largest commercial city in Haisas—Platinum City.

The intact city walls, thriving commerce, and people living in happiness and peace seemed unaffected by the war thousands of kilometers away in the north. Apart from some merchants complaining about the skyrocketing prices of horses and grain, which made trade nearly impossible, this place was still an isolated paradise.

Until the arrival of the All-Knowing Tower.

When the colossal Flying City cast its majestic shadow over the commercial capital, even the huge golden balance statue in the city center paled in comparison. Unlike those of high status with their sources of information, ordinary citizens had not known about this beforehand. They hid in their homes, secretly observing this uninvited guest through the cracks in their windows.

It wasn't until they saw that the wealthy merchants hadn't left the city, and the shops and markets were still open, that the residents began to come out one by one, guessing and discussing the origin of the Flying Fortress.

"This city is way too relaxed," Dwarf Morgan stood on the All-Knowing Tower, peering down. He clutched the railings and handguard beside him tightly, afraid of suddenly getting dizzy and falling from the sky. "These merchants are like this, enjoying self-delusion. They'll only understand panic and fear when the Snake-man army stands beneath their city."

"But aren't our warriors fighting fiercely so they can live like this?" Wislin's mount, a huge pure white six-legged bear, always followed closely behind him, resembling a dutiful bodyguard. The Knight rarely donned a brand new shiny suit of armor today, as soon they would be representing themselves to meet with the Governor here, also the richest local merchant: Ista. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

The Flying Fortress hovered slowly next to the City Lord's Garden, where a retractable staircase temporarily built by Dwarves led from the All-Knowing Tower's platform to the ground. First, both sides' messengers exchanged documents, completing a heap of tedious and cumbersome formalities, allowing Wislin and Morgan to finally officially descend those long steps.

"Welcome, welcome! Guests from the north. Your fame has long been widely spread across the continent." Ista, leading the members of the Merchants' Union, lined the way to welcome the guests descending from the All-Knowing Tower. "Truly, seeing is believing! Come, my heroes, please honor us by entering Haisas's Platinum City."

"Just tell me when the banquet can start." Morgan mumbled softly, hiding behind Wislin while tugging his Chain Armor to make it fit his body better.

With Macken the Knight's support, Pastan represented the entire Pate Temple in accepting Haisas's welcome. In a fervent and leisurely atmosphere that was completely out of tune with the war's sense, the All-Knowing Tower temporarily settled down here.

Those displaced from their homes gradually moved out of the All-Knowing Tower and were settled in a designated area beside the Platinum City. Meanwhile, Dwarves went to purchase large amounts of raw materials in the market, and the armory resumed operations. Only those who had been through the baptism of war understood how precious every minute and second was; the life of indulgence and luxury in Platinum City would not affect them—yet there were still a few exceptions.

Lynch was one of them. He naturally received an invitation, but before his memories returned, he felt there was no point in attending those meetings. Besides, the matters on the All-Knowing Tower didn't require his concern too much, as Yilinrui and Norton could manage everything. Thus, he wandered around this Platinum City with Zilvra.

"Zilvra, did you notice that on our way here with the All-Knowing Tower, there wasn't a single refugee?" Lynch used a long staff to help himself walk—not because there was anything wrong with his legs, but because the Dark Elf required him to glean some past habits. The Mage said, "What kind of destruction did that great serpent cause? It seems only the Pate region in the north is noticeably affected, while other areas seem quite calm."

"That's because, in the areas occupied by the great serpent, all the residents mysteriously disappear. At first, we thought they were being captured as slaves, like the Dark Elves. But later, we discovered it was far from the case." Zilvra found a beautifully crafted wooden necklace and quickly slipped it into her pouch while the shopkeeper wasn't paying attention.
