Chapter 1008: Chapter 1007: Truth or Dare

The tingling sensation felt like I couldn’t sense my own feet, just an electric current passing through my soles.

Seeing that she was fine, Shi Aoju released her hand. Everyone else was busy with their own tasks, and the ambiguous interaction between the two didn’t surprise anyone. However, Su Manning was a bit surprised.

As an outsider in the business world, she naturally didn’t know Shi Aoju’s identity. But just from his extraordinary demeanor, she could tell he wasn’t a simple figure.

But is this man her sister’s boyfriend?

Watching the intimate gestures between the two, along with the composed expressions of the three others nearby, her confusion grew deeper.

Lost in her thoughts, she had completely drifted away from the task of grilling fish. Her momentary distraction caused her grip to slip, and the tightly held stick plunged straight into the fire, emitting a "sizzle" sound.

"Hey!" Song Zhike saw what happened and immediately rushed over, but the burnt fish head was beyond saving.

Startled, Su Manning looked at the scorched fish with guilt written all over her face. She bowed her head and said, "I’m sorry."

"It’s alright, it’s just a fish. You didn’t burn yourself, did you?" Since he brought her out, Song Zhike felt responsible for looking after her.

Night had fully descended, and an unknown fog began gathering at the mountain peaks. The milky-white mist grew thicker and covered an increasingly larger area, enveloping the entire mountain in a layer of veil.

Summer insects chirped from the bushes, and under the dark blue night sky, the campfire’s glow lit up half the sky.

After dinner, the six of them sat around the fire chatting, snack bags and beer cans scattered on the ground.

"Let’s play a game," Qi Jingren suggested, hugging her knees and looking bored almost to the point of falling asleep, "Truth or Dare."

Qin Shaobai commented sarcastically, "Aren’t you too old to play Truth or Dare?"

Qi Jingren glanced at him and retorted unceremoniously, "Aren’t you too old to be stacking blocks here?"

She was referring to him arranging beer cans in piles, fewer and fewer as they rose from the largest base layer.

Among them, the least interested in games was probably Shi Aoju, who had been quietly resting with his eyes closed through the conversation earlier. After all, there was no signal on the mountaintop, so he couldn’t even use his phone to check the news.

"We’re just bored, let’s all play. I have a Truth or Dare app on my phone," Qi Jingren suggested.

"There are exactly six of us, numbered from one to six. Later, whoever’s number gets drawn has to choose Truth or Dare." She took out her phone to open the app and added, seeing Song Zhike raising his hand, "No one can be left out."

With that, everyone else tacitly agreed.

After a few rounds, each of them got picked, but the questions from the app were rather tame, not sparking much interest. Only Su Jiuyi’s dare turned out to be somewhat challenging.

"Clean all the toilets in the house." Qi Jingren read the task from her phone, struggling to hold back her laughter.

The previously quiet Shi Aoju finally moved upon hearing this, but merely took a sip of beer and said, "I’ll leave that to you."

How many toilets does the Shi Family have? Every servant’s room was like a college dormitory, each with its own bathroom and balcony. As far as she knew, there were three to four dozen female servants alone...
