Chapter 80: Chapter037 Year after Year on This Day (3)
So, when it came to claw machines, Su Wan always had an obsession, even thinking that when she got a boyfriend, she would definitely bring him to try it once. So today, she brought her boyfriend to clear her past failures!
"Which one do you want?" Fu Weiheng picked up the game coins they had just exchanged from the basket, confidently and leisurely glancing at Su Wan.
Su Wan poked the transparent barrier, "That one, that monkey."
Fu Weiheng understood and inserted the coins.
What happened next was completely unexpected for Su Wan.
Fu Weiheng’s pair of hands weren’t just for playing the piano. His nimble hands moved the controller with a twist and a shift, pressed the button, and effortlessly grabbed about a dozen for her over several rounds.
Su Wan’s eyes sparkled, looking up at him with admiration.
Fu Weiheng glanced at the empty game coin basket, then at the stuffed animals nearly overflowing in Su Wan’s arms, and asked, "Want more?"
Noticing the flustered owner behind Fu Weiheng, Su Wan quickly shook her head, "No more, no more..."
So, Fu Weiheng went to the counter, got a large paper bag, packed the stuffed animals, and walked out of the arcade, holding her hand with one hand and carrying the bag with the other.
Su Wan stared at the bag full of stuffed animals, frequently shocked, and couldn’t help but exclaim, "Neil, is this really your first time... You’re amazing..." She and Qin Yan had never caught even one in all these years...
Fu Weiheng casually replied, "If I can’t even handle this, how can I play the piano?"
Su Wan: "..."
Why did that sound so familiar...?
Fu Weiheng checked his wristwatch and asked, "What do you want for dinner?"
Su Wan answered without hesitation, "How about going to Magic?"
Fu Weiheng paused, a bit surprised, "Didn’t you say you didn’t like it there?"
"No, not really..." Su Wan unknowingly wrinkled her nose, feeling a bit guilty, "The steak there is really good..."
Fu Weiheng didn’t think much of it and said, "Let’s go."
By the time they arrived at the Magic Club, the sky was already completely dark, with a bright moon hanging in the gray sky, and a few scant stars faintly visible through a thin mist.
The elevator took them straight to the restaurant. Standing in front of the restaurant door, Su Wan nervously squeezed her palm, and Fu Weiheng noticed her hesitation and asked with a smile, "Don’t want to eat anymore?"
Su Wan quickly said, "Of course I do, the private room is all booked." She said as she walked toward the private room, leaving Fu Weiheng behind.
When they reached the door of the private room, Su Wan confirmed the number on the door but didn’t push the door open. Seeing her frozen at the door, Fu Weiheng walked a few steps, put his hand gently on the top of her head, and with a smile said, "Why aren’t you going in?"
The person in front of him turned her head slightly, lifted her lashes to look at him, and asked, "Neil, do you know what day it is today?"
She looked serious, and Fu Weiheng was momentarily puzzled, then suddenly realized something. Just as he was about to speak, Su Wan pushed open the door of the private room.
The "Neil" spelled out with aluminum balloons caught his attention immediately.
As the door fully opened, Su Wan took a few steps inside, stood under the "Happy Birthday to Neil" spelled out with balloons, and smiled, offering her wishes, "Happy Birthday, Neil."
To set a romantic atmosphere, a few soft, warm star lights were added in the private room. Under the circle of lights, the soft glow cast on her face made her eyes appear pure and clear, incredibly beautiful.
Moved, Fu Weiheng slowly walked over to her, leaned in to embrace her, and joyfully asked, "Have you been preparing for long?"
Due to the height difference, Su Wan had to tilt her head back in his arms as she wrapped her arms around his waist, gently shaking her head, "Wei Jin arranged the private room, I just brought you here."
Suddenly, the room door closed, catching Su Wan’s attention as a small cart appeared in front of the dining table, with a candlelit mousse cake on it.
Su Wan’s eyes brightened. She dragged Fu Weiheng over to the cake, urging, "Neil, blow out the candles and make a wish, the candles are about to go out!"
Fu Weiheng smiled, bent over to blow them out, and softly said, "Birthday wish..."
Before he could finish, his mouth was covered as Su Wan said, "No, no, you can’t say your wish out loud, or it won’t come true, say it in your heart!"
Fu Weiheng looked at her, perplexed, for a moment and then silently made his wish in his heart, saying, "Done."
Only then did Su Wan, satisfied, open her small purse to take out a velvet box and slowly opened it.
A pair of exquisite royal blue cufflinks came into view, and Su Wan happily said, "Your birthday gift."
Fu Weiheng stared at the cufflinks for a while, then took them with a chuckle, "With that serious look just now, I thought you were going to propose to me."
Upon hearing this, a flush of red swept across Su Wan’s face.
He took off his coat, skillfully affixing the cufflinks to his shirt cuffs.
Then, he lowered his head to kiss her.
