Love You Till the End-Chapter 1013 - 1012: Have You Seen Su Jiuyi Lately?
"Have you seen Su Jiuyi recently?"
Could it be because of something about my sister?
Su Manning was troubled; she truly didn’t know Su Jiuyi’s whereabouts. This mountain trip was arranged by Song Zhike, and although she knew it wouldn’t be just the two of them, she didn’t expect Su Jiuyi to be present as well.
But would Su Zhenxiong become so angry because of her sister... It feels like the matter isn’t exactly that simple.
So, should she tell him about meeting her sister, or continue to cover it up for her?
She hesitated a bit, completely unsure of what to say. At this moment, Zhao Shuya abruptly spoke: "Are you planning to leave us behind and find another stepmother for Su Jiuyi?!"
"Can you even speak sensibly?" Su Zhenxiong retorted defiantly.
"At such an old age, still flirting around and being unfaithful, can’t you just look in the mirror and see what you look like!" Zhao Shuya stood with her arms crossed, her stance resembling that of an angry lion.
Su Zhenxiong was at a loss, momentarily speechless and submitting, which implied he admitted what Zhao Shuya said was true.
Su Manning was shocked; was father philandering outside?
"You have nothing to say, right? I knew all along that nothing good comes from your constant overtime; now I’ve caught you!"
Su Manning’s vision became somewhat blurred, as if the happy family she remembered instantly crumbled.
In fact, she also realized that Su Zhenxiong had been acting odd lately, sometimes not returning home for days on end. Upon return, he spoke very little to her mother, who complained all day about father being unfeeling, while she comforted her mother constantly, not imagining the truth was this.
The two began arguing again; apparently, the trigger wasn’t Su Jiuyi but Su Zhenxiong.
She lowered her head, pursed her lips, and said nothing more, carrying her bag and dragging her weary body step by step to her room.
*
The golden orb in the sky had already descended halfway below the hills, its sunset embracing the mountain like a blazing half-red sky.
The crescent moon, at some unknown time, peeped out from the clouds, looking almost transparently bright against the deep blue canvas.
In the slanted rays of the setting sun, Su Jiuyi’s silhouette was tinged with a soft yellow glow; she stood frozen, surprised, with her fingers stiff in the air, not knowing where to place them.
Unexpectedly, after descending the mountain, they encountered Xiao Chen at the restaurant.
Shi Aoju remained silent with a somber face, and the noisy voices of Qin Shaobai and Qi Jingren halted in the trio’s stillness.
This kind of encounter appeared slightly delicate.
Everyone understood that Xiao Chen knew Su Jiuyi; because of last time’s teasing at Ciaos, but being inherently philanderous, it was uncertain if he remembered her.
Based on the previous murder case, Xiao Chen would certainly recognize the four before him, and be well aware of their information.
Naturally, Shi Aoju and his group were no exception; they had long investigated Xiao Chen thoroughly, though unraveling the hidden data required more time and connections.
Standing beside him, Qi Jingren frowned, nearly losing control of his emotions, wanting to break this eerie atmosphere.
Fortunately, Qin Shaobai grabbed her wrist first and shook his head upon seeing her questioning gaze.
