Love You Till the End-Chapter 1010 - 1009: No Reason Is Stronger Than Falling in Love with Someone Else
She only remembered that her gaze ultimately stayed on Shi Aoju’s enlarged face, his eyes full of concern, his brows knit tightly as usual.
But somehow, there was something different.
Just as Shi Aoju was about to answer the truth, her body fell backward.
Fortunately, Shi Aoju noticed something wrong in time, and when she was about to fall, he supported her back just in time, saving the back of her head from an intimate encounter with the ground.
Su Jiuyi had a fever.
Fortunately, Su Manning, who originally had a bit of a cold, had brought some fever medicine. After making Su Jiuyi take it, she helped her to the tent. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Su Manning and Qi Jingren took turns caring for her while the men stood watch outside the tent.
The group busied themselves until the early hours of the morning before Su Jiuyi finally fell asleep. Su Manning, also exhausted, kept nodding off while holding a towel, until Qi Jingren took over, letting her sleep in Su Jiuyi’s tent.
Su Jiuyi never expected she’d have a day to "share a bed" with Su Manning.
After clearing away the campfire and packing all the trash into a bag, they originally planned to head back after watching the sunrise in the morning, but it wasn’t clear if Su Jiuyi could wake up in time for it.
Qi Jingren, dragging a bag of trash by herself, headed toward the cable car, while Shi Aoju, having packed his hiking bag, stepped forward to take the bag from her hand.
"How is she?" He naturally asked, referring to Su Jiuyi.
"36.7 degrees, the fever has mostly subsided, but she’s too exhausted, probably won’t wake up before dawn," she replied.
Insisting on doing something she clearly couldn’t handle.
Shi Aoju rubbed his slightly sore temples, placing the trash bag filled with beer cans under a tree by the cable car, planning to clean it up the next day.
"By the way, about the question I asked you earlier," Qi Jingren stood before him, "it’s something I really want to know."
Shi Aoju crossed his arms, looking at her with amusement, a hint of deep meaning in his narrowed eyes: "Are you trying to catch me in the act?"
Qi Jingren rolled her eyes at him, following up with his words: "Let’s say I am, so will you give me an answer?"
"No." Shi Aoju raised his eyebrows, his thin lips barely parting as he slowly uttered just these two words, then strode toward the tent.
This cunning man.
Qi Jingren let out a light snort.
"Oh, by the way, my mother might come back in a while," Shi Aoju said, "I’ll clear things up with her about us, so you don’t have to worry."
"That’s for the best." Qi Jingren shrugged.
"But you better give her a sufficient reason."
Qi Jingren burst out laughing, as if it were obvious: "No reason is more sufficient than you falling in love with someone else."
Shi Aoju couldn’t be bothered with her: "Then I wish you success."
The next day, Su Jiuyi, of course, didn’t see the long-awaited sunrise.
When Qi Jingren went to the tent to find her, she saw that both Su Jiuyi and Su Manning were sleeping soundly and didn’t have the heart to wake them.
She took her camera, intending to take more photos to show them later.
In the early morning, as the fog cleared, vibrant clouds leaped forth from the western sky, the warm summer wind brushing gently across her face, while mosquitoes buzzed wildly along the tree-lined path, and the scent of fresh grass filled the air.
When Su Jiuyi woke up, she felt herself slowly sinking, instinctively grasping the things around her, and once her gaze focused, she realized where she was.
