Madam, Please Behave-Chapter 221: Amusement Park
October 5th.
The weather was still bright and sunny.
The seven-day national holiday was coming to an end, with only two days left before school resumed.
Liu Zhiyue lay sprawled on the sofa, looking as if his soul had been sucked out of him.
Ever since his father made that decision, he had been living in what felt like hell, even beginning to question his sister’s intelligence.
She looked so clever and lively—so how in the world was she still messing up basic multiplication from second and third grade?
That didn’t make sense!
My sister can’t possibly be this dumb!
The living room was a little stuffy, so Liu Zhiyue had brought out the electric fan from his room and placed it beside the coffee table.
The fan’s head slowly oscillated, occasionally brushing over their faces.
Exhaling deeply, Liu Zhiyue turned his head to look at his sister, who wore a troubled expression while muttering nonstop.
"One times one is one, one times two is two, one times three is three, one times four is four, one times five is five, one times six is six, one times seven is seven, one times eight is eight, one times nine is nine…"
This was the new study plan Liu Zhiyue had set up for her.
His sister, Liu Xiazhi, was naturally weak in math, and after some time tutoring her, he finally pinpointed the root of the problem.
She… didn’t know the multiplication table.
When he reported this discovery to their father, Liu Changqing had been just as incredulous.
Until he personally tested her.
"3 × 7 = 23."
That was the answer she confidently blurted out.
Liu Zhiyue and his father were completely stunned on the spot!
And so, here they were now.
Minute by minute, time passed.
Aside from the hum of the electric fan, the only sound in the room was Liu Xiazhi’s muttering, growing softer and softer.
Her fingers had almost run out as she counted along.
"Five times five is twenty-five, five times six is thirty, five times seven is thirty-five, five times eight is forty, five times nine is forty-five, six times six is thirty-six, six times seven is…"
Her voice trailed off.
Her fingers slowed down as she tried to peek at her brother, who was still slumped on the sofa, looking dead inside.
In her head, she thought:
"Six times seven is… six times seven is… wait, what was it again?"
"Six times seven is—um… six times seven is 'chicken croak'… six times eight is forty…"
"Hold on."
Liu Zhiyue suddenly spoke.
Liu Xiazhi flinched violently.
Her expression turned panicked.
Liu Zhiyue slowly sat up from his slouched position on the sofa, his sharp gaze locking onto her as if seeing through her very soul.
"What did you just say? Six times seven is what?"
"Six times seven is…"
Muttering, she dared not look at her brother.
Her small hand clutched a pen tightly, and her neck felt like it had lost all sensation.
"Six times seven is—"
"Click."
The sound of a key turning in the door grabbed their attention.
Liu Zhiyue turned toward the entrance.
Beside him, Liu Xiazhi let out a long, relieved sigh.
She clutched her chest, feeling like she had just narrowly escaped disaster.
"It’s so hot outside—my arms got sunburned."
Liu Changqing’s voice rang out first as he entered.
Then came An Yuanyao’s.
"I told you to put on sunscreen before going out…"
"Why would I use that stuff? Isn’t that for women?"
"It’s not just for women…"
Having returned from their outing, Liu Changqing and An Yuanyao changed into indoor slippers before heading toward the sofa.
Liu Changqing placed the shopping bags beside the coffee table, then grabbed the fan and directed it straight at his face for a while.
Only then did he feel alive again.
An Yuanyao also walked over, carefully removing her wide-brimmed sun hat.
The hat was elegantly crafted, its broad sides adding a touch of refinement—especially when paired with the flowing white dress she wore today.
She looked graceful and serene.
Liu Xiazhi instantly fell in love with the hat.

She quickly jumped off the sofa and ran up to her, tilting her head as she gazed up at her while she adjusted her hair.
She was sure of it—her father hadn’t bought that hat when they left the house.
"Is that a new hat?"
"Hm?"
An Yuanyao blinked, glancing at the hat in her hand before instinctively looking toward Liu Changqing, who was still cooling off with the fan.
Smiling, she nodded.
"Your dad bought it for me."
"Ah!"
Liu Xiazhi’s mouth fell open in surprise.
She stood frozen for a moment before quickly spinning around and running toward her father.
Grabbing his shirt, she tugged at it.
"You didn’t buy one for me? I want a pretty hat too!"
"I did—I put it in the bag."
At his words, Liu Xiazhi’s eyes lit up.
She immediately let go of his shirt and dashed toward the shopping bags.
Sure enough, she soon found a hat perfectly sized for her.
Overjoyed, she ran into the bathroom, eagerly admiring herself in the mirror.
She had always been very confident in her own beauty.
After cooling off for a while, Liu Changqing finally felt recovered from the heat.
He walked over to the shopping bags his daughter had just rummaged through and pulled out a pair of swim trunks.
Then, he tossed a small portable fan toward Liu Zhiyue, who had been silently sitting on the sofa.
Catching it, Liu Zhiyue examined the items his father had just thrown at him, momentarily confused.
"I was thinking… school starts in two days, and I’ve been busy lately, so I haven’t had much time to take you two out. Since I had some free time today, I went ahead and bought tickets to the amusement park. Let’s go have some fun."
"Amusement park?"
Liu Zhiyue was taken aback.
That was a term he hadn’t heard in a long time.
The last time he went to an amusement park was when he was in elementary school.
But back then, he spent most of the time searching for his father, who had mysteriously disappeared.
Looking at the swim trunks, he hesitated before asking,
"Why do we need swim trunks for an amusement park?"
"You’re so out of the loop. The new amusement park in our city is massive. There are multiple zones, including a water park."
"That impressive?"
"Your Aunt An was the one who told me about it. I never really paid attention to these things. If she hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have even known the place existed."
Just as Liu Changqing finished speaking, Liu Xiazhi came running out of the bathroom, still wearing her new hat.
"Where’s my swimsuit?"
"I bought that too."
He pulled her swimsuit out of the shopping bag and handed it to her.
Liu Changqing sighed slightly.
Watching his daughter happily hug her new swimsuit, he recalled the price difference between men's swim trunks and women's swimsuits.
They were both for swimming…
So why was the price difference so big?
As he pondered this, his gaze fell on the swimsuit he had bought for An Yuanyao.
For a moment, he dazed out.
His mind drifted back to when she had tried on swimsuits at the store earlier…
