Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 677: The Confuse Ronan And Arielle
Ronan arrived first. Lazarus immediately left after handing over their horses to the guard on patrol. Ronan asked Lucas if Arielle was done with her work and the man said the queen was getting ready for dinner. He walked towards his office and accidentally saw William passing by to go somewhere else.
"William?" Ronan called, and it made William stop in his place due to surprise.
William took a step back then turned to the king with an awkward smile on his face.
"You’re here? Shouldn’t you still be at the academy accompanying Irene and Aimee to have dinner there?"
William rubbed his hands anxiously, trying to figure out how to explain things without making Ronan angry.
"Um... I’ll explain later, but we did come back early. I have something to do. So now I have to go. I promise to be back before dinner," replied William hurriedly.
Seeing the man’s strange attitude made Ronan confused. His right-hand man didn’t explain anything at all. Ronan just stood there with a few knights behind him while frowning in confusion at William’s strange attitude.
After William was out of sight, Ronan walked back to his office to discuss something with the highest knights. He also ordered one of the servants there to call Kael because they had to talk about something related to military affairs.
Actually, William was also needed because this would be about the bilateral topic for the two kingdoms. However, seeing William who looked strange, awkward, and in a hurry, Ronan just let the man slide for now. He just hoped that William would explain everything as clearly as possible later.
Dinner time arrived. Ronan let out a long sigh and lay down on the back of his chair. After quite a long discussion, they still hadn’t found a way out.
Recently, the neutral territory became a problem again. After Ronan gave the management rights to Archie, Arielle’s brother, Thebis now did something they still didn’t know the purpose of. They refused to go through the new trade route Ronan had prepared that would directly connect Thebis and Wolgast and made temporary settlements in neutral territory instead.
The diamond mines there had also been closed before Ronan handed over the neutral territory to Nieverdell. Thus, it was most likely not the reason Thebis sent many of its citizens to the area.
Besides, yesterday, one of the citizens who had not been identified which kingdom he was from was found murdered by a member of the Thebis Military. So this morning, Ronan left the palace to see for himself the current situation of the place.
And it seemed he would also start sending several groups of troops to help Nieverdell secure the place.
Ronan stood up and was about to walk out of the room. Then, he met Arielle who had just arrived at his office to ask him to have dinner together.
"Oh, I was just about to pick you up," said Ronan who then spread his arms to get a warm hug from his wife.
"Hehe, I decide to pick you myself," the girl replied, making Ronan want to kiss her adorable lips.
"Wife, have you met Irene?" Ronan asked curiously. He had just remembered that William, Irene, and Aimee had returned earlier.
"Irene? Isn’t she still in the academy?"
"Oh, you don’t know that Irene and the others have come back?"
Arielle shook her head. Ronan then ordered one of the servants to invite Irene to have dinner together. He wanted to ask about his sister’s interview. Both Ronan and Arielle wished for the best for the child. Arielle didn’t doubt Irene’s ability to study at all, so she didn’t have the slightest doubt that her sister-in-law would be accepted in the academy.
When they arrived at the dining hall, Arielle and Ronan sat together for a long time at the dining table. Normally, there was no one who could make the king and queen wait like this. Then, after a while, the servant Ronan assigned to invite Irene to have dinner together returned.
"I’m sorry, Your Majesty. Miss Aimee said that Princess Irene can’t be disturbed now," said the man while bowing deeply.
Both Arielle and Ronan frowned in confusion. When Ronan asked if something had happened, the servant politely said that he didn’t know because that was all Aimee had said to him.
Ronan then told his wife to eat first. He could see that Arielle was worried now. It seemed they were thinking the same thing. Seeing Arielle who had no appetite, Ronan put down his fork and touched the girl’s hand, which had been in the same position since before. His wife had only eaten two mouthfuls of her food.
"I know you’re worried about Irene. Now, finish your food first and you visit her after this. I don’t want you to get sick," Ronan said, to which Arielle replied with a subtle smile.
Arielle finished her dinner faster than usual. Ronan told the girl to go first because he was waiting for William who promised to come back before dinner.
Ronan finally finished his dinner alone. He wiped his lips with a clean napkin. Then, he left the dinner hall and found William running.
William, who saw Ronan, stopped while panting hard. He held his body with his hands on the wall so as not to fall to his knees.
"What’s wrong, William? Why do you come back with blood on your clothes?" asked Ronan, who gave William his handkerchief to wipe off the remaining blood and sweat on the man’s cheek.
"I will explain everything. From the very beginning," replied the man firmly.
William took a deep breath and then exhaled it slowly. After calming himself, he immediately knelt in front of Ronan, making the man even more confused.
"William?"
"Your Majesty, forgive me. I’ve messed up Princess Irene’s interview!" exclaimed the man, admitting his mistake.
Ronan tilted his head in confusion. His eyebrows knit together. A sign that he didn’t understand what the man who was kneeling in front of him had said.
"Huh?"
