Chapter 406: Chapter 406 Three Bodies And A Head

The vampire didn’t retreat this time. He ran toward the beast, both moving fast, both refusing to yield. Their clash shook the air. The vampire dodged one claw swipe, then another, then countered with a burst of punches to the werewolf’s jaw.

The creature snarled, more annoyed than hurt.

It swung low.

The vampire jumped.

But the werewolf anticipated it.

Midair, the vampire realized the mistake too late.

The werewolf grabbed him by the leg and slammed him into the ground hard enough to crack the floor. The vampire gasped, air forced out of his lungs. He tried to roll away, but the werewolf stomped down, and its claws punched deep into the concrete where his head had been.

The vampire rolled to his feet and rushed forward again. Desperation sharpened his movements. He clawed at the werewolf’s chest, ripping fur and skin. Blood spilled, but the creature barely flinched. The wound began healing almost instantly.

The vampire snarled, showing frustration for the first time.

The werewolf responded with a brutal backhand that sent the vampire flying into a row of crates. Wood exploded around him.

He got up again, slower this time.

The werewolf approached in heavy steps. No rush. No fear. Just cold confidence.

The vampire breathed hard. He steadied himself, then attacked again with everything he had left. He struck fast, precise, sharp. He hit the werewolf’s jaw, throat, ribs, stomach. He moved like a storm of fists and claws.

The werewolf took the hits.

Then it caught him by the throat.

The vampire’s eyes widened.

The beast lifted him off the ground with one arm. The vampire clawed at the werewolf’s wrist, but the grip didn’t loosen. The werewolf slammed him into a wall so hard cracks spread out behind the vampire’s back.

Then it did it again.

And again.

The vampire went limp for a second before forcing himself to stay conscious.

He kicked the werewolf in the face. Once. Twice. The werewolf let go, more annoyed than hurt.

The vampire dropped to one knee.

He tried to stand.

He didn’t get the chance.

The werewolf lunged forward and bit into the vampire’s shoulder. Teeth tore through flesh and muscle. The vampire screamed. He punched the werewolf repeatedly, but the creature didn’t let go until it ripped a huge chunk of flesh free.

Blood sprayed across the floor.

The vampire staggered, holding the wound, shaking badly now.

The werewolf approached again.

The vampire tried to run. His speed was still impressive, but nowhere near what it was at the start. Blood loss slowed him. Pain slowed him. Panic slowed him.

The werewolf caught him.

It slammed him face-first into the ground. The vampire flipped onto his back, claws out, teeth bared.

The werewolf pinned his arm with one massive claw.

Then the other.

The vampire was trapped.

The werewolf leaned in, growling deep in its chest.

The vampire hissed, trying to lift his head and bite back.

The werewolf grabbed his jaw, forced it open, and tore half his face off.

Blood exploded across the floor.

The vampire screamed. It wasn’t a sound of fear. It was raw agony. His hands trembled as he tried to claw at the air.

The werewolf didn’t stop.

It dug its claws into the vampire’s torso, tore upward, and split him open. Ribs cracked. Flesh ripped. Blood poured out in thick streams.

The vampire’s body twitched for a moment.

The werewolf reached into the open cavity and crushed the heart in its fist.

The twitching stopped.

Blood ran between the werewolf’s fingers.

The beast dropped what was left of the heart, stepped back, and stared at the corpse to make sure it was truly dead.

Then it lifted its head and let out a long, deep howl that echoed across the ruined space.

Two more vampires stepped out from the shadows the moment the werewolf finished tearing apart their fallen comrade. Their eyes widened at the sight in front of them. A head on the floor. A body ripped open like rotten cloth. Blood everywhere. The werewolf breathing heavy, chest rising and falling, claws soaked red.

Both vampires froze only for a heartbeat.

That was long enough for rage to take over.

They didn’t speak. They didn’t hiss. They didn’t posture.

They simply attacked.

One sprinted straight at the werewolf, moving so fast the air cracked around him. The other blurred to the side, circling for a flank. The werewolf barely had time to lift its arms before the first vampire slammed into him.

BANG!

The impact threw the werewolf back several meters. Its paws scraped across the floor, claws digging in to stop the slide. The second vampire appeared behind it, almost weightless, and raked long claws across the wolf’s spine.

SLASH!

Fur and flesh flew. The werewolf snarled and spun, swinging one massive arm, but the vampire ducked under it and countered with a sharp elbow to the ribcage.

CRACK!

The werewolf staggered. The first vampire darted in again, punching hard into its jaw.

CLAP!

The wolf’s head jerked to the side. It shook off the blow and lunged, jaws wide, trying to bite through one of their throats, but the vampire vanished in a blur and appeared behind it again. The second jumped onto the wolf’s back and dug its claws deep into its shoulders.

The werewolf roared as blood spilled down its chest.

The first vampire reached in from the front and grabbed the wolf by the throat. Together they pushed. The creature’s feet dug trenches through the floor as it struggled against their combined strength. Two vampires working in perfect sync was a terrifying thing.

The wolf slammed one elbow back.

THUD!

The vampire on its back grunted but held tight.

