171 Meeting: Jay’s Proposal

************

CHAPTER 171

“Hell no! No, what I mean is yes.” Jay’s eyes brightened with smiles. “Yes, yes, yes.” Jay closed his mouth and left it open again. It was shocking to him but this seemed like a damned proposal damn it. “Of course Macy. Of course, I would want that and more. I can’t believe it...”

He paused for a little while and then smiled shyly at her. “Macy darling.”

“Hmm?” Her own smile remained.

“Sweetie, would you do this young man the honor of spending the rest days of your life with me and bring light into my very lonely life?”

Her smile broadened. She had wished for this day and even after saying it suggestively, she never expected for him to act on it soon.

“I...” She giggled still trying to understand it all. “Screw courtesy... I DO!” She stood up screaming and ran into his waiting arms as Jay took the opportunity and picked her up, then twirled with her before putting her down on her feet.

“I do, Jay. I do.”

.....

“You mean it? You won’t back down and leave me?”

“Definitely, I mean it. No leaving. I want to be with you every day of my life,” Macy responded.

“Me to baby, me too.” With smiles on their faces, they brought their head together and kissed passionately, taking things slow to enjoy the moment.

Things could not be any more perfect at that moment for the two of them. It was surreal and breathtaking.

They pulled back and giggled at each other. Jay wanted more than anything to make her happy and he did.

“Oh, how I have wished for my mate for years. I am more than glad to have found you, Macy.”

“Me too. I bet Quinn would be happy to know that, we are going to get married. Perhaps we may even have a double-day wedding.” Her eyes blinked with excitement at her own discovery or better still, at her spectacular idea.

“Oh, no, we can’t.”

“What?” Macy’s smile dropped. No longer did her eyes shine with excitement but with her disappointment. “Why would you think so? I know Quinn would be happy.”

“Two things actually.” He started to say then paused to make sure she got his undivided attention.

“Okay, I am all ears.”

“Great. The first is umm, I kind of wanted a dragon-like wedding but then again you would want some of your friends and family members to attend so we would go with the normal wedding then we can have a dragon honeymoon.”

“Brilliant. So what is the second since the first already looks like a perfect idea to me?” Macy now found a new sense of joy and hope to hang on to.

When he first said they couldn’t have the double-day wedding, she had thought that it was due to some certain deep reasons but from the way she saw it, it may not necessarily be like that.

“And now the second reason which is the most important.”

Moving according to plan, Jade made her way to the point of their meeting and sat down elegantly waiting for Arctic.

Unlike the last time when they met at a secret location that only their mafia group had access to, this time around they met at an open place but with fewer or even scantier numbers of people.

It was a restaurant in a remote place. As far as Jade was concerned, it was the perfect meeting place. They could talk and do whatever they wanted there without any difficulty.

Before long, an hour passed yet Arctic wasn’t around. Jade raised her left hand to check her watch and shook her head.

It wasn’t Arctic to be late to any meeting or appointment.

‘Perhaps he forgot the time or he just got too busy and haven’t finished whatever he needed to do. Hmm, I would give him time again, and then I can call.’ Ade thought to herself.

She wasn’t one to actually wait that long for someone but this wasn’t just anyone. This was Arctic, her one and only secret bodyguard.

If he was late, then he had a very good reason to be.

Before long another thirty minutes was over. She had gotten tired of drinking her juice alone. She would have been with Xander preparing for their party by now.

‘Hmm, what if wherever he went to stake out at, things got a little bit complicated and he cannot escape as easily as he would?’

At this thought, Jade no longer was as calm as before. Her heartbeat had changed as well. Things were getting out of hand. It was okay if he was thirty to one hour late. She would not be bothered but this was a bloody one-hour thirty minutes lateness.

There was no way in hell that she could calm down about it.

“Please be okay, Arctic. Please be okay and come back to me,” Jade silently prayed with both hands clasped in front of her face.

But then again, if it was Arctic, he could get out of whatever situation he found himself where necessary.

“There shouldn’t be any need to bother and if by the next thirty minutes I have not seen him, I would call him and God help him not to be on any operation though. The last thing I want is to cause problems for him.”

Sigh!

She took in a deep breath and exhaled sharply. A few minutes later, actually, she phone began to buzz on the table, pulling her out of her thoughts.

She shook her head and then picked it up to see the caller only for her eyes to land on the name.

“Thank goodness. Just what I needed. Hello.”

“Hey love, how are you?” Xander’s lovely voice sounded from the other end of the phone.

“What can I say? I guess I am okay.”

“That is nice. Where are you right now?”

“I went out.”

“Okay. Are you with your car?”

“Umm, no. I just did not feel like driving today.”

“Alright then, I would come and pick you up so we could go pick our outfits for tonight.”
