She told Arthur to wait somewhere as she texted Iris about Sebastian and Lucien’s whereabouts. After she got the answer, she used the elevator and went up to the seventh floor where the meeting was held.

"Winter! Oh, god! You’re actually here!" Iris exclaimed in relief, but soon asked with a concerned expression, "Is it really okay for you to show up now? I’m afraid it will only add fuel to the fire between them. Sebastian and Lucien had been arguing nonstop inside the meeting room. It seems that Mr. LeBlanc is intentionally nitpicking everything."

Sebastian separated Lucien’s hand from his wife’s and acted as a barrier between them, "I will send the development plan to your secretary, Mr. LeBlanc. You can revise it however you want. I think we are done with our meeting today."

Lucien snorted.

He ignored Sebastian and tilted his head to look at Winter who stood still with her usual aloof expression, "Can you believe what he said just now? I still want this meeting to go on because there are a lot of revisions, but he is trying to end it quickly. It’s very unprofessional."

"Then, we should continue the meeting," Winter thoughtfully said.

"No, Winter, I’ve already explained everything to him. He’s just nitpicking," Sebastian reported.

"Then let’s hear the plan once more. I’m going to stay. I want to know which one doesn’t suit Mr. LeBlanc’s preference," Winter insisted, and thus the meeting was resumed.

Winter sat next to Sebastian, and Lucien sat directly facing them.

Sebastian explained the development plan once again, and Lucien didn’t nitpick this time. Instead, his eyes were glued on Winter the whole time, as if he had been fully smitten by her.

Sebastian explained faster and once he was done, he asked, "Is there anything not to your liking, Mr. LeBlanc?"

"Yes, I wonder if the woman next to you knows that you have jailed your own mother," Lucien responded calmly. "It’s my first time hearing a man reporting his own mother. It makes me wonder if he will also do the same to his wife once he doesn’t like her anymore."

"Calm down, Seb," Winter interrupted before Sebastian exploded. She stared at Lucien with a nonchalant gaze and said, "To answer your question, yes, I know about it. In fact, I am the one who told Sebastian to jail her mother if he wants to have a chance with me."

Lucien paused for a moment as he tried to process what he just heard, "You... Winter, you don’t need to cover up for his crime."

"I’m not covering up anything. I hate my mother-in-law more than anything in this world, and I think she deserves to rot in jail," Winter added. "I’m a very selfish woman, I don’t like my husband to share his affection with someone else, even his mother. So, if you think that you have a shot with me, will you sacrifice someone closest to you, either your mother or someone else so you have your undivided attention only for me, Lucien?"

Lucien’s jaw dropped. He stared at Winter in silence, hoping that Winter would suddenly break out of character and say that she was just joking.

But she looked dead serious, and he was actually spooked by her cold expression.

He really liked Winter because she was a total beauty, and she also had that sweet and mature character befitting of a good and educated woman. She was honestly a perfect fit for Lucien.

But he would never sacrifice someone else, especially his other family members for a crazy woman.

Winter scoffed, "Thought so. If you have nothing to talk about, why don’t we focus on our business. I’m sure that the development plan my husband has is perfect in any way."
