CHAPTER 198 – Sheep To The Slaughter
Jay turned to look at Macy and with sad filled eyes he paused his lips at his girlfriend. “It is as we imagined. She came and my naughty friend is following her like a sheep who is being led to the slaughter.”
“Let us go fast. I know Jade. Once she sets her mind on something, it is final,” Macy declared.
“Sure.”

Meanwhile, Xander wasted no time in chasing after her and by the time he rounded up the corner, he only heard the sound of a closing door but he did not see the person.
Quickly, he hastened his step and began to move in the direction of the sound. When he walked further but did not see anyone, he sighed and closed his eyes.
He did not have to play the hide and seek game with her. He knew that the guard would alert his friends, so if he could utilize what little time he had left, then the better for him.
.....
Opening his eyes, Xander was ready to activate special sight mode when he heard a door open from his left-hand side and before he could turn, a slender but firm hand pulled him towards her direction and shut the door, locking it behind her.
**GBAM GBAM**
By the time Jade turned around, she saw the man of her dreams smiling brightly at her. Unfortunately for him, she wasn’t up for that, not anymore at least.
It took some time but finally, Xander opened his mouth to say something.
“Jade.”
“Silence,” Jade cut in sharply.
“You look extremely beautiful, love. I love your outfit.”
“Shut the hell up, Xander!”
A soft sigh escaped Xander’s lips but that wasn’t it all, he dared himself to take a step forward and move up to her.
Unfortunately for him, Jade was quick and she intercepted him pulling her gun from her thigh and pointing it at him.
“One more step and I would not hesitate to use this gun on you,” Jade threatened. Even Xander knew better than to do that as her gun was fully loaded and the dark glint on her eyes told him she was going to indeed do as she had said if he made one small mistake.
“Jade please, listen to me. I am so sorry for all that I have done Jade.”
That was it. She meant it when she said she did not want to hear anything from him. As soon as he began to speak, Jade’s hand dropped a fraction and she did a quick back turn, covering the gap between himself and her then she swung her hand holding the gun at him.
However, Xander also anticipated her action and held her hand quickly with a firm grip, preventing her from moving it.
Notwithstanding, she moved again, sliding back a bit on the ground with one leg while raising the other to strike him.
Still holding her other hand, Xander also caught her leg and held it tight. Both of their eyes weren’t holding smiles in them. While hers held anger, his held sadness as she had never known before.
It was as if he was silently begging her to please forgive him just from that intensive look.
“Never.”
With that word, she pulled back with all her strength and slid down then immediately spun on the ground, using her legs as a weapon putting forth more distance between them before coming to stop a few steps in front of him and holding her gun again.
“Jade, I need p talk with you, please but I would love for you to give me a listening ear.”
“So that you can tell me what? How you ordered that my father be murdered in cold blood on an eventful day that meant the world to me? Do you even know that I did not get to see my father that day? I had to run for my life while my parents were shot dead with no one to bury them and till now I move as a fugitive. Do you know how that feels?”
“I’m so sorry. I am sorry for my selfish acts and orders but...”
“Shut up.” To prove her point, she turned the gun a bit and cracked it, then pulled on the trigger a bit.
“Jade.”
“I said you should body shut up, Xander. No amount of sorry or explanation you would say can bring back the dead.”
“Great then, I know it cannot.”
“Are you mad?” Jade scoffed a bit then she shook her head. “I should have known you were this heartless when I met you. I was warned but I was too stupid to fall for your charms. It was all a play to you, right?”
“No, Jade. Just shut up and let me speak. Since my apology cannot bring back the dead, then I believe my death might be able to free you from At his age. Even though I know you won’t be free but you would not believe me either way, so if what you want is my death, then but all means take it but know this, I loved you.” He took a step forward and paused. “I still love you.” He took another step forward but she did not pull the trigger, rather her eyes dimmed a fraction and but she remained unshaken in her resolve.
“And I would forever love you even till the end of age.” He took the last step forward, just stopping at where her gun was faced to his heart and he smiled a bit. “Go on. I have no regrets as I found love and my mate but I do regret this decision that is going to put an end to what all dragons wishes and craves.”
Xander closed his eyes, allowing his breath to be steady as he awaited his death in her hands.
Jade did not say or do anything. She just stayed there with her gun touching his chest and her eyes now perfectly squinted at him.
Even though she thought that in her mind she had finalized her resolve, just seeing him like this and all he said began to star in her heart.
Her heart ached and burnt at what she wanted to do but her mind kept on pushing her to do it and end this misery of having to see her parents’ killers living.
“Do it, Jade,” Xander said softly but he did not open his eyes. “Just do it, please.”
He did not want to look at her and see that dreadful look in her eyes when she finally pulled the trigger and saw that he was dead. It would hunt him even after death so he decided to not soil his image of her in his mind.
“Just fucking do it already!” Xander half yelled at her, startling her in the process. At the same time, a knock came on the door opposite of there, everything had happened almost at the same time, startling her completely that Jade did not know when her finger that was supposed to let go of the trigger press on it.
As she pressed down a bit, she shifted her hand to the side quickly just before she pressed on it completely and that was when she pressed fully, shooting at a corner in the room.
Startling those outside, and bringing attention to where they were in the other room. Quickly Jade turned her head to the side and met his eyes still closed before he blinked them open.
Within a few seconds, her heart had begun to thud loudly in her chest and she blinked uncontrollably. It was just through her experience that she managed to divert the gun quickly or she would have shot him dead.
“They are here. Open the door.” A familiar voice yelled from outside the door, pulling everyone back to reality as banging came on the door.
Xander opened his eyes and saw her terrified and shocked ones. E knew why they were like that. It was because she had not expected him to give himself up willingly and even yelled her into doing it.
Was that how much he wanted to die? Did he not want to live and protect his people anymore? Those were the thoughts running in her head. When she stared into his own comfortingly calm eyes.
He really was something else but as quickly as her fear came, her anger rose again. “Until next time. Next time, I would not hold back.”
BANG! BANG! BANG!
“Jade.”
Ignoring his call, she moved swiftly past him and made her way out through the window. “Jade!”
Xander’s heart skipped a bit. He had thought that she had jumped down and rushed to the window to see if she was okay but by the time he got there, he did not see her again.
His eyes scanned the surrounding and found a few guards not too far from the room he was standing at.
“Bloody hell!”
