Mage Legend-Chapter 805 - 52: Draw (Part 2)
"You need to obtain my body and the power within it to return to the Anriel Continent. As far as I know, the Great Arcanists have completely imprisoned your body in the past. Although your divinity still exists, once you return to the mortal realm, you will be imprisoned in your own body, thereby completely losing your freedom."
The Magic God nodded, gently stroking his eyebrows with his index and middle fingers. "Lynch, that's indeed the case. Unless the magic level of the Anriel World declines to an utterly pitiful state, or there is a powerful body, one that can bear power exceeding that of the Great Arcanists of the past, my return to Anriel would be suicidal. But now the key issue is, what kind of benefit do you want in exchange for the control of your body?"
"Exchange? That's impossible, don't try to deceive me with such words." Lynch shook his head. "The so-called exchange is essentially you devouring me, with my soul replacing your current position, forever drifting in a void space. Why would I give up my current life to let you, old man, replace me?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
The Magic God wasn't angry but spoke earnestly, "Abandoning life is indeed very painful, but there are definitely things in this world worth exchanging your life for. Tell me, what is something you've always wanted to achieve but never had the chance to do; whether it is knowledge, power, or wealth, I can fulfill it."
Lynch couldn't help but want to laugh, but he was worried that this "entirely unproductive" conversation was the Magic God's tactic to confuse him, lowering his vigilance.
"Even if the Great Serpent hadn't thrown me here, I would have created a battlefield myself to face you—the Magic God." Lynch smiled, like a swordsman confidently facing the most significant duel of his life. "From the magic scrolls you left behind, I gained power beyond ordinary people, so in that sense, you are my teacher. If you could return to the mortal realm in your current form, I would gladly walk with you. But it seems now, since the power of the Magic Origin has bound us together, either we both leave here, or only the victor gets the pass. In truth, you also know this battle is inevitable."
The Magic God nodded and then said, "Originally, I intended to wait for time to pass, letting the relentless years take all magic away from the Anriel World, to then return to my throne. Not for a single second did I ever truly believe someone could recreate the brilliance of the Great Arcanists. You are a mage, and the power within you is like the ocean, vast, magnificent, and surging; at the same time, you have never bowed to any force, so the power within you is also very pure. Truly a crystal-clear statue of crystal!"
Lynch showed a smile, seemingly in response to the Magic God's praise, yet in his eyes, there wasn't a hint of amusement. He understood his strengths and weaknesses. In terms of magic power, the just-revived Magic God most likely couldn't surpass him, and he himself had better stamina and thorough preparations. However, the Magic God's power was more ancient, and the knowledge he held in mind could at any time transform into the power to make him win. Lynch had to act swiftly.
One second the mage was smiling, the next he wore a concentrated expression as he chanted a spell. With a sudden wave of his hand, the earth beneath the Magic God cracked open, the intense tremors upheaving the entire crust and throwing everything buried beneath the soil into the air. The old man couldn't stand steady, falling backward into the thick dust cloud.
Lynch didn't halt, instead converting the spell into pure magic energy. A silver-white spear formed at his call, carrying the power of lightning and flame, thunderously shooting towards where the Magic God fell. The fierce air currents blew the mage's robe backward, pressing tightly against him in the gale. Debris rained down on him like a storm, but a faint white glow deflected everything. Lynch stood like an immovable rock in the face of crashing waves, enduring all the assaults alone.
Having just seized the initiative, Lynch immediately began summoning other beings for help. The forces from Abyss Hell, which even many gods could not resist. The mage loudly called out the names of the Hell Lords, compelling them to manifest immediately and fight on his behalf.
