Chapter 2000: Chapter 1997: Lovesickness

"You can go in." Gu Qibao finally stepped aside.

Di Mingchen rushed through the door, and Gu Qibao left, saying as she did, "Wish you two a delightful evening, enjoy yourselves tonight!"

After speaking, she closed the door and swiftly locked it with the key she had prepared in advance.

Upon hearing the lock click, Di Mingchen was somewhat puzzled, but there was no time to inquire, mainly because the room itself was peculiar!

There were flowers everywhere, arranged romantically, making him instantly feel that something was amiss!

"Nangong Ran?" Di Mingchen tentatively walked through the entrance and the small living room and saw Nangong Ran lying on the bed.

"Are you feeling very unwell?" He hurriedly rushed forward.

Nangong Ran was practically burning up inside, having resisted taking off her clothes. The drug had fully taken effect by now.

Nangong Ran turned her head to look at Di Mingchen, who had walked to the bedside.

Di Mingchen was stunned upon seeing her condition; her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were misty, as if she was about to cry from the discomfort.

"You, what’s wrong?" Di Mingchen stammered in fright and hastily crouched down to touch her forehead. The moment he felt it, he was even more alarmed; it was so hot!

"Fever?" He skeptically raised an eyebrow, and without saying another word, he directly picked her up in his arms.

It was the first princess carry—a strong and manly gesture.

"Let’s go see a doctor." He anxiously watched her, his worry evident.

Nangong Ran felt like dying at that instant; she was already unbearably hot and weak. Being carried like that drained the last bit of her strength.

"Put me down." Nangong Ran weakly said, surprised when she heard the sound of her voice, thinking to herself, wow, that voice!

Her voice was sweet and seductive, making Di Mingchen’s already suspicious eyes even more doubtful.

"What is going on?" He couldn’t resist asking, but he still held her tightly.

"This isn’t a sickness a doctor can treat." Nangong Ran, panting due to discomfort, made Di Mingchen’s throat tighten, his eyes as dark as a pool.

"What’s wrong? What illness?" He couldn’t help but ask, and his voice oddly became a bit raspy.

"Put me down first." Nangong Ran frowned, her eyes half-closed, looking very uncomfortable.

"Okay." Di Mingchen turned and placed her back on the bed, but she hooked her arms around his neck.

"What’s really going on with you?" Di Mingchen asked again, clearly very nervous.

Nangong Ran slowly opened her eyes, and the resolute, handsome face of Di Mingchen entered her vision.

For some reason, she slightly curled her lips, seductive like an enchantress. Her white, slender fingers gently brushed across Di Mingchen’s chiseled jaw as she softly spoke, her breath fragrant like orchids, "Love-sickness."

Just those three words were filled with extreme allure, Di Mingchen couldn’t quite describe the sensation; it just felt like his mind exploded and his whole body seemed to heat up.

"Who are you lovesick for?" His dark eyes were smoldering, as he halfway leaned over her, questioning.

Nangong Ran, her eyes filled with confusion as she looked at him, subconsciously licked her lips and uttered a word, "Pig."

Di Mingchen was momentarily taken aback, half-amused and half-exasperated, and quickly said, "Alright, let’s get serious. I called you over to check on you, if you really are sick, it would be bad."

"I’m not sick." Nangong Ran looked directly at him, speaking very plainly, "I was drugged."