The first vampire tightened its grip around the werewolf’s throat and lifted the creature slightly off the ground. The wolf kicked violently, claws carving lines in the floor.

The second vampire raked its claws down the wolf’s spine again.

SLASH! SLASH!

Blood splattered in streaks across the room.

The werewolf lowered its head and slammed it backward.

BANG!

The vampire on its back lost grip and fell off. The wolf dropped to all fours and lunged forward, bulldozing the vampire holding his throat. It rammed the vampire straight into a stone pillar.

CRUNCH!

The pillar cracked from the force. Dust rained down. The vampire barely flinched, grabbed the wolf by the fur, and kneed it in the stomach.

The werewolf gasped as the air shot out of its lungs.

The second vampire darted in again, claws glinting. It swung low, cutting straight through the wolf’s thigh.

SLASH!

The werewolf faltered for a moment, its leg nearly giving out. It growled, grabbed the first vampire by the arm, and hurled him across the room.

WHAM!

He crashed into a steel crate, leaving a deep dent.

The second vampire jumped onto the wolf again, but this time the werewolf was ready. It twisted sharply, grabbed the vampire by the waist, and slammed him into the floor.

BOOM!

The ground shook.

The vampire hissed and slashed upward. Claws raked across the wolf’s face, leaving long cuts that bled instantly.

The werewolf roared and slammed the vampire again.

BOOM!

The vampire’s skull cracked the floor but he still kept fighting. The other vampire reappeared behind the wolf, moving so fast he practically teleported, and kicked the werewolf’s knee inward.

CRACK!

The joint bent the wrong way for a second. The werewolf stumbled and fell to one knee. That second vampire followed up with a punch straight into the wolf’s jaw.

CLAP!

The werewolf’s head jerked back.

The first vampire crawled out of the debris of the crate and rushed in, grabbing the wolf from behind, pinning its arms back.

The second struck the wolf repeatedly in the ribs.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

Each hit shook the wolf’s entire body. The ribcage buckled under the blows. Blood dripped from the wolf’s mouth as it tried to pull free but couldn’t break the hold.

One vampire alone was difficult. Two working together were lethal.

The second vampire grabbed the wolf by the throat again and squeezed.

The werewolf’s vision blurred. Its legs quivered. Blood dripped from its wounds in long, heavy streams. It could feel its strength slipping.

The vampires knew it too.

The one behind him whispered, "Break it."

The vampire in front tightened his grip.

The werewolf’s breath came out in ragged growls. Its body trembled. Its arms twitched. For a moment it looked like it was going down for good.

Then something inside it snapped.

Not a bone.

A decision.

The werewolf lowered its body and pushed every ounce of strength it had left into one motion. It threw its head forward and bit straight into the throat of the vampire in front.

CHOMP!

Blood exploded out in a violent spray.

The vampire screamed as teeth crushed deep into flesh. The werewolf ripped sideways, tearing out a thick chunk of his neck.

The vampire collapsed, gurgling, blood flooding down his chest.

The one behind him reacted too late. The werewolf bent forward and slammed its head back with brutal force.

BANG!

The hit cracked the vampire’s nose. He loosened his grip and the wolf twisted violently, seizing the vampire’s arm in its jaws.

CRUNCH!

Bones shattered instantly.

The vampire shrieked and tried to pull free, but the wolf didn’t let go. It yanked him down and threw him hard into the ground.

BOOM!

The vampire tried to crawl away, but the wolf pounced on him and tore into his chest with both claws.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Flesh ripped open. Ribs split apart. The vampire thrashed, screaming, but the werewolf kept clawing until it reached his heart and crushed it.

The vampire went still.

The werewolf dropped the body and turned back to the first vampire, who was struggling to get up, holding his half-destroyed throat. He staggered back, eyes wide, blood spurting through his fingers.

The werewolf limped forward, dragging one injured leg. Blood coated its fur. Its breathing was heavy and ragged. It looked half dead.

But it still moved.

The vampire tried to run, but he was too badly injured. He stumbled, and the werewolf tackled him from behind.

They rolled across the floor.

The vampire fought desperately, slashing blindly, catching the wolf’s side. The werewolf didn’t stop. It grabbed the vampire’s face with both claws and slammed it into the floor.

CRACK!

Then again.

CRACK!

The vampire’s skull started to cave.

The werewolf pulled the head up and slammed it down one last time.

BOOM!

The head split open like crushed fruit. Blood spread across the floor in a wide smear.

Silence followed. A heavy, thick silence that felt like the air itself stopped moving.

The werewolf pushed itself off the corpse. It stood on trembling legs. Blood dripped from dozens of wounds. It could barely lift its head.

Three vampire bodies now lay around it.

And the severed head.

The werewolf looked up, chest rising and falling slowly, painfully.

It gathered the last strength it had left.

And it let out one long, broken howl.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWL...

The sound cracked near the end. The creature’s legs gave out. It dropped to the ground, panting hard. After a moment it forced itself to stand again. It dragged its body forward, leaving blood behind as it limped away alone.

Three dead vampires.

One severed head.

And a wounded beast barely holding itself together.

The scene was quiet again.

But the violence still hung in the air like smoke.
